  • @daniEstela1

    [Automatic translation]

    Es tan amable, gracias tanto!

    :-D

    ^_^

i made an organized list of links to the lessons on my blog if anyone else is having the same problem....i posted a link on my youtube home page

  • @dsmitsmit

Always thank you for your kind help!

Hope your blog is performing well!

    ^_^

  • Hello, everybody!

I cordially invite you to let me know your opinion about this video... and, in case, feel free to ask me whatever you want!

    ^_^

  • Thank u!

    U have a gift x3

  • @blackxangelxforever

Thanks to you, for such kind words... if I really have a gift, then... it's my pleasure to share it with all of you!

    :-)

  • yes it did thank you

  • @jonykleko

    Oh, that's good.

    You're welcome!

    ^_^

  • just tell one more thing in step 9 and 10 how do i do it? i do something wrong because when i am going to do step 11 i only have the left part

  • @jonykleko

    My guess.

In step #9 you have to turn to the left the front layers of that half figure on the right; and in step #10, on the opposite face of the model, you have to do the exact same: turning to the left the front layers of the half figure on the right.

I guess on repeating the step you've probably unavoidedly turned to the right the left half.

    Hope this helps!

    ^_^

  • tank you i did it

  • @jonykleko

    You're very welcome!

    :-D

  • youre realy great at this i men i can't do step 7 as much as i try and you do it in a blink of an eye

  • @jonykleko

    You're so kind, thank you!

    About step #7:

You have two creases going each one from one side of the square to that bottom angle.

There's also an horizontal crease: all together they form a triangle.

Each one of them must be turned into a mountain fold: that is, now each one of them gives to the paper a V shape; those V shapes on the paper's surface must be turned into a ^ shape.

At the same time, that part of the paper must be folded up along that horiz. crease.

    Hope this helps!

  • Thank you !!!! Man you best :)

  • @GGLENN666

Thank you very much for your subscription!

  • Hey thx 4 the vid! Awesome job! I tried to do it but I got stuck at step 7...any help is appreciated! Thx!

  • @chali90

You're welcome! Thank you for your kind words!

  • mine wont flap :(

  • @BearyChow

Try the following tricks and it will:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

    ^_^

  • nice :D...but my bird dont fly LOL

  • @thrashaholico

    Thank you very much! ^_^

Try the following tricks and it will do:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

    ^_^

  • try pulling the tail slowly itll work

  • mine only flaps when i pull the head

  • @dkman777

Maybe you could try again by exchanging place for both head the tail: that is, unfolding the head and treating it like the tail and doing on the tail the fold needed to transform it in the head!

  • thanks for the tutorial this help me a lot

  • @MrGallethiitha

Thanks to you for your comment, it's very rewarding and smile-giving!

    :-)

  • tnxs a lot i didnt help only joking it helped e a lot

  • @8Natte

    That's great!

Thank you so much for letting me know your satisfaction!

    :-D

  • mine isn't flapping T_T

  • @IvyVids5000

In order to solve that issue, you may try the following tricks:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

    This should help.

  • ponle audio pende-...

  • @ronfagar

My latest tutorials have some sound, instead these early ones are mute.

Anyway, you may solve the problem by listening to a CD or whatever mp3s you like the most!

    ^_^

  • @danbergam thanks..it helped me so much for a homework :)

  • @MissRollmusic

Well, that's a very great thing... it's very rewarding and satisfying, for me, to know that... so, thank you so much for letting me know!

    :-D

  • One wing is broken... but everything else works, thank you :]

  • @PunishmenTOFSounD

About the wing, it may easily happen, because of the strength one has to apply while pulling the tail...

Thanks *to you*, for letting me know your satisfaction: it means *a lot* to me!

    :-D

  • Very helpful! I tried WikiHow but it was so confusing but your videos helped me watch someone make it instead of pictures with arrows pointing everywhere and confusing steps that don't tell you the whole thing! :D

  • @iiRainbowTastic

The problem with origami symbols is just that one needs to know what they exactly mean!

I'm very, very glad to read I've been able to help you making this nice flapping bird: and I thank you for letting me know, because to make these tutorials clear and easy to follow has always been my goal... so, your words are really rewarding!

    :-D

  • its a crane not a flapping bird

  • @TACO9080

Sorry, but most of the times I've seen it called "flapping bird"... by the way, I'm not an origami expert.

  • @danbergam of course u are an expert about origami, i have seen most of ure videos nd they are awsome, u are one of my favorite instructors ^^

  • @kevincast16

You're so kind... you've put a smile on my face, thank you so much!

    :-D

  • i loved this video, it was very helpful, i just finished making two, one large one small. they were a great mothersday present cause my mom has one and so do i.

  • @zsylvester1111

Thank you for your kind, rewarding appreciation about my video, and for letting me know such a sweet thing: I'm sure your mom has appreciated a lot your kind thought!

    ^_^

  • I didn't understand the "head" part.

An my bird doesn't flap wings

  • @MariannaRomano98

About the head: by using the fold made just before you have to reverse the top/back of the head inside the layers of paper, towards the bottom... I'm not good at explaining, hope this helped.

    About the wings:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) as gordigami wrote, try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* pull the tail

  • I cordially invite you to rate it, add it to your favourites and comment it!

  • Mine didn't flap... :(

I made it with regular writingpaper and I couldn't make it flap, so I pulled a little to hard in frustration, and I draged off the tail... LOL :P

  • @xSpeedyxxx

About the "pulling too hard"... don't mind, it happens!

About the "not flapping", please try these advices:

    1) Be sure to have correctly made each single step, both of the preliminary base and of this video

    2) round the wings towards the exterior

    3) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    4) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail [EDIT: ok, maybe this one is not needed! ;-)]

    Hope this will help!

    :-)

  • People always made "the crane" etc etc.

Yet this paper crane is the same (except for a few folds), and has flapping wings, and people would always be amazed, yet it's just like a fraternal twin of the regular paper crane.

I always find it interesting how this isn't as popular as the other crane.

  • @essboarder23

You're more than right, my friend: they would be amazed and so entertained by such a graceful yet simple toy!

I guess it's a problem with many sides: there's a collective tendence, through time, to progressively filter, reduce the knowledge to a few, recognizable symbols... and it's our own fault, when we simply follow the flow and what others do, losing the pleasure to discover new things.

Luckily there are chances to discover all these traditional jewels!

    :-D

  • @danbergam Thats why people like you, kamiya satoshi, sara adams, eric gjerde, etc.

    to make/share awesome origami.

    ;)

  • @essboarder23

Hmm, I think you've forgotten some amazing origami videos from a person known as essboarder23!

    :-D

  • thx so much ^U^ i had to do a scrap book of japan and i thought oragami would be a good thing to put in. this helped so much! the flapping bird got me a lot of points for it :)

  • @PandaGirl135

    :-DDD

Thanks *to you*, for putting such a big smile on my face: to know to have been able to help you is such a rewarding thing, for me!

Anyway, let's not forget that you had the idea... and the will and the patience to make it real: so, be proud of yourself! ^_^

    Congratulations!

  • thanx you made it look eazy and i thought making this was going to be hard haha =]

  • @XxlilRickyxX

Maybe I made it look easy... but *you* have put the will, the patience, the skills to try by your own... and, *you* actually made it!

    So, be proud of yourself!

    :-)

  • Thanks for the tutorial!! It really helped!!

  • You're very welcome... thanks to you, for letting me know!

    ^_^

  • Much better than some other videos. Thanks for taking your time. :3

  • You've hit the right point, indeed!

Thanks to you for your appreciation!

    ^_^

  • amazing, thanks men, u are the real thing!!! XD

  • Ah, that was good! xD

    You're welcome!

    ^_^

  • it doesnt work!! :( only one wing works!!! :(

  • If you had read the other comments, you would have found that I have replied to this questions many... *many* times.

You may try the following tricks:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

  • For to do it, I would need to learn the specific origami terminology in english... but, honestly, I don't really think that I need, at this point in my life, to learn that... I mean, I only fold for these tutorials.

Mute tutorials have become my trademark, somehow; anyway, there are many, many origami demonstrators out there talking while folding

  • Really needs a voiceover to be honest.

This is way to difficult watching you and not having any sound.

    :(

  • I'm sorry but explaining by voice in english an origami model is not easy for me, because english is not my first language and because origami terminology is quite specific.

Anyway, I think you should understand and try a single step at a time, focusing on it until you've been able to apply it on your piece paper, and only at that point move on to the next one: in this way you should succeed.

  • Mine doesn't fly :((((((((

  • Just search in the other comments and you'll see that I've given some advices about it.

  • Yes, I did that... and what you said in the comments. still didn't work. ah well....

  • I'm really sorry about it, they usually work.

The only advice I can give you, at this point, is to check that you've correctly made each single step... to try and try until it works usually... works!

  • thank you so much this helped me on a project im doing

  • Oh, well, I'm really, really happy to have contributed, somehow!

Thanks to you, for letting me know!

    ^_^

  • My paper was

    only 2 inches big

    so it was

    hard

  • Oh, I believe it was hard.

  • i need help...

i did one with construction paper and it worked. but when i used origami paper, only one wing would flap. can you help me? great video by the way

    ~Michelle :)

  • Just search in the other comments and you'll see that I've given som advices.

I had replied to this comment, but looks like YT didn't post my answer... I apologize for this! :-/

    Daniele :-)

  • the wing didnt move... how??? pls help!!!! i want to learn!

  • If you had read the other comments, you would have found that I have replied to this questions many... *many* times.

You may try the following tricks:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

  • P.S.

Your username is such a great one!!!

    :-)

  • Thanks to you, for enjoying it so much!

    ^_^

  • zrobilem se :P

  • How do you obtain step no.7?

  • did you know if you get some normal printer paper or whatever, ifits a rectangle, you can fold one edge to as far as you can to the other side. then the extra rectangle peice can be cut off

Volai or vloia vola eh.... YOU HAVE A SQUARE

  • Yes, a square can be obtained just in the way you explain... or, as I do, by drawing two of them with a writing/drawing software then printing it and cutting them out.

    Et voilà! ;-)

    P.S.

    Thank you for sharing!

  • lo hice

pero no me vuela al final T_T

me equivoque en algo parese X.X

    lo hare de new

  • :O

    quedo muy bien

  • Muchas gracias!

  • ahahah nice ;) the final ;) gj

  • ^_^

  • Yay! I can make a bird now. Only one of the wings flap so it'll just have to work twice as hard. I'm not too good with folds but still thank you anyway. Maybe next time. ^-^

  • Yay! About the wings that doesn't flap, just search in this page the tricks I suggested: it'll flap too!

    Thanks to you!

    ^_^

  • I tried those too. The wing flaps in reverse. When I pull the tail the wing goes in. I had better luck with the Iris flower.

  • To try and try again, paying a lot of attention to do each single step the way it's supposed to be done, is one of the secrets for succeeding in origami!

    ^_^

  • sensei!!! thank you for explonation!!! lol i could not flap that wings... but now it works!! origato!!! ^^

  • Thanks to you for your kindness!

    ^_^

  • Thanks! My first flying origami crane :D

  • You're so kind!

    ^_^

  • Yay Ive got a flappy bird! <3

  • Congratulations! And you did it all by yourself, with your own will and patience!

    ^_^

  • omg i cant get mine to fucking flap no matter what i do it just wont flap!

  • There's no need to use that kind of words! :-\

It's a piece of paper, after all!

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

  • cool!!! thank you so much for this :D!!! it work for me!! (sorry 4 my english :S)

  • Don't be sorry for your english, I perfectly understood you!

    ^_^

    Thanks to you!

    :-)

  • Thank you so much, you're very, very kind!

    ^_^

  • it doesn't fu**ing work 4 me!

  • Really, there's no need to use that kind of words! :-\

It's a piece of paper, after all!

If you had kept your rage under control, you would have probably noticed these tricks I already suggested 1000 times:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

  • I did every step right but my bird NEVER flaps! ):

  • I think it's gonna work, don't worry.

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

  • Thanks so much for the vids, thx to you now i have an interesting hobbie =)

  • Really, origami is a beautiful hobby... glad you've found about it!

    ^_^

  • u need to get a mike

  • I have a microphone.

It's just that I don't need it when I make these origami tutorials, because english is not my first language, so I wouldn't be able to demonstrate the steps and to explain them at the same time (in facts origami has quite specific terms).

So, I think I'll go on with my mute tutorials: it's my style, after all.

Luckily, YT is full of origami demonstrators talking all the time: it's their style, of course.

  • Thanks :D

  • You're welcome!

  • yay i broke it but i will make it again

  • Eh, it's a matter of balance, to pull hard enough... but not too hard: I'm sure that the second try will end in a better way!

    ^_^

  • i did´it !^_^ thank you vvvvvvvv much

  • Thank you in return for letting me know your satisfaction!

    ^_^

  • OH my od. that scared the shit outa me :P i found it aha

  • I'm glad you find it, in the end!

    :-P

  • Yeah mine's tail wont even move when i push my hand in with the tail in my hand... what am i doing wrong? :(

  • mine neither

  • As above.

Read the other previous comments, you'll find out a couple of tricks that usually help to make it fly.

  • mine wont flap

  • Read the other previous comments, you'll find out a couple of tricks that usually help to make it fly.

  • other videos are hard but urs are perfect

  • Thank you so much, you're very kind!

  • My classmates freaked out! hehe...

  • :-D

  • Disregard that last comment, sorry. I found my mistake it it works like a charm!

  • Glad you've find your way through it: with origami it's often like this, one need to try and try again, by looking at things from different points of view!

    :-)

  • The one fold at 4:55 just can't seem to work for me... I made sure I did everything else right, but it just won't work right. Do you know why this is?

  • t agradesco mucho por subir esto tutoriales de origami son muy faciles de entender y de seguir ...

  • Muchas gracias!

  • muy bien muy bien, molto bello , nice nice!!

  • Muchas gracias!

  • mine wont flap xD

  • Look at the other comments, where I give a couple of advices for to make it flap its wings.

  • My bird can't fly

    Hahaha

    Tyvm for the tutorial

  • Feel free to try these tricks:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

Thanks to you, for stopping by!

    ^_^

  • Eee, so cute! This will surely freak out my canary

  • Well, I hope your canary won't be traumatized about it...

  • lolz!!!! that was funny Your free bird!!! lol

  • Haha!

I couldn't resist to make a little joke like that!

    xD

A little laugh, once in a while, is good!

    ^_^

  • This is the only video that helped me to create my superrrrr flapping bird!!!

    You're the best!!! thankss!!!

  • Oh, I'm glad to have helped you to achieve such a satisfaction; but, let's not forget that you have made it with your own hands!

    You're very, very kind!

Thanks to you, for having put a smile on my face!

    ^_^

  • do you know how to make a paper crane

  • Yes, I have a tutorial for that too.

Simply search in my playlist "....and Origami for all".

  • thanks soooo much for these videos! I have learned SO much! Your awsome ^^

  • And that's just the point of these tutorials: to transmit some knowledge, so that other persons may learn to make these origami figures...

Thanks to you, for so awesomely having made my day!

    ^_^

  • hehe,your welcome.

  • these tutorials are amazing. ive learnt so much. thnakyou x

  • Thanks to you, for letting me know your appreciation!

    :-D

  • I cant get mine to flap his wings :(

  • I guess you haven't searched/found/read the advices I've written for many others having experienced the same problem... here they are:

    1) round the wings towards the exterior

    2) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    3) *strongly* (but not too much, or it will tear apart!) pull the tail.

  • Thank you sooo much

  • Thanks to you!

  • Omg, my littlesister got really impressed when i showed her my bird :D Well, one of the wings didn't work, because i pulled the tail too hard and it ripped a bit.. But it still looked awesome. Thank you very much for this tutorial :D You made my day

  • Thanks to you, for so kindly, nicely telling me about yourself spending some time for to give a smile to your little sister!

This has been just smile-giving... so, thanks to you, for making my day in return!

    ^_^

  • lol you are free little bird...

  • ^_^

  • damn.... cant get mine to flap his wings...i feel that if i pull any harder its gona tear appart.... guess its because of the printing paper i used ¬¬

  • 1) Have you made, before, the preliminary base at the link in the description of this video?

    2) round the wings towards the exterior

    3) try to initially hold the wings low while you pull the tail

    4) *firmly* pull the tail

  • Hi :> So far I get most of the video, and you are very good at demonstrating on how to create this. I have on problem though (so far :P):

The very first part of Step 7. :X I just can't seem to get mine to do what yours did. Do you think you could spare any tips on how to do it properly?

    Thanks in advance! :D

  • Hi! ^_^

    Don't mind, things that happen!

You have 2 creases going each 1 from 1 side of the square to that bottom angle.

There's also an horizontal crease: all together they form a triangle.

For to make step 7, each 1 of them must be turned into a mountain fold: now each one of them gives to the paper a V shape... those V shapes on the paper's surface must be turned into a ^ sh
