I am about to have my 3rd home birth in April, and watching yours has reminded me how GORGEOUS it is. Well done!!!

I think a doula would help you a lot. Which base are you on? I wonder if it's the same one where my mom almost died because she had an eptopic pregnancy and the Dr didn't believe she was pregnant. Is it an army Dr? Could you look into being seen on the German health system? I don't know how they are about homebirths in Germany, but better than America would be my guess! Do you want to give birth at home? If you can afford it you could look into an independent midwife.

We are station in Germany. I do not have a doula. Do you think a Doula wil be enough? The German Doctor want to see me EVERY WEEK. When I ask why again he dont answer. I think he thinks American are stupid and he can make a lot of money out of me. I had My Amiontic liquid checked, and everything is perfect. I am not high risk and was a professional gymnast for so many years. I have NO health issue, but every week they want to stick there video camera in.Then he give a CD of it to watch at home

I am not on the homebirthuk but I will check it out tonight. My problem though is that my husband and I are station overseas and the American Midwifes ar enot allowed to do homebirth. The 2 german OBGYN that I consulted wants to do a C-Section on me. The first one said he wanted to C-sec me cause I am the one who must shoose the baby birthdate not the baby, The second doc said to me after sticking a finger in my vagina that I was to tight, and that we will have to C-sec. Needless to say, F them.

you have a lot of courage because you were high risk pregnancy but you were totally decided. I am due end of march with my first. i went tp the hospital today to get checked for the first time and boom, they started shooting orders and threat at me and telling that from now on they will keep all of my pregnancy paperwork. i said "no". she said that they decide what to do. i said "NO. I DECIDE WHERE TO GIVE BIRTH'' she gave me back my pregnancy paperwork. i am having home birth.

Are you on the homebirthuk yahoo group? I found it so valuable in the way of support when I was pregnant. If it hadn't been for them and my local group, I would have caved.

Amazing, women should be allowed whatever birth they wish, i've alway's said i'm having a water home birth when i have children. Good on you for sticking to your guns. Amazing video and i can say those 2 little girls are absolutely adorable, too cute :) well done.

Hey, I'm from the US, but I came upon your video because I have a Persephone nicknamed Sephie, too. Due 3/6/06, born 2/9/06 unplanned, c-sec. You definitely did a good job making your experience seem calm for all involved!

What a beautiful birth! Congratulations. I only wish that we had "rights" to a safe, supported homebirth here in the US. I heard that the UK is officially encouraging homebirth. I dearly hope that our litigious, paranoid, repressed country shapes up and does the same--soon. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your 2 little girls.
