I'm saying...a good place to start for anyone who believes this song is true, is the book of 1 John. But, read the BIBLE...in it's entirety. Have a daily study and devotion time. Don't let songs teach you about the Lord...Let the WORD work with the SPIRIT and desire to know the truth...and not what makes you feel good to heart and you will see the truth of GOD's WORD. The Bible talks about a delusion being sent to those with "itching ears"..they don't love truth...they want what feels good!
Of course we are NOT perfect as Christians...we will make mistakes, we will sin, and when we do, we have an advocate with the Father, our SAVIOR, hallelujah! But, WILLFULLY continuing in a sinful lifestyle is not the sign of a TRUE CHRISTIAN. Christians have been changed, reborn, and set free from sin! Christ says he came to destroy the work of the enemy! He finished that work on the cross! Read your WORD...DAILY! The Book of 1 John is a tiny little book..and it packs it punch! God bless you!

I have to say that I do not like this song. I do not believe its Biblical. When the song says I am sinning over and over again, and "I know I take advantage of your grace," that's a problem. The Bible says continuing to willfully sin is insulting the spirit of grace and if we do this we can expect the same judgment as enemies of God because its like crucifying our savior over again and putting him to public shame! Read Hebrews 10:26-27, Hebrews 6:4-6.
@semonejs I understand where you're coming from...I guess it just depends because i DO see what you mean, on the other hand I love this song because when I get discouraged and disappointed with myself I feel horrible at all the things that I continuously have to repent for..I get so frustrated with myself..and its just like paul says in romans 7:14-19..I guess to me this song just says "Thank you God that i can still hear your voice urging me to come back...to repent...to live for him" .

This brings back memories of my childhood, too! I have a wonderful mother to have played songs like this. I didn't grow up on secular music - I grew up on this wonderful genre of music that only brings back positive memories of innocence =) thanks to the poster!!
