America Runs on a military based economy, a large percentage of the work force and factories in America produce military goods, there for they need war to justify the spending on there defence force. If they brought all troops home and stopped spending in military then many people would be jobless and many factories would shut down, tanks, guns, planes, etc would fall into disrepair so America NEEDS war.

I'd happily quit my job to be part of my country to stop going to war, THAT would be serving your country. And I'm pretty sure in a place like America, it can be easy to get a job. And if the government were for the people, they would fund the men and woman who sacrificed their occupations for the good of the country.
