i am a recovering addict i will be clean and sober for 18 yrs on the 15 of dec in the years of using i lost two very wonderful woman in my life my grandmother whom used to play this when i was a kid and a mother who was nothing to me she died three yrs before i even knew she was gone and i only broke down and forgave her after getting sober and crying for the first time over her death after hearing this again man what a wieght off of me

The first time I heard Mahalia Jackson, was the day I saw "Imitation of Life". For a 9 year old Catholic boy from small town Massachusetts, it was both a sad and joyful moment. Joyful for the discovery of and sad for not knowing who the singer was. When I found out her name I never looked back. I personally don't believe God is a white Zeus-looking man with a beard sitting up in the clouds. I think that was a sort of proof for white males that they were superior others, if you know what I mean? What if God was a black or hispanic woman? Well, God is more like you than like the priest and the kids if they called you that, and I don't think God is some white guy, I really hope he/she/it isn't.

There is no reason to talk about Michael jackson, now. He is gone. I am sorry his childhood was so HORRIBLE. thats why we should pray for non beleivers, famous, non famous and infamous. I just hope he was saved...well... All us beleivers will find out one day, in glory. i hope i am pleasantly surprised. But lets pray for the famous as well as others.
