fuck.. i'd die to be there. heard that one guitarist quit the band. when i dont get to see them live one last time and play this song.. i would freak out. seroiusly.
the sounds is pretty terrible, but holy fuck does it ever capture the essence of this song and why its so intense, everytime i see this video, any video live of them doing this song it sends chills down my spine.
nice thing about seeing them in edmonton i that jesse goes up and sings this song with them. and he didnt quit to form sleeping girl, he quit because he's becoming a high school teacher. he's in his 3rd year now
yeah they played it at the Adelaide show too, you could tell all the people that understood how special it was because they went completely berserk. such a tight show, i didn't think they could get any better after i saw them at Boys of Summer "06 i think it was...i was wrong.
They don't play it because it's about the original singer's two best friends getting killed in a car accident a long time ago so it wouldn't be right for Karl to sing it. So that's why I am very confused as to why they played it...unless they got permission.
They got permission from Jesse. They called him up and just told him that the song means a lot to a lot of people and it's a favorite song of a lot of people so it's jsut wrong to not play it. The first time they ever played it live was November 25th in Seattle.
i have seen them about 4-5 times in 2008 supposed to be more. they have NEVER played this song. i've seen them in the states and canada. and following them since they were a small band with no draw on ferret.
@whatistopat Your reply just popped up on my in my email haha. Ive actually seen them play it live since this comment. lol Easily one of the greatest gig moments in my life.
@whatistopat They usually DON'T play it, because it's really personal to Jesse, the original vocalist, because it's about the death of Jordan Wodehouse, the guitarist from Jesse's old band, Compromise. They were in a drunk driving accident in June of 2001, and Jordan died. Karl says they just "can't" play this song, because it's Jesse's song. They can't play On Account of An Abscene, either, apparently.
this was on my birthday :)
