  • That music is a real tear jerker. Walt's brief appearance in this video is, of course, within a year of his death.

  • How would anyone dislike this?

    It's truly awesome!!!

  • LOVEEEE!

  • why am I crying!?!

  • My family took a trip the summer of 1969 went to Disneyland.

  • it all started with a mouse

  • this there any way to get this in better quality? such as 720p or at least 480?

  • 1 dislike...pleasem why are you not in disnets grave...

  • i love this.

    its amazing.

so many memories of the main street electrical parade.

i wonder if walt disney likes what disneyland has come to be now.

  • Hey that song is from Enchanted! I love that song

  • I would do anything to just meet Mr. Disney once. It would mean alot to me. Even if he's dead, I want him to come back! His dream changed the whole world from generation to generation! He's a genious!

  • Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world. - Walt Disney

  • anyone eles notice the music was the same how does she know you love her from enchanted?

  • @TheDjsmith56 and also true love's kiss and happy working song as well!

  • :'''''''( I miss the way things were a long time ago. People cared and produced amazing animations and things were simply AMAZING. A ton of the time I wish i was born back then. -_- guess I'll have to try and recreate the magic.

  • The song is "Enchanted Suite" which was used as the music for Disneyland Paris' Enchanted Fireworks.

  • 2:28 check out that guy(wearing white uniform) tries to step in the boat behind this forward boat ;-)

  • Won 22 Oscars. Another 39 wins & 41 nominations

  • we miss you walt disney

  • amazing seeing what has become of a man and a mouse!

  • What a wonderful video. Disney and his vision live on despite the pronounced decline of the world that surrounds it. It is timeless in so many ways.

  • I remember seeing Mr.Disney back in 1960 on Sunday nite's on WNBC a few year's before his passing.Good memories when I was a kid.

  • 1 person is dose not belive in magic

  • that is just crazy!!!! i would have loved to have been born back then to go to Walt Disney Land!!!! i've never even been to either one and i'm in my 30's. *cries* does he even have any kids? if he does, they must be really proud of their father and also lucky.......lol.

  • Hey!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could have said thanks for making Disney Land!!!!!!!!!!

  • If one thousand men tried for one thousand years they could not acomplish what Walt Disney did

  • omg im bawling....i have to go back...7 times isnt enough

  • i used to watch disney all the time and i still do :) but his company messed up his name by making all those crappy shows like wizards of waverly place and jessie and ant farm :( he was such a good person and pure magic he made me believe in magic :)

  • I would have LOVED to have met this great man. Pure genius. I'm a huge Disney fan (and I'm a guy in his late 20s) and still enjoy it like when I was a kid.

  • I Remember The Olden Days :)

  • .... That musics drom Enchanted ._.

  • My message to the CURRENT DISNEY, Stop making crappy cartoons and start making cartoons/movies/shows like what the old disney were making back then, when family, friends and love was the foundation and theme of the shows.

  • @missmicomic OMG!! I see these comments on videos from the old Disney all the time, and they never get old because I agree with every single one of them.

  • Did anyone else notice that the entire video was the enchanted soundtrack?

  • i'm covered in goosebumps after watching this!

  • Walt Disney...the Pied Piper of our childhood..... wonderful visonary

  • Hi! This video is great. Just wondering if I could possibly use it to show my grade 1 and 2 class? We are currently working on making animations. Thanks.

  • Walt Disney for me was the best man the world has ever seen (asides from Jesus hes another story) I love him so much and never knew him and wish he had lived longer I know he would never have made it this far(well maybe but unlikely) but just imagine what the world would be with him living longer and his epcot Idea actually worked at disney world.

  • Thanks for this vintage Disneyland video. I first went there in June 82.

  • I love the music at 5:30, it sounded beautiful and the images made me cried.

  • Why did he had to die.. D:

  • Walt Disney just looked so kind

  • every melody on here is in the enchanted movie

i heard happy working song, thats how you know, and true loves kiss

  • every melody on here is in the enchanted movie

  • Thankfully Walt Disney never really grew up! God Bless, Walt. Have fun up there.

  • I alwasy get Mistey eyed when ever I hear Walt speak about about his work and the parks. He one of my heroes of aniamtion

  • OMG, my grandpa looked liked Walt Disney when he was in his 50s :P

  • its funny I looked at this video and was like disneyland has no trees the one now has zillions and then I remebered trees grow.

  • If there was one person that I will forever regret not shaking his hand, i'ts Walt. I was only 3 when he passed but I have been to Disneyland literally hundreds of times and his spirit is alive and well in places like "it's a small world", "Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room", and "Main Street U.S.A.". My life is better for (almost) having Walt in it. Thanks Walt, you left way too soon.

  • Ugh, at 2:20, those dancing Indians is something my parents would have stopped and made me watch when I was a kid.

  • Long live Walt

  • R.I.P Walt Disney

  • Very nice! Thank you for posting. That is the Disneyland that I remember as a child :)

  • at 2:12, what ride was that?

  • @RacerFan12 Big Mountain Railroad.

  • @DemiLovato7754 That doesn't look like the' Big Thunder Mountain Railroad' that's in today!!!!

  • Disneyland is a testament to what believing in your dreams can achieve. Walt taught us all, "If you can dream it, you can do it"! He was, in every way, a genius. Thank you, Walt!!

  • The world lost something very special the day he died 45 years ago.

  • Why do I get so teary involving all things Disney?! I love it so much :)

  • @sammmiii13 omg mee too! It's just so beautiful

  • This is beautiful! And the music makes me smile :D <3 I didn't know the World of Color and Enchanted music was from way back when!

  • @laurenjessicaTV The music is wonderful! "The Wonderful World of Color" was used for the opening of the television show from 1961-1969. Most of the older footage used in this clip is from another show entitled "People and Places" from 1956. Music from the much more recent film "Enchanted" is dubbed over these clips. It's a very happy blend of the old and the new. :)

  • WALT DISNEY PLEASE COME BACK

  • @Allimetalsally

And we will sent you Justin bieber :(

  • @Allimetalsally I wonder what he would think if he could see his parks today, especially Walt Disney World. He never even lived to see construction begin on the property, so it's very unfortunate that he never saw any of it. If he could see anything of Walt Disney World, I wish it would have at least been the Magic Kingdom, so he would know that his Florida Project would be a huge sucess.

  • @potterfandf I'm sure he'd be happy about the success of Disney World, but bitterly disappointed about EPCOT. He seriously envisioned a "community of the future", one that would function as a REAL community. Instead, it became just another adjunct Disney theme park.

Which, to be sure, is quite wonderful. But his "Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow" (EPCOT) just never saw the light of day. Guess the bean-counters who took over after his death just couldn't see the profit in it.

  • at 3:34 iv've been dreaming of a true loves kiss from enchanted

  • at 2:34 they used that melody for happy little working song from enchanted

  • if disneyland opened in 1955 and he said it was the end of the first year of its second decade, wouldn't that make the year 1975, being that a decade is 10 years? But thats not possible since he died in 1966. What am I missing?

  • @101withHabib I think what he means is that 1955-1965 is the first ten years of operation. 1966 is the first year of the second decade and this is probably winter of 1966. Although it may have been filmed earlier in the year and broadcast later as Walt died in December of 1966. It has to be after 1965 because he mentions the new attractions added after the 64-65 World's Fair: It's A Small World, People Mover, Carousel Of Progress, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

  • There may never be a "One Man's" dream like this again.

  • This music is used in Enchanted "That's How You know" and "True Love's Kiss"

  • Love it.

    Thank you.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Disney Channel needs to air Walt Disney's show again.

  • he hated anything that was not white.....the ass hole..

  • @darrylhaynes

That's an urban myth. The truth is,there's no evidence to support that. Unfortunately, urban myths are often much sexier than the truth, so more people believe them.

  • Ahh the Original park! It's still the best!!

  • I love how the score in the video is the music from "Enchanted"

  • I am so happy the Charles Schulz got his Hollywood star next to Walt Disney's. Two of my heroes.

  • "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them."

    - Walt Disney

  • i was really enjoying this video, i love seeing walt do his thing, but WHY id you put that HORRIBLE SONG up over the footage of the park?

  • Very nice

  • i miss the old Disney land :(

  • 2:25 look at the man trying to get in a boat!

  • I don't know about Disney Channel, but Walt would be happy and marveled to see the Lion King, Toy Story, The Incredibles Monsters Inc, WALL-E, UP, and so many other now days classics...

  • @carloscastaf What about The Princess and the Frog?

  • 5:07 and 5:13 Mickey got a nose job XD

  • The melody from 3:33 is the melody to "I've Been Dreaming" at 2:47 in "Thats t's how you know. (Prince Edward sings it briefly before being run over by bikers).

  • The melody from 2:35 is "A Happy Working Song" from Enchanted

  • i love Walt Disney if i could go back in time i would take him and bring him to see his what has become of his company

  • @TheAC29 What are you talking about? Walt Disney made those movies himself, sure. That doen't mean they were any less deviant. His father was a communist and he and his brother pretended not to be communists but their true intentions showed in their work. YOU are the strange person for refusing to see the truth about America's biggest phoney.

  • @AmericanMega2 I'm not a strange person. What do you mean America's Biggest Phoney?

  • @TheAC29 Don't listen to them they're just being trolls (you know how they are... lol) Just people who try to ruin our days with negative comments on here. Walt was a simple boy who grew up near Kansas. He first made comics for the local newspaper then he moved to small cartoons and moved to Hollywood back in the early 20's. Made his own small studio in '23. Then he had build a place where everyone (not just the little ones) would have fun. Simple as that.

  • @rcfan042 Yeah, I'll ignore him. But I'll see about this Neal Gabler.

  • @TheAC29 I seemed to be one of the few Disney fans who thinks Gabler wrote a fair and well researched bio on Walt. Sure, Diane Disney Miller doesn't appreciate it. I probably wouldn't like an outsider's take on my parents' marriage, either. Gabler humanizes Walt, describing him as a passionate artist and temperamental perfectionist. He was neither the Prince of Darkness, nor the Uncle Walt character he portrayed in public. He was just a guy who created brilliant entertainment.

  • @whbon73 I really don't like Neal since he wrote his own biography of Walt Disney terribly wrong.

  • @AmericanMega2 stfu your are garbage go to hell piece of shit

  • @resound222222 truth hurts, loser.

  • @AmericanMega2 WOW we have another retarded conspiracy theorist who tries to make a Innocent person trying to bring joy and happiness to everyone look like some pervert don't you have anything better to do then troll a guy thats been dead for 44 years i mean seriously you people make me sick.

  • @TaylorHound Funny how if I teel l the truth about Disney you people will get all up in arms but if you talk about how great he was then its okay. Don't you have anyhting better to di then get teary eyed over a guy who has been dead for 44 years? And you can call me a conspiracy theorist all you want but it doest change the facts. So get a life.

  • You've upload this old and rare footage of Disney, it still looks great and with no dislikes and 159 likes, you've showed everyone what Disney is all about.

  • I remember when I was like 7-10ish? Every Sunday evening (forget which channel but I think it was CBC) they would air a Disney movie. I remember getting SO excited for Sunday nights to find out what Disney movie was playing.

  • I love anything to do with the early years of the Disney parks. Thanks for uploading this! Everyone should check out the Walt Disney Treasures DVD: Disneyland USA.

  • Look in the backround at 2:26 a guy falls haha!

  • @Kevgam13 Almost! wouldve been hella funny.

  • Walt Disney is my idol.

  • I wish John Lasseter was CEO of Disney. In ways he reminds me of Walt and he always appreciated his work. John even attended CalArts, worked at Disneyland. He is the true heir to the CEO chair.

  • @hannahnonhater If they showed classic cartoons like when i was little we wouldn't haave to worry about that.

  • I wish they would show reruns of The Wonderful World of Color on Disney Channel. Disney Channel today is the biggest disgrace in the history of the company. Hannah Montana is forking in the dough, Disney could use all that money to make some good movies. But hey WInnie the Pooh is coming out in July, its 2D, not in 3D, my early childhood is coming back to me. Toy Story 3 made me cry so much at the end, after that i went to go see it 2 more timesand I still cried.

  • @96gamerdude The Disney Channel?! Don't you mean The Dismal Channel (and even that's an understatement!)?!

  • walt disney was such a magical man. the world lost some sunshine the day he died.

  • it sucks they they are filing bankruptcy and are closing in 2012

  • @Binglung Where did you hear that?

  • @whbon73 That's a good question, where did he heard about that stuff?

  • @TheAC29 I don't think he heard anything.

  • @Binglung no way the filing for bankruptcy They make millions of dollars of of Disneyland alone a day

  • @TaylorHound yes its true. look at wall street and see the decline in stocks. overextended budget with the lack of financial backing has created a gigantic debt. on a daily basis they are losing millions with investors backing out.

  • @Binglung Revenue increase US$ 38.063 billion (FY 2010)[2]

Operating income increase US$ 6.627 billion (FY 2010)[3]

Net income increase US$ 4.313 billion (FY 2010)[3]

Total assets increase US$ 69.206 billion (FY 2010)[3]

Total equity increase US$ 39.342 billion (FY 2010)[3]

    Nice try

  • I miss the days when this came on Disney Channel!!

  • They used the melody from 1:37 for "That's How You Know" From Enchanted!

  • @bensonmobilep I think whoever edited this video put that music in there.

  • @bensonmobilep o yeah huh, it does, good ears my friend :)

  • @bensonmobilep Almost all of the Enchanted songs are here...True Love's Kiss, Happy Little Working Song, So Close, Ever After!

  • @bensonmobilep You mean Enchanted used the melody.

  • @SlitMouthWoman No. They have just dubbed the video with the soundtrack from DLRP's Enchanted Fireworks. I recognise the way the songs have been mused together.

  • @bensonmobilep Enchanted didn't even exist yet! They took the Enchanted song from here! Krikey thats cool

  • @bensonmobilep and that working song comes after it

  • Comment removed

  • @bensonmobilep its the music from the film

  • @bensonmobilep and they also used "True Loves Kiss" very clever people=]

  • IM DOING WALT DISNEY 4 MY WAX MUSEUNM @ SCHOOL(MITCHELL INTERMEDIATE) AND AAWWW WALT DISNEY! :( WALT WAS A REALY GREAT GUY AND IMPORTANT GUY CUZ HE TOUGHT THE WORLD 2 BELEVE AND BROUGHT MAGIC AND FUNNYNESS 2 THE WORLD AND BELIVE! :) <3

  • Walt, come back! Destroy the infidels who run and ruin your company! =(

  • @brutusmuerto

    Youre right!

  • Walt Disney is turning over in his grave right now because of what his world has become. all it is today are money hungry conartists and whores putting out their junk for little girls and boys to see. *miley cyrus caugh* but now we cant' even be proud of what the disney name has turned into. Classic Disney Masterpieces YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!!!!!!! AND FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!

  • Walt was too great a genius for anyone to continue his legacy with the same greatness. Like a Ben Franklin or Thomas Edison, Walt Disney made profound contributions to America and the world, and then was gone, never to be equaled. The Disney organization might well have declined into ruin like MGM after his death, but at least it survives. Small consolation, but about the most we could expect without Walt at the helm.

  • @VoiceoverIsland

well, we stoll got the lion king, toy story, beauty and the beast and some other 90s classics.

    the 90s, disneys bronze age.

  • Wow! Amazing video! Walt Disney was pure genius. I've always loved Disneyland, as a young boy and now as a grown adult.

    I love it. <3

I have never heard of anyone that dislikes Disney. (:

  • Almost brings a tear to your eye, maybe it does for some

  • This guy is a genius.

  • wat show is that at 5:10

  • i love the fact that this isnt in black and white

  • awe He filed this in his first decade when he knew he was dying in 1965. Dinsey Land was only open 10 years. Thank you Mr Disney.

  • This video just makes me want to break down and cry. I'm 16, so the oldest ride I can remember is Rocket Rods, and from the looks of some videos here on Youtube, that ride wasn't too great. Everything just seems so happy and nice in the old Disneyland. I'm looking at 1:47, and I see at least 3 rides that looks absolutely incredible. 2:14: is that Big Thunder Mountain? That looks amazing! 2:27 looks incredible too... I love Disney land and go there often, but so much has changed. It's sad really.

  • @unusualcatperson tell me about it makes me depressed and boy i wish walt lived longer i would had given anyting to meet him or shake his hand

  • @unusualcatperson no is not big thunder is i think i forgot but is not big thunder!!

  • @TheMrawesomedude14 Actually it's the old "Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland". They did end up replacing it with "Big Thunder" in 1979. However, the western town at the beginning of the ride is one of the few parts of the old ride that's still there.

  • Wonderful video...I think you have captured the true emotion that Disney brings to the world. I love 5:13 because it makes me think of when my daughter met Mickey Mouse for the first time. We are getting ready to go back and just can't wait for her to be enchanted again!

  • The man was a genius! I wish he was still alive to slap some sense into the yahoos currently running things at Disney now.

  • @VideoGuy84 Without his genius, Walt, today's diney is just a moneymaking scheme. No wonder his brother left...

  • This almosts brings a tear to my eye

  • Wow, that was great. I thought this was going to be really stupid with the music, but it turned out really great. Good job!

  • Okay..."How Does She Know" from Enchanted starts playing at 1:40....anyone else notice that?

  • 6:01

  • Its a shame. If his company actually used a bit more of his original ideas, the world would be a better place.

  • @TheSkitMan I wish they would quit ripping out all his stuff like the sky way and shiting on his rides and putting playgrounds and stuff or fucking around on bulldozed rides.

  • Gave me chills! Really, really nice work.

  • When Walt Disney died his vision died with him. For example, he would NEVER have allowed the commercialism of the current Disney parks. The Old Main Street used to be all recreations of the original shops and stores with period actors giving explanations of how it worked- maybe 1 gift shop also Disney planned EPCOT ( Environmentally Planned Community of Tomorrow) to be an actual utopian town of the future where people would actually live, using all the then latest technology.

  • If there's just one little thing I'd like them to bring back from the old days, it's those balancing rocks at 2:12

  • Aaaawwwww, it's the dolls from It's a Small World! Anyone know the name of the song playing when the tour of Disneyland starts?

  • It really doesn't surprise me that out of all the people who gave this a rating (granted 110 out of 24,683), 100% gave it a thumbs up. Nobody doesn't love Disney in one way or another. It's a part of our childhoods, and in turn, a part of ourselves. Thumbs up for Walt Disney and his Wonderful World of Color!

  • they really upgraded now

  • anyone see the new world of color water show in disneyland california? it was beast

  • It used to be about principles, dreams and values; now it seems to be more about money. The mouse weeps.

  • @NP4Mayans I know, i hate that they are using his name to promote that stuff from the Disney Channel. Everytime i say Disney is great they think im talking about Hannah Montana and HSM.

  • @morchie717 i noe how u feel i love disney and wat do i mean? i mean thos classic movies like cinderella, peter pan, pinocchio,,snow white and the disney renassiance, little mermaid ect and people think im talking bout the sutpid shows like hannah montana, shake it up id just wish disney channel they ONLY showed world of color and pure re runs, the wonerful wolr dof disney with only littl commercials and the disney classical carttons we all grew up with!!!

  • @NP4Mayans Hopefully, if Anne Sweeney (the woman who runs Disney Channel) realizes she hasn't left any room for the classics (Walt Disney's anthology, the Disney cartoon library, etc.), she'll realize the gig is up.

  • @WIOUNK in fairness to paladin601, it is known that while walt was a creative master (not arguing that in the least) he was indeed known for nearly forcing people to realize their own abilities, and D-land was not his genius alone. the actual original mock up drawing for the park, fully detailed, was done by an artist in a single day, just like uncle walt asked him to though he had doubted he could. Side note: while walt could draw better than you or i, he was not on par with his artists

  • they destroyed disney fuck off hannah montana

  • @WIOUNK i agree 100% disney is my life

  • @WIOUNK I suppose he design the park all by himself, and Disney World, even though he had passed away
