  • Excellent job van. One correction though. The strike is measured such that the bedding is dipping to observer's right hand side and as such the strike would be 180 degrees. I quote from a structural geology site, " There is a convention for the strike to be the in the direction you are facing if the rocks are dipping to your right. ". Pl. Correct me if I am wrong.

  • @farhatjaved12000 The strike line goes both ways, in other words you can describe it using either direction. Some geologists like to use a convention as you describe, you're describing the "left hand rule", where the index finger points in the direction of the strike and the thumb points in the direction of dip, but this isn't necessary or universal. It does eliminate the need for showing dip direction if you always use it.

  • thank you, sexy james bond movie lady, for teaching structural geology, may i plunge my horizontal axis into your syncline folds.

  • it was very helpful. thanks

  • i appreciate ,how simply the significant concept is descibed

  • I love this lady

  • @Navid115 I don't, she got it wrong in the first 10 seconds :P It's antiform and synform if you're describing the shape. Anticline and syncline describes the age order of the rocks.
