@Zenthos01 yeah, i know exactly what you mean....but the Carriers also have counter torpedo defenses, such as SSTDS and AN/SLQ-25 Nixie, plus all the ships protecting the carriers also have defenses vs torpedoes, the carriers themselves have sub hunter helos as aditional defense.... the chances of a sub making a good shot at the carrier and that shot actually hitting are astronimical....
@kainheinrich I'll admit I'm not really an military expert but i know that nixie uses a certain method to deal with a torpedo so I'm not really so sure but wouldn't it just take a higher tech torpedo or a torpedo that nixie doesn't work on. and don't forget the subs are stealth. I think it is probably impossible to hit the ship with an ordinary torpedo. but think about prototype that delivers its payload in an entirely different way. something like what we've seen in south korea

If you want some history, in the Korean war, the chinese suffered 450,000 casualties along with 600,000 north korean casualties compared to 100,000 american casualties.

@kainheinrich I'll admit I'm not really an military expert but i know that nixie uses a certain method to deal with a torpedo so I'm not really so sure but wouldn't it just take a higher tech torpedo or a torpedo that nixie doesn't work on. and don't forget the subs are stealth. I think it is probably impossible to hit the ship with an ordinary torpedo. but think about prototype that delivers its payload in an entirely different way. something like what we've seen in south korea

@thatkindofguy234 ya you can shoot if forever and it wont brake but try to hit your target.... the ammo is to big. it drops fast and moves slow there is alot of recoil from the massive piston so you cant stay on target.. i have used an ak47 and a ar15 and i would feel allot safer with the ar15. m4 and m16 dont brake if you take care of them. it takes just a few minits to take them apart and clean them out.

@DrSpecialBrown yeh, you've used an AK47... not an AK74. The AK74 uses the 5.56 mm round so there is alot less recoil and the bullet it alot lighter.
