  • @kebubas

Tater tots are potato products similar to German "Rösti". Grated potatoes that is fried.

  • deglaze the shit out of that skillet

  • For the extra water, I used beef consomme. It was a nice touch.

  • What ISNT optional? ...Served next to some tator tots.

  • Simmerin now... This better be worth the extra time it's taken to simmer all this water out or I'm unsubscribing.. juuuuust kiddin--->looks delic!!!!!!!

  • i eat it at school. i get tator tots too.!!

  • Great recipe, turned out beautifully. Also, made using BBQ sauce instead of ketchup, even better. This recipe is Chef John's proof that he loves his fans and wants us to be happy!!!

  • Yea...... I guess you can do that.....or you can do it my way...1) go to shop rite (or pathmart) and get some manwich sauce....2) get some ground beef....and finally 3) put it all in a pan and cook it.

  • @chris255N Manwich? Oof.

  • @ohmysweetnurse Manwich is a sloppy joe sauce.. .its everything you need to make sloppy joe all in a can.

  • When you say "Ice cold pan" do you mean put it in the freezer or just room temperature?

  • I live in the Philippines and this was never a tradition. In fact, I only heard about this in HIMYM. Anyway, this looks fantastic, cheap, and easy to make! I might try this myself!

  • It just looks so amazing!

  • I made this today. Too sweet for my taste and the ketchup is really overpowering.

  • eat ALL the food!

  • i make then the exact same, came here looking for improvements.... but i guess mine were perfect cause they're the EXACT same as mine

  • so will this recipe still work with just regular lean ground beef?

  • A mincemeat sammich makes perfect sense!

  • @TheDevineBeing

I agree, its far better used in a cottage pie.

  • I use chili sauce and ketchup ...hope the green peppers ...

  • Would this work with bbq-sauce instead of ketchup? or maybe both?

  • @MrMazvaz ......that's what I use.....not too much ...but assorted flavors of BBQ..have a different taste.......I like chili sauce too..........whatever is around

    .....

  • this was reeeeeaaaaallly tasty, thanks :)

  • My eyes just ejaculated,

  • I guess that makes a good sauce if you add some qater and tomato joice...

  • in australia we just called this mince sandwhich.

  • @powmful We'd do the same in England as well. Although here we don't put mince in a roll/bread anyway. To me that just seems silly, a mince sandwitch it doesn't make any sense.

  • If you have some mixture left over, is it OK to have sloppy seconds?

  • TATERS! :D

  • Dodoria! How did operation: Destroy all Saiyans go?.

    ............Complete crumbilisation.

  • U should come cook at my school our sloppy joe SUCKS!

  • sooooooooooooooo ggggggggggggggggoooooooooooooooooooooooooood

  • Give me that sandwich or ill bite your hand off! XD lol j/k

  • GODDAMN TATORTOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How big is Chef's mouth?! Did you see that bite?

  • @draceanaqueen he took two bites if you look closely at the bun

  • I made this the other, it's freaking awesome!

  • The key to a killer Sloppy Joe is to toast the buns into little garlic breads! This will broaden the flavor substantially! Butter/garlic powder/paprika/toast it. Easy!

If you don't have hamburger buns on hand, just plate onto slices of toast and eat it with a fork open-face style. There is no need to handle a Sloppy Joe. I prefer Sloppy Joe's open face style.

I'm trying John's recipe tomorrow, with a cautious eye on the brown sugar (it's just a white sugar and molasses mix anyhow).

  • @ZombiedustXXX Real brown sugar isn't white sugar mixed with molasses. That's artificially created. Real brown sugar is unrefined sugar. It has molasses in it naturally, but it still is different from the brown sugar you are referring to.

  • manwich sauce with franks red hot is wayyyyyy better

  • i want a manwhich please

  • that looks delicious..and cheap

  • My recipe:

    2lbs ground beef

    1 1/2 Ragu Spaghetti sauce

1 packet of sloppy joe sauce (Kroger)

    1 tablespoon small cubed cheese

  • Mhmm Sloppy Joes <3

  • oh god that looks yummy. i'm from australia and have never tried it since this isn't very popular over here. i definitely will give it a go though!

  • I'm going to use tomato puree instead of ketchup... I hate ketchup!

  • haha i have like none of these ingredients, but i wont give up!!!!

  • I add really good BBQ sauce instead of the ketchup and brown sugar.

  • Those joes was great.

  • or you can just throw some manwich in w/ some ground beef...hahahaha

  • Food wish? NO IT'S FOOD PORN.

  • I Wont Eat This At Skool Why Would I Eat It Now?

  • @babygirl5282 because everything Chef John says and makes is magical.

  • @aDumbGorilla Ooooo.. I Guess Im Just Not Crazy For Sloppy Joes..

  • @babygirl5282 Because this is so much better than the crap they say is food at school. Until you make this, you will not know what sloppy joe is.

  • isn't it suppose to be BBQ?

  • Damn! Now I'm hungry :(

  • I shouldn't watch these stoned, when I have no food

  • You shouldn't be stoned to begin with, dopehead.

  • @Skullchaser08 dope? I dont do that crap

  • No? Then what does "stoned" mean?

I thought that meant being high on weed?

Sorry if I was wrong man, really. :(

  • way to long

  • @Tlovhak That's what she said

  • god damn it i can't stop watching your videos...

  • should be just sloppy enough lol

  • looks like shit

  • @SuperDickslap look whos talking.

  • @ChocolateRules12345 i am still looks like shit

  • - cann we us tomato sauce instead of ketchup?

  • @wolverine752419

It would not set up the same nor taste the same if using tomatoe sauce. The surgar content in ketchup for one makes this taste great. You might try it but not add as much water since the tomatoe sauce is thinner, then add 1/2 tablespoon white sugar or a little more brown to make up the difference. Good luck. Btw go to his onion ring recipe and make some of those to go wtih. WOW they are the best EVER

  • dont use manwich just use real hamburger beef and just follow the rest it good for you and great.

  • im making this for the first time tomorrow , ill be feeding 48 street children and itll be their first time to taste a recipe like this. wish me luck! thank you for this :)

  • THICK... SUCCULENT... MEAT PASTE.. those words resonated in my head

  • Does it still equal a full serving of vegetables like manwich?

  • seth rogen. i know its you..
