What do you mean "it's still alive"? No giant monster could *possibly* survive a nuclear bombardement. Keeping the creature alive would be like revolutionizing the whole genre of horror movies. :/
you honestly think thyed nuke manhatten? everything with 40 miles would be detroyed, and the radiation oveer the gulf stream, would wipe out most of europe. dont be stupid, im guessin just masses upon masses of nalpalm and over ehavy explosives
Erm, when they get in the helicopter, and they see the monster thing get bombed and the camera guy is like "yeah suck on that shit!" before it hits the helicopter i swear rob or someone says "its still alive!" maybe it could just be delayed/repeated sound? Rob couldn't of survived.
IF they recovered this of the handicam tape then it must be the camera kept working after the tunnel collapsed, the voice must be robs and therefore not only was rob still alive too but he could see the monster. thats a big fat loaded "if"
when did we lose rob then? is he even dead? if he died in the tunnel explosion then where did that little sound-bite come from?
PS. guys it doesnt say "help us" it is just the messy sound of "it's still alive" played backwards
I'm still hearing "they are alive" and "it's still alive" but when I watched it sounded like he said "now what?" or "help us" very iffy - but it casts enough ideas to make me believe there was a sequel -- what was happening everywhere else?? They never showed that....
Matt Reeves (director) stated that there's a point on the Brooklyn Bridge where HUD's camera sees someone else filming and that that instance was one possible "angle" for the sequel.
But why would it be backwards on the tape? And who was the one saying that? I didn't stay through the credits so are they trying to insinuate that the guy in the movie (can't remember his name) is saying that after the explosion or is it just some random person?
Not that it really matters, but just thinking out loud. What if Tagurato is saying it was a "satellite", but in reality it was the monster. Using the satellite excuse as a way to cover their tracks and to keep curious minds at bay. Anything is possible I suppose.
Realy... I don't know how a sequel would work, but it would be cool. Or it may just let you speculate. Thats how they led up to cloverfield. Let you speculate by letting you look at Slusho and Tagurato(the company that Rob was gonna be vice president of). Anyways. Yah that is freaky. Scared the crap outa me. The freakin bombed the heck outa that thing and it was still alive. (probably because it's body was designed to withstand strong temperatures because of it's
wow i saw cloverfield today and it was AWESOME! XD and i was thinking "its got to be still alive... i know it is" and i was thinking that if they DIDNT make a sequel it would be a really stupid idea this movie NEEDS a sequel and u thankfully have proven to me quite quickly that there will be 1 so i dont need to be wondering any longer... thanks man! and it wouldve really annoyed me not knowing :P
What exactly is your reasoning for that? I can understand the headache part, the filming almost made me puke. But is it boring because they went for the suspense angle or because you didn't get two hours of flashy, hollow effects crammed down your throat?
sounds to me that its true but why the hell would they do it backwards? i think there might be a sequal to explain the monster and this might play some part in it.
in cloverfield 2 i hope chuck norris is gettin back to duty

It wasn't a nuclear bomb bozo

Correct, it's a MOAB. Biggest non-nuclear bomb in the world that is, but still far from a nuke.

you are correct it wasn't a nuke

heres a question. why the hell did they reverse what he said???
garra1300 4 years ago
Good question. It would leave a far more surreal feeling if they hadn't reversed it.
ZZchaz 3 years ago
So that people would take the time to reverse it and stick it on youtube...
:D
No, my guess would be that they just wanted to go ahead and hint at the sequel that they're already doing, but didn't want to just say it flat out.
I personally just thought it sounded like static when I heard it in the theaters.

so it wouldnt be obvious of wat he said.

how can there be a sound clip at the end if the tape in the camera ran out?

You just know there's going to be something after this; you know, to answer some of if not all of the questions the movie left hanging up in the air.
People have been talking about this movie for 6 months after the trailer came out, and by god people will STILL be talking about it for long after.

ok whoever has yet to see cloverfield, dont.
Its a headache to watch, ultimatley too dark, and the story is booring, it take 18 minutes for something to even happen.
0 stars no one shouldbe subjected to this movie, it was as bad if not worse than the Ice Storm.
