Thanks for your comment. It's animated procedural distortion applied to a mesh with elongated faces. :-)

Thanks Ahwri! 3D is challenging at first but even toying around with it can be rewarding. Art of Illusion has a great manual and is known for its beginner-friendly interface. Give it a try!

Hm, I almost want to download art of illusion, but I have no idea how to use it--I can barely even open photoshop :P! This is cool, good job!
