  • Haha, I found this on accident. My band's name is Good Morning Captain. Look us up on Facebook, pretty cool stuff.

  • @TIPTON340 "Trader Eli" is Eli Wallach (a Broadway titan who's probably best known as the unattractive third of "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"), not Red Buttons. Wallach had a recurring role on Captain Kangaroo in the 70s, as a guy who collected things other people threw away, and found new uses for them.

  • I like how this theme used a portion of the original one (Puffin' Billy).

  • "Let me in," the voice cried softly, from outside the wooden door.

  • Listening to this Reminds Me of Old as The Hills

Housing Complexes. That Are With Many

Off The Images as Reflected. In Sooooo

    Many Good Ways.

  • I miss captain kangeroo, I grew up with it, and I remember when they tried a remake after bob keeshans death, it didn,t work . kids and adults simply couldn,t relate to the people playing captain kangeroo and mr greenjeans

  • I Remember Watching Captain Kangaroo

on A Television Back in 1974. In A Motel

    Room In Southern California. While

    Vacationing at Disneyland.

    I Remember The Channel Was:

    KCOY 12. Santa Monica.

  • Cast of Bob Newhart

    Sandy Dennis

    Red Buttons

  • Very sweet to see Sandy Dennis. I miss her.

  • @lionsgate12345 I'm right there with you.

  • I miss Captain Kangaroo.

  • I remember when they tried to revive this show on Fox Family, (Now ABC Family.) While it was great seeing Mr. Moose and Bunny Rabbit again, I really didn't like the casting of the Captain and Mr. Green Jeans. THe original will always be the best.

  • Watching this video I was suddenly 5 years old again. Long live the Captain!

  • From a little place I like to call Lynbrook, U.S.A. Thanks Captain.

  • Just curious, can someone tell me who the celebrity is who says good morning captain after the kid from the corn field? Thanks.

Love this show. Watched it every morning before I went to school.

  • @palmtreegolf Her name is Sandy Dennis. She was in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf."

  • @AvuncularFeldspar @palmtreegolf She was also in the Out-of-Towners. The original with Jack Lemon. REALLY funny film.

  • My favorite Good Marning Captain moment was wjhen the Match Game crew greeted the captain on their set (Brett, Charles, Richard, Johnny Olson & Gege Rayburn).

  • @QBCNetwork I sure wish someone would find that clip - I just LOVE "Match Game!"

  • I miss the 70s. Wonderful time to be a kid. Quality programming with good folks kids could look up to.

  • I worked at a state institution for the developmentally disabled in the 70s, and we had a young autistic boy on the dorm where I worked. He was usually in his own little world, but when Capt. Kangaroo came on and they played this them song, he would watch the TV and get the biggest smile on his face. Very nice to hear this again and think of the joy on that boy's face.

  • I would switch back and forth to Ray Rayner, Garfield Goose and Capt. Kangaroo!! before school!!!

  • Watch this before going on to school back in the 70's. The opening I will never forget. Cold cereal, the Captain and out of the door to school. What great a great time.

  • @Offthbadan Amen!

  • i was 9 years old when this was on boy giving my age away a little. captain kangaroo was my ALL TIME favorite show when i was a kid never missed an episode even watched the reruns .thanks for a blast from my past :)

  • I would like to see more of the intro's to this era seeing more of the celebs. that say "Good Morning Captain"

  • @somestink You're not alone!

  • I was 6 years old when this was on, and to this day, every morning, I wake up with this damn song in my head. Thanks for posting it!

  • I was 13 in 1975 when I first heard this version of the theme song, and I loved it back then. I remember singing the song to myself on my way to junior high. But to hear it again after 34 years is definitely refreshing. Thanks for sharing a piece of my childhood with us.

  • Wow. Thank you for transporting me to age 8! I really do wish I could go back.
