@jsking56 Oh yeah "There's a Place" is a beautiful work of pop. So underrated. Best track on the album for me too. I'll go: 1. There's a Place 2. Please Please Me 3. Twist and Shout 4. I Saw Her Standing There 5. Baby it's You 6. Boys 7. Misery 8. Do You Want to Know a Secret? 9. Ask Me Why 10. Chains 11. Love Me Do 12. A Taste of Honey 13. PS I Love You 14. Anna (Go to Him)
This was the song that hooked me to The Beatles way back in '63 and it's still as powerful and gripping as ever. Yes lads, you're still "The Greatest"!
sigu655, how dare you compare John Lennon and The Beatles with Punk.......give your head a shake!!! The Beatles had talent!! There is not one single Punk band that has any talent!!!
@jtdaly1 The Sex Pistols-and incidentally Lennon in his own lifetime said that the Beatles in Hamburg b4 Brian smoothed off their rough edges WERE punk b4 punk...smoking and spitting on stage-8 hour gigs pilled up on speed...FACT..so not that different
My fav beatles-album, it was so fresh back then as it is now.

John's voice on Twist and Shout has GOT to be a early version of what PUNK is all about. I mean, listen to him: He's rippin' it!
sigu655 2 years ago
You are right
and u know ur music
to say that
in fact the first punk song was by john lennon

if the beatles sang all of their songs, no wonder John's throat was aching. I sing a lot and if i sand all there songs i would pass out.
P.S. awesome vid
