This was just a tribute to my mother and it made her and many children very happy. There are plenty of other site that show how to make an authentic pinata. Good luck with your search.

I remember when I was 14 I tried to make one of my own. I glued individual pieces of newspaper to a balloon (with Elmers glue). Yeah that didn't work out too good, I made a huge mess. :)) Thanks for showing me the right way!
Thanks for your response. It was just in time cuz I was just about to edit pictures of Obama, Hillary, and McCain then go to CVS and print them out. I'm gonna make these pinatas and sell them on youtube, to friends and people who hate a certain candidate. Your way of making these pinatas is awesome. Thanks bro. I'll let you know how it goes.
A laser printer huh? What do you mean when you talk about getting the picture wet with the starch? Do you put the starch on the back of the pic or what? I like this idea. This really speeds up the process of having to make shapes for the face.
Soak the entire picture in starch and slap in on like newspaper. Ink will run when it gets wet, but toner won't. I suppose if you used minimal starch only on the back of an inkjet picture it might work. Also you will have to cut the edges a little to form around the sphere.
If you have a good photo editing program on your computer there is another thing to do before printing the picture. Do not SPHEREIZE the picture, instead PINCH it. This action makes the center of the picture smaller than the outside. I think it is also known as SQUEEZE. Once you place the PINCHED image on the head the look will reverse itself and the pinata will look normal. Without doing this the pinata will kind of look fisheyed. Don't sweat it. It's just a pinata.
