Tekken IS better; all the characters have reversals, you can "catch" punches and kicks with any character in Tekken, in VF5, only 3 characters have reversals. In Tekken reversals are part of the basic arsenal.
However, challenge wise the series has been in decline; I hope 6 is as tough as this game.

In the end, when you agree how both are good is a matter of preference. I prefer Tekkn 4 to 5, for example. Harder to play, more about analysing moves instead of scrubbing around.
VF is the anti scrub, tho, and its great that way.
I'm a follower of VF series and i love it and it's characters and for all of you noobs, without it there wouldn't be no 3D "beat' um ups" that soon. FV opened the doors so another great releases like tekken, DOA or soul blade could se the daylight. to play with firends i definetely prefer tekken or the recent soul calibur, but to evolve my skills my choice is FV. each one has their good and bad things. you make this another contest like unreal and quake. whitch the best? each player decides!
hmm after playing this tekken has nothing on its so fluid with 8 way movement like soul caliber and character depth ive never seen before. Just to master one character try 1/2 a year not for the casual gamer. i still love tekken but this is another level esp on the 360. mortal vs dc is cool but the moves list is lacking and plenty of things to exploit IE infinites. rent this game and be hooked its like crack. And reversals are SO HARD in this game. Really, the only one I rely on is Pai's Up/Down P+K.
I wish I got DOA4 when it came out, it looks similar to this. I really don't like Tekken 6, I'll get it, but its too...offensive for me. Not enough reward for defense.
Oh I agree with you there; her reversals are pretty annoying BUT, she does not have as many as Pai, and she does not have wrecking ball power blow attack juggles like Akira which can kill you in 4 seconds.
Actually, IIRC, Aoi has more than Pai. Pai can only counter Highs and Low single limbed attacks. Aoi can counter two handers, Lows, and somersaults. But my memory might be screwed up.
@MisterWhat T6 has so much lag in it online. And this game looks way more realistic. T6 also allows you to juggle too much, making the game way unbalanced.

The juggles, that's what makes the game stand out, such as Mortal Kombat's Fatality system, or DOA's counter system. They all have something that makes the game unique and original. Not all players play with juggling.
Stop posting your rhetorics. DOA, Tekken, VF all have their differences. You can't really a crown a series cause things change every 3-4 years. If you haven't played all of them, then your idea on which fighting game is better is going to have little to no facts in your opinion.

Tekken is good, Virtua Fighter Sucks but Soul Calibur 1 on Dreamcast IS the best fighting game ever made. Takes skill to beat a REAL player, none of this lucky punch, punch, kick crap. None of that "floaty" chracter stuff when you knoco someone in the air or trip them.
Another thing, this game did come out before Tekken in the video game world. VF was released in 93, while Tekken was released in 94 Some of you guys say Virtua Fighter is a "Tekken Wannabe". Tekken only featured a movie and had not yet released the video game. Both are awesome games, so why argue which one is better?
This Sarah had a good offensive. She left herself open with high attacks though. Regarding the game itself, you guys shouldn't say the game is bad just because your preference is something else. I love all three games mentioned: Tekken, Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter. Soul Caliber 2 is my favorite. Tekken 6 is superior to 5 in many ways, but there are some things that I don't like. Virtua Fighter 5 is definitely a great game and is a very large step up from it's predecessors. See? Preferences.

I'm not very familiar with VF at all, but is this what the movement always looks like? cause it kinda looks tacky... the moves and combos themselves are ok, but the cinematics look so strange. i think tekken accomplishes it better in that respect.

They're not really similar. Tekken is all about being on the offensive, with punches and kicks on a few buttons.
Virtua Fighter is more like Dead or Alive, minus the faster pace of DoA, and the lack of boob physics.

Just to master one character try 1/2 a year not for the casual gamer. i still love tekken but this is another level esp on the 360. mortal vs dc is cool but the moves list is lacking and plenty of things to exploit IE infinites. rent this game and be hooked its like crack. PS King is still my fav character:)

And reversals are SO HARD in this game. Really, the only one I rely on is Pai's Up/Down P+K.
I wish I got DOA4 when it came out, it looks similar to this. I really don't like Tekken 6, I'll get it, but its too...offensive for me. Not enough reward for defense.

Oh I agree with you there; her reversals are pretty annoying BUT, she does not have as many as Pai, and she does not have wrecking ball power blow attack juggles like Akira which can kill you in 4 seconds.

Actually, IIRC, Aoi has more than Pai. Pai can only counter Highs and Low single limbed attacks. Aoi can counter two handers, Lows, and somersaults. But my memory might be screwed up.

@frankyagernull Every game has its moment of lag. That's why you need to get the opponents with the right connection, which I like how T6 does that. The juggles, that's what makes the game stand out, such as Mortal Kombat's Fatality system, or DOA's counter system. They all have something that makes the game unique and original. Not all players play with juggling.

Tekken is good, Virtua Fighter Sucks but Soul Calibur 1 on Dreamcast IS the best fighting game ever made. Takes skill to beat a REAL player, none of this lucky punch, punch, kick crap. None of that "floaty" chracter stuff when you knoco someone in the air or trip them.

Another thing, this game did come out before Tekken in the video game world. VF was released in 93, while Tekken was released in 94 Some of you guys say Virtua Fighter is a "Tekken Wannabe". Tekken only featured a movie and had not yet released the video game. Both are awesome games, so why argue which one is better?

This Sarah had a good offensive. She left herself open with high attacks though. Regarding the game itself, you guys shouldn't say the game is bad just because your preference is something else. I love all three games mentioned: Tekken, Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter. Soul Caliber 2 is my favorite. Tekken 6 is superior to 5 in many ways, but there are some things that I don't like. Virtua Fighter 5 is definitely a great game and is a very large step up from it's predecessors. See? Preferences.

Nop. BIG DIFFERENCE if you play the game.
Oh and I dont recomend people to buy this game EVEN If you're a soul calibur/tekken fan. The game feat. 3 Buttons, Punch, Kick, and Guard. And the game combos are ridiculus do to the fact that almost all of them have PPPK blablabla. The game isnt good.

I'm not very familiar with VF at all, but is this what the movement always looks like? cause it kinda looks tacky... the moves and combos themselves are ok, but the cinematics look so strange. i think tekken accomplishes it better in that respect.

this game shares the same problem DOA does.. they don't give you a chance to break or counter the opponents non-stop attack. MK vs DC universe lets you.. sadly, as stupid at that game is, its better then this and dead or alive =/

Virtua Fighter 5 is not a game for everybody. It is not a casual fighter, like Marvel vs. DC.
You actually have to invest some serious time with VF5 in order to get used to a certain fighter.
