  • It was a great game... One of the few I'm sad I finished...

  • this game was absolutely awesome i got it and finished it yesterday

then i went and finished it again :B

**and you need to save your game go to shut down workbench then load your game at one part in the game

  • Twenty TEN! welll you have fun in Twenty OH four

  • the Creeper? ssss

  • What do i do? I used up all my c0dez and i can't contact Sprint, right?

  • @LucasSimmsSucks When you use all of your c0dez (they're all blocked/f-cked up/whatever), just go to The Matrix, they always put up a message on the BBS with new ones.

  • @XXXmagik98XXX Thanks!

  • The builder doesn't show up after i downloaded it........

    I DONT FRIGGIN GET IT!

  • @MixexiM *spoiler* You'll use that LATER.

  • Hey i love this VN and was wondering if any one knew any reccomendations

  • At first, I am reminded of the screen available outside of missions in X-Wing Alliance where you get messages from other characters.

Don't download that exe, Firstname! This game is a trainer on how to get viruses? (heh)

We had no local BBS in the small town where I lived, so I didn't get online until I experimented briefly with AOL on Win 3.1 in 1994. It wasn't until I a few years later that I was really able to get online through a local ISP number.

  • I adore this game.

  • I cried for a couple minutes.

  • This is great...this takes me back to my childhood...sweet memories...

  • Was wondering if there are any games like this that are similar?

    Like, romance/hacker or so?

  • Ah, a modem sound. It's been awhile since I've heard one.

  • when i have compiled emilia, every bbs is broken?

does that mean i played the game through?.

or am i supposed to do something?

  • @leksuli There's still something left to do at that point. The game has a proper ending, so when the game is finished, you'll know it.

  • @LateBlt Tell me what do i have to do.

I read from somewhere that you have to somehow kill emilia.

but how do i do that.

the only available bbs is the underground library, but it does not let me in with any password

  • @leksuli Well, I am not a walkthrough, but consider: What do you do with a program after you compile it? Compiling the program should have added another icon to your desktop in the game.

  • @LateBlt i have the same problem and the only things on my desktop are notepad, dict hacker, messages, dialer, and builder.bat :P did i fuck up?

  • @TVBlackandWhite I don't think so. It's been a while since I played the game so I don't remember the sequence of steps, but it's pretty much just trial-and-error... Just keep clicking on everything available until something works. =)

  • Great stuff. Have to check this one out since I really enjoyed the BBS era. Love the calming music too.

  • Hehe....

I'm born in '91, but I do enjoy chiptune. I don't really know too much about it and its big names, but I have a few random albums from II and ChipMusic on my MP3 player currently.

The thing is, though, while I was far too young to really be able to comprehend computer trends of old, I was still exposed to 'em.

I have vague memories of a small amber screen or the smell of the windows 3.1 tower we once had.

Learning about how these things from my past, and how they work is like magic.

  • Actually, the game came out back in February. I played it back in March and thought it was pretty cool.

  • It's quite funny - I downloaded the game and started playing it and noticed that one of the BBSes in the game is The Matrix, with a sysop called Rocky. That used to be a real BBS and the sysop was named Rocky that I used to dial into back in the day. It was a PCBoard BBS in Alabama. Makes me think the other BBSes might have been real too. AND I used to dial into it with an Amiga... This really is nostalgic to the max! :-)

  • This game was awesome. The storyline was so beautiful and this is coming from someone that was born in the internet age, no real BBSes for me :P

  • This game was awesome! Made my saturday! :) Thanks for bringing it up, LateBlt.

I will never forget you, *Emilia T_T

  • I miss the old modem sound

  • @APHEX83 i HATED the modem sound. i always had to bring a pillow downstairs with me to muffle the modem (it had no volume switch) when I used to sneak into the computer room at the dead of night.

  • Thanks for this, LateBlt! I loved this game, I Played the game for four hours while I should of been sleeping in my bed, but It was Amazingly Fun, Great Storyline, I really don't want to spoil the game for anyone... I really hope that there is a second game... I think the storyline could be continued... Thanks for Reviewing this game... and P.S: I luckily I did save, I got stuck at some point during the game :D

  • BBS' kind reminds me of an earlier version of Emailing. I also remember that dialup sound from the very first days of us having internet access via dialup.

  • I just got done playing it thank you so much for bringing this to my attenion.

I hope someone makes a much more complex sequel to this game. I really miss the old BBS days and this really brings back wonderful memories. and kinda makes me lonely for the old BBS pals I used to have. I wonder what ever happened to them.

  • Even if I did own a Commodore 64 with a modem, I didn't use it to call a BBS. My older brother probably did considering games he did find by using this technology. So, without any personal experience of BBS, I do have a nostalgia feeling, because of the dialup modem noise.

  • This did remind me of Portal even before you mentioned it. There's something about that one that really sucked me in.

  • boy this really takes me back... BBS was the huge thing for us oldies :D. I'm DLing this right now, I just hope it runs on Win 7!

  • @lucahjin I'm pretty sure it does! Have fun! :)

  • Wow! Nostalgia, indeed! This REALLY takes me back to my days ('90s) of calling all the local BBSs. It's hard to name, but there really was something special about that whole culture. Did you ever play a game called "Space Empire Elite?" I remember it being incredibly fun, especially since you could actually have wars against a rival BBS "galaxies." Good times

  • @SuperNinja147 I recall seeing it as a door game, but I didn't really get into door games too much other than Legend Of the Red Dragon, of course, and its sequel.

  • I used BBSes when I was about 10 or so. and through much of the 90s as well

I still miss them and have a bit of a project to bring some of the technology back.

  • I do remember that dial up sound from my first computer. :D

  • oh and i guess pronouncing '2010' as 'twenty-ten' would make sense, since most people wouldn't pronounce the year '1999' as the year 'one-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-nine', but i do believe either pronunciation is considered correct.

  • "Stars Come Out Brother Android" is a really relaxing track, especally if you like ambient music like me :-)
