It to sad that they are children in the world whom been not taken care of. I'm adopted because of my birth parent who didnt take care of me. When I was 4 or 5 the cops take me away from them. And they sent me the foster care. And grandma took me and I started to live with her. She was the best grandma and she still is. I met Tina and paul and they adopted me and they love me so much.
Gays should not be allowed to adopt kids. Studies of how gays adopt kids are often biased they usually only show gays who have a lot of money (like $200,000 a year income or more). Google "Full interview with Dr. Walter Schumm".
@Bestmanme08 honestly gay adoptions have absolutly nothing to do with this video. and yeah some gays may not be right parents but that doesn't mean all of them are wrong i somewhat agree with you but shouldn't it be fair as like a trial period for everybody not just gays because not all straight adoptive parents are good either so it goes both ways on the spectrom dude lol
Thank you for this. I adopted four kids out of foster care, all from the same family. Ours is an open adoption and we still visit their birth mother frequently. We have good times and sad times together and I know that our journey together will go on for a long time. Having them has changed all our lives... for the better.

This is very sad. i've always wanted a sister, so my parents are gonna do adoption. im so excited i will have a wonderful sister and give a child a home :)
One of my friends is adopted and she is sort of messed up now. Because hert parents love their biological child more. I had a sister but my parens could not adopt her, :(
we just need to neuter those repeat teenage moms so that they wont be dumb enough to bear another child that they know they will adopt to buy some crack
This is a great video. I only wish more people would get a grasp on the reality. My husband was in 18 different foster homes from age 3 to 5 (yes 5) when he was finally adopted by a family with 8 kids. He was emotionally, physically, and verbally abused. He's never mentioned anything about being sexually abused although I suspect he was. He needs constant counseling. He is a result of our system. This video breaks my heart. I know how real it is.
I was adopted 17 years ago, almost 18, and I cry at night sometimes thinking that I will be a disappointment to my biological parents as i feel of one to my adoptive parents...I hope to one day find my biological mom...Maybe she wonders on how I'm doing...Maybe she doesn't...I'm tearing up right now, I love you...Biological Mom and Adoptive Parents...I'm now 17, I hope my biological mom reads comments...
To all those who made nasty remarks- you should take a long hard look at yourselves... If you still dont think there's something wrong with your attitudes and the way you treat others, then there is no hope for you.
These kids dont ask to be put in this situation. Most foster homes are not dedicated to helping these kids and they are thrown away like garbage. Being rejected over and over by the only 'parents' they know has a seriously negative and lasting effect. They are only KIDS
Eventually they learn to reject the adults before they have a chance to reject them. It's easier than putting your heart on the line again only to have it broken for the 5th, 6th...10th time.
Im looking into adopting a 12 y/o right now. Not foster, adopt, so she knows she's a part of my family and is not in another home that's going to kick her out when she starts to act up and make my life hell! She will be the only child in my home, not just another number to add to the subsidy payment
congratulations on this video. it's wonderfully crafted and cleverly explains how a young person's experiences can influence their behaviour. i hope many more people view this.

six years ago we took in an abused, malnourished and wild 13 yr old boy. the above video text is really accurate. the past six years have been rough, when his bio family found us two years ago he went to visit, intending never to return, he returned and finished high school, we expected him to leave after that, he didn't. He is 19 now, still has issues, but this dad's life is made better every day. It was a lot of hard painful and emotional work, worth every second... teen adoption? go for it.

This video caused me goose bumps..honestly this is marvellous..I love it.
And it is so incredibly sad too..I wished parents wouldn´t have to give up their kids or just do it . And still I want to adopt a child in a couple years...God bless all the foster and adoptive families who really care for their kids and love them the way they are.

Why does everyone always try to silence those who have a negative experience with adoption just because they didn't (or weren't adopted themselves)? Everyone deserves to be heard.
Fostering, International, Domestic Infant, CPS...it doesn't matter. There is a lot more to every realm of adoption than what is presented on the surface. Not every adoptee was "saved" from a horrible life. For many of us, there was nothing wrong with our first moms but their poverty. So sad.
I can't understand how people can be so evil and wrong. It just makes me so sick.
I am 21. I have a 3 month old little girl. My husband and I are so excited to adopt and pull a life out of even a potentially harmful situation. I feel so nieve thinking adoption was such a great thing...I will make it so. Every child deserves a good home and a loving family.
My family and his have had troubled pasts...so we look forward to giving someone a bright future.
I was born 1967 adopted 1970 I was placed in foster care after my ADOPTED mother was charged with child abuse. I am 42 now and still carry the physical scars of cigarette burns on my arms and scars from having my skin scrubbed off with brillo pads during a drunken rage. My soul has been scared by the adoption, I still cry for my birth mother now.
I have three brothers that my parents have fostered since they were totally neglected by their birth Mom when they were little, alcohol and drug abuse not only destroys the abuser but destroys the life of the innocent children...they came to our home and never left because we became their home and we love them so much my parents are going to adopt them all and they will be apart of our family forever!
not all foster homes are bad, alot of kids going into care come with baggage. I've been blessed to foster 6 kids through out the 8 years I've opened my home to these wonderful kids. I have one little one who if she wasnt put into care sadly probably wouldnt have seen her first birthday. I hope you have found your forever family and that you have opened your heart to love. Its always easier to love a child when they start to trust and open their heart to it...may God bless you and send you peace
welfare took my son after 6 months in the orphange i finally sign for him to go to a family only because I thought I would never get him back your name was Lewis Lee V BIRTH 5/14/61 bEEN LOOKING FOR YOU SINCE
All of you who have posted negative comments are sick. I am adopted and have had a great experience with it. I think this was a beautiful video that shows that there are loving families willing to give a child a good home. Thanks to the person that made this. I was touched.
While I am sorry that so many children go through so many horrible things in the foster care system, I feel that this video is sad in many ways. Not all foster parents are evil. Not all case workers are corrupt. Many are trying to do good for children who need it.
Please consider renaming this video. This isn't about adoption, it is about foster care.
I watched the eyes roll and the smile (sinister) on each of my foster parents and they deserve NO thanks at all!
I thank my loving parents and myself! I am the one who made it to a good life inspite the of abuse in foster homes and regardless of the corrupt CPS. Luckly I was not adopted.
I'm a birth mom and placed by girl at birth in 2007 when I was 17. I lived with the adopted couple pre-birth (throughout my pregnancy) and its an open adoption. I have gotten to know the adoptive couple and be part of their family. I also was adopted. My mom married my adoptive dad. She then split and did drugs. I have the up most respect for the ones who give adoption a great name!
Hey..it happens..5 years old i was ripped from my home..adopted at13..i didn't want another family..i got one..no choice.I lost three sisters and a brother in the process...strangers to me now.Scars that don't heal..but they say hey...it happens...i guess i was unlucky.
Did someone call CPS because, heaven forbid, they spanked you or you got a bruise while playing? 3 months ago, maybe you wont answer, :-p
Most of the people don't realize adoption is a mostly corrupt. They acquire babies through the perverts in CPS who then place the kids into homes of perverts, be it foster parents doing it for money, or a same sex couple who want to make a fake family and indoctrinate some poor defenseless child.
If gays were able to adopt in all fifty states, there would be more homes for theses poor kids. But due to selfish fears and bigotry the children suffer yet again!
So very touching.... I know some of the feeling. There are just too many children out there that miss out on family life, the good old simple things in life and above all, real love
I just sent you my video response. I know my little boy felt like you but i fought for contact and i fought the childrens services to get him back but nothing seem to work. What people dont reaise is childrens services alienate the parents so they forget the parents, some kids never forget the love they had and start behaving this way in foster care. The childrens services use bad behaviour of the child in court and say its a result of 'abuse' parents like me cannot win against the system.love x
I'm an adopted kid!I didn't have a problem with that when I was a little kid!I was adopted when I was 6 mounts old,and my foster parents told me that I was adopted when I was 9(i guess)! But now, when I am older,I think more about it!And it scare's me!!!!
I was in foster care just 10 weeks, then adopted. I waited for my mum to come back for me; I waited for 31 years; then I realised she never was going to. She wasn't allowed to. She was told not to interfere in my life. So I went looking for her, and I found her. 31 years of separation from one another has ruined us both. Foster care sucks, but adoption is not the answer either.
As a foster to adopt social worker, I thank you for posting this video. People often don't understand why it is some of our kids do what they do. Perhaps they will have some insight now.
@IDontCare579 Sorry for your pain, but it does illustrate one of the many reasons why people are afraid to adopt older kids: No matter what an adoptive parent does or how much they love you, they'll never be enough and you'll always want the biological parent. My best friend was adopted out of foster care, but would only adopt an infant from another country.
I keep trying to campaign for adoption. I tell them that there are so many kids out there alone who need a home and with the over population issues we should take care of the ones we have here. But I keep hearing people saying that it is so hard to adopt. One lady said that her aunt and uncle were trying to adopt and the process was going on seven years. I'm at a loss...any idea what I should say to them? thank you. -bless
As a birthmother and caretaker for children in a group home I must say this: Many of the children already in the system are there due to abuse/neglect which SERIOUSLY messes up these kids and makes them EXTREMELY hard to adopt out. The state FIRST tries to reunite them with their parents (having them take classes and comply with things) which takes time and THEN as last resort places them. They can only be placed, though, when their behaviors (from abuse) have been corrected. This is why.
Thanks for putting this on. I was adopted at 4 weeks old. My brother is the favourite and gets everything but he abused sexually for 16 years so adoption is so hard. I just feel so alone and i am alone. Thanks again. It really made me cry.
thank you for posting this video...I was adopted when I was 5. I didn't really go through the foster care system, for that I'm thankful. May God Bless You and Always Remember God Loves You! I can't imagine going through this. It brought tears to my eyes. thank you once again!
Thank you for your video; it helps us adults who work with precious children like yourself to understand what you are thinking and feeling. Like you said in your video, sometimes your actions are so harsh, but truly inside your crying out. Keep speaking out and always know that there are some adults who are working VERY hard to provide SAFE, LOVING, consistent homes for hurting children.
i wont a brother so bed it kills me that no-one takes any notice of me about it but only if they new you it would be diffrent only if i new you wear up for adoption hope i would have changed your life that you had. I no it sounds mad but i took the car the other day n neally crashed it to try and get what i wont. this is my dads account plz write back.
spooonerr, I'm not sure what your is, but if it has anything to do with you thinking that going to a foster home, to have a brother, you're asking for help from the devil. And his social workers will arrange it for you. Trust in your family. They really do care about you. Some day you will understand more clearly. I pray that you don't learn the hard way, by falling victim to foster system.
I apologize. You are correct. I had my husband watch it, and he said it was similar, but the one we watched had a childs voice and was actually more graphic in discussing the things that were done to him.
not sure if you got the other i sent but it still the same i watched video every day and that is what makes me wont to adopt evan more you must have been so brave i admire you for what you did i no i sonud mad but its the truth
This is more of the horrors of the foster care system. I am saddened by it, and it does make me angry that so many innocent lives are being thrown about....whether it's the fault of the State, or the parents! Every child deserves to be loved!
I'm sorry to hear all that happened to you. I have just placed a child in adoption my second to be exact both to different families and I PRAY that nothing like that occurs. I am concerned but I have faith. again i'm sorry for what you went through
You now that the statisic are verry poor. I'm litle bit choocked about just pray act, so will every thing goe well. If you have to lett goes, I hope it's for a verry good reasons. The children needs their mom and dad.
im letting the video load completely and just of what i saw i started to cry. im an adopted child, the day after martin luther king day it will be exactly 6 years since i went into foster care and on november 19th will be 3 years since ive been adopted im so happy to have gotten a family that loves me so much thank you for sharing your story its very touching
Being a person who was adopted 23 years ago, I am glad to see more and more videos posted about adoption, but like others have said, this isn't really about adoption. I think it is very moving, but it is more about foster homes and less about adoption. Thank you for posting it though
I need to make some copies, so I can do that. Many people have asked in the past and to be honest I have not come though yet. Let me take some time over the holiday and see if I can make that happen.
The video was moving, but it isnt an adoption video. The name is misleading. The child was not adopted, there is nothing about adoption in the video at all. I dont think its the best video to show at any meetings.
It appears to me that a major overhaul of the SW system is due... these children get left out due to a slow, lethargic and sometimes impotent system that does not truly put the children first. They need to be adopted sooner.
Good film... but I'm pissed off that there are thousands more children like this boy across the U.S.
This video is so moving. W adopted our 17 year old last year after having him as a foster son for 3 years. His mother died when he was 11 and he had 13 moves between that time and when he came to us. He still thinks that anyone he lets himself love, will leave him or send him away. As a result, he is very hard to love. He is constantly sabataging his own progress in life. I think all caseworkers, judges, guardian ad litems and foster parents in training should see this.
This vid really made me cry...my cousin is adopted from foster care...he moved and moved and moved to many many homes and well yeah the last stop was at my Uncle and Aunt's house. They were really helpless when they see their little boy throw tantrums and break things but all they wanted to do was to love him and make him feel that he IS part of the family.I showed my Uncle and Aunt this video, they showed their little boy and the family reunited...I juz wanna say a big thank you for this vid
This is one amazing video. I have been a foster parent for 28 years, I have also adopted 4 children. I am so touched by this video, it is so important that anyone who cares for, or wishes to care for these kids see this video. I would love to use this for foster/adoptive parent training, this is by far the very best video I have ever seen for explaining what our kids go through and are like.
Eight months ago, we adopted a 12 year old boy. Life with his bio family was marked by malnourishment and abandonment; he was shuttled to different foster homes; and in the last one, he was brutally abused. The last few months have been difficult ones. Your video gave me back my strength, and reminded me of what we owe this wonderful, troubled boy. Thank you.
jdavis1178, good work. I think you hit the nail right on it's top by this film. I hope you will make more of it. I hope that you will make some that tells the story of cps policy, please!
This video is the story of so many children in the foster care system. It could be my son. Thank you for making such a heartbreakingly accurate, but true depiction of this. I think it should be required for everyone touched by older child adoption. From the police to the workers to the parents. And for those who criticize our kids, how we parent them and why they do the things they do. I know I'm going to watch it repeatedly just so I don't forget why my little boy is the way he is.
This video should be required watching for every social worker. Both when they start their job, and every time they move a kid. I know so many parents that are dealing with kids just like this. My son is adopted from foster care, and it could be him that this is written about.
This is wonderful, I'm sending it many people I know. I'm an adoptive parent of a child from foster care and this reminds me to have more compassion when I'm tired and worn out.
I'm lucky to have parents who love me and I feel so spoiled.

Why were you taken from your REAL family?
Did someone call CPS because, heaven forbid, they spanked you or you got a bruise while playing? 3 months ago, maybe you wont answer, :-p
Most of the people don't realize adoption is a mostly corrupt. They acquire babies through the perverts in CPS who then place the kids into homes of perverts, be it foster parents doing it for money, or a same sex couple who want to make a fake family and indoctrinate some poor defenseless child.

i hate the welfare system they think taking the children away helps,,it dont,,they usually go from home to home its totally wrong..
lynnej1970 2 years ago
If gays were able to adopt in all fifty states, there would be more homes for theses poor kids. But due to selfish fears and bigotry the children suffer yet again!

So very touching.... I know some of the feeling. There are just too many children out there that miss out on family life, the good old simple things in life and above all, real love

I just sent you my video response. I know my little boy felt like you but i fought for contact and i fought the childrens services to get him back but nothing seem to work. What people dont reaise is childrens services alienate the parents so they forget the parents, some kids never forget the love they had and start behaving this way in foster care. The childrens services use bad behaviour of the child in court and say its a result of 'abuse' parents like me cannot win against the system.love x

the childrens courts are closed coursrts they say for the childs protection thats bs,,its because its so corrupt..

IDontCare579 3 years ago 9
@IDontCare579 Sorry for your pain, but it does illustrate one of the many reasons why people are afraid to adopt older kids: No matter what an adoptive parent does or how much they love you, they'll never be enough and you'll always want the biological parent. My best friend was adopted out of foster care, but would only adopt an infant from another country.
BillyBobKumar 9 months ago
I keep trying to campaign for adoption. I tell them that there are so many kids out there alone who need a home and with the over population issues we should take care of the ones we have here. But I keep hearing people saying that it is so hard to adopt. One lady said that her aunt and uncle were trying to adopt and the process was going on seven years. I'm at a loss...any idea what I should say to them? thank you. -bless
dianaandjackiejfk 3 years ago

Thank you for your video; it helps us adults who work with precious children like yourself to understand what you are thinking and feeling. Like you said in your video, sometimes your actions are so harsh, but truly inside your crying out. Keep speaking out and always know that there are some adults who are working VERY hard to provide SAFE, LOVING, consistent homes for hurting children.

spooonerr, I'm not sure what your is, but if it has anything to do with you thinking that going to a foster home, to have a brother, you're asking for help from the devil. And his social workers will arrange it for you. Trust in your family. They really do care about you. Some day you will understand more clearly. I pray that you don't learn the hard way, by falling victim to foster system.

This is more of the horrors of the foster care system. I am saddened by it, and it does make me angry that so many innocent lives are being thrown about....whether it's the fault of the State, or the parents! Every child deserves to be loved!

Being a person who was adopted 23 years ago, I am glad to see more and more videos posted about adoption, but like others have said, this isn't really about adoption. I think it is very moving, but it is more about foster homes and less about adoption. Thank you for posting it though

Please tell us how to get a copy to show at meetings of potential foster and adoptive parents.

I need to make some copies, so I can do that. Many people have asked in the past and to be honest I have not come though yet. Let me take some time over the holiday and see if I can make that happen.

Thanks so much. I work at Children's Home Society in NC and would love to share your video.

The video was moving, but it isnt an adoption video. The name is misleading. The child was not adopted, there is nothing about adoption in the video at all. I dont think its the best video to show at any meetings.

My husband and I are currently going through training and adopt through the foster system.
This video touchs the very core of my heart knowing that our child is out there somewhere feeling alone, scared and hurt.
The system is corrupt, it shouldn't take this long to put these little angels into the homes of people who will love and nuture them.

How this video went from 5 stars to 4 , I will never know. Heart felt and true! I think our Republican friends have visited. That explains alot.

Thank you.
