  • Great interview, thanks a lot :) Good to know we can expect a new PT album this summer!

  • If i was a director i would invite you Mr Wilson =)

  • Whenever i hear wilson talk about an artist i start looking up his music... I think im hoping stevens brilliance will rub off on me.

  • @Zoaguyver It's called charisma, not brilliance. Don't feel dwarfed by him. He's really not all that. He's just confident, not wise.

  • ...so he doesn't consider how Colin would feel about his writing? :(

  • If i could meet anyone i would pick steven wilson or mikael akerfeldt

  • next year woohoooo

  • YEAH SCOTT WALKER!

  • Fuck mainstream....:-p

  • Aw, I was hoping for a part 6. ;/

  • You hear that? New Porcupine Tree record in a year!

  • Fair play to Steve, for someone that makes so so much music, the turnaround in which music is released by him is incredible.

  • Hmm, I'm writing the script for a Fantasy/Action/Drama movie at the moment. I'd love to have Steven Wilson do the soundtrack. :)

  • So wonderful to hear him in this freedom of writing purely for himself on his solo work... ,of course his other projects with his fellow musician friends are nothing short of brilliant, great.. i like the black shirt also.

    :~

  • If you are watching this video and are a Porcupine Tree fan, go download Scott Walker's The Drift.

Whether or not you enjoy it, you won't regret the experience.

  • @JBT24 Agree with this one hundred percent. I love The Drift. I have only listened to it a handful of times during 3 years, but that's because it's an album that doesn't need dozens of plays to be memorable. The first listen was the strongest musical experience I have ever had.

  • @JBT24 Funny you say that 'cus two months ago somebody on last.fm told me that I should check that album up when I loved Wilson's Port Rubicon so much. I bought it last month but it haven't arrived yet. It really sucks when you actually buy the music but have to wait many extra weeks when you just could have it on your computer in a couple of minutes.. I won't give up though, no way I will download it! When it arrives I'm gonna listen to it instantly in my room while looking in the booklet.

  • @PrickyKorv Dude, you will love The Drift if you liked Port Rubicon. It's my fave track from Insurgentes because it is LITERALLY like 90% influenced by The Drift. Happy listening!

  • @JBT24 Whats it about?

  • @wildwomenneverdie The album is the most unique and extreme avant garde piece I've ever heard. It is my third favorite album ever and Scott Walker describes it as "blocks of sounds with no arrangements". The album is incredibly difficult to process or enjoy since it's considered one of the scariest albums of all time, even though I only recommend your first listen be in a dark room alone at night. Frankly it's a masterpiece imo, and i'm glad Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt agree.

  • @JBT24 I also think that those who like Scott Walker's album should check out Kayo Dot (Choirs of the Eye or Dowsing an Anenome with Copper Tongue are good starters) and/or check out their previous incarnation called "maudlin of the Well" if your interested in the porcupine tree/opeth dynamic :)

  • @mobman47 I'm familiar with Kayo Dot's Coyote and maudlin of the well. Both are pretty experimental but I really enjoy them both.
