Look I see it this way..The Zune is better in every aspect. sound quality depends mostly on headphones. you get some nice quality headphones on an ipod, and its amazing. oh, and there is a 160 gb ipod, i believe that beats out a 120gb zune.

my thinking is that if you want a zune touch or an ipod touch, go with the zune. the ipod touch was okay for a little, but the apps got boring, and there was very little music and video space. with zune classic vs. ipod classic, DEFINITELY go for ipod classic. HUGE memory sace, HUGE battery, and an all around great product. the ipod classic 7th gen is definitely the best mp3 player on the market. sorry bill gates.

Do you have any idea what I'm talking about? Read my comment that begins with "OH YEAH". So it's not the headphones at all. Putting the best sounding headphones will expose the sound faults of any device, and it especially exposes the ipod. That's why I'm telling Ipod users to stick with their premium headphones, or else the sound will sound weird. The main problem is....most ipod users have never listened to a real music device like the Cowon. Zune has ok sound, but its not bad.

Try other headphones...There's a lot out there in the market for only 100, which is around the bose headphones, which sound better than bose. A lot aren't well known because its not "bose" or "Shure" But you have to listen to them from a friend or something, because there probably aren't any to try out at stores. You have to buy them online. Bose in ear headphones are a rip-off unfortunately. It should be 50 dollars. =_=

i like how with the zune you can straight download stuff to your zune anywhere you are, just thru wifi & even listen b4 you buy. ipod classic cant do that. plus you can link your xbox live account & buy stuff with points off ur xbox account. another one for zune. and last but not least, the zune slider pad was rated to be more touch sensitive, and like Mobilitysite said the harder you flick the faster you search. with ipod it stops scrolling once yu take ur finger off.

zune hasnt had as much publicity as the ipod, so its a wonder why they have little market share, so research b4 you talk. comparing an ipod to a zune is like comparing a ferrari to a ford gt supercar. the ferrari is flashy, fancy, & very expensive; however, its very exclusive & it doesnt perform nearly as well as the ford gt, which has more comfortable features too. this comparison is very similar to the ipod vs. zune. and like the ford gt, zunes havnt got as much publicity as the ferrari/ipod.

well im guessin you're a fan of asian & european cars. First off, i'll say that the ford gt rated really high by a BRITISH car tester over the ferrari (rated by Jeremy Clarkson of top gear). and he rated the ford gt as good as the ferrari enzo (fastest ferrari) which goes the same top speed as the ford gt but for $1.2 mil over the ford's $200 G's. But like i said before the ferrari does have the suspension advantage.

I have an Ipod nano, and a Cowon D2. I think my Cowon is a lot better, sound quality is 9 out of 10. But the famous ipod sound quality is really worse probably 6.5 out of 10(Sounds really weak). I had a chance to test the zune couple days ago, I think the zune sound quality is about 8 out of 10. Since I need more space, I think I'll get the Zune 80 next week. All device was test with my audio technica DJ headphone. Please no argue, just telling what I think.

ive had ipod nano, zune 8gb, ipod classic 80, and zune 30. and ive gotta say, zune is undoubtedly better. they are nearly identical, except zune has wireless sync, radio, and music sharing... although itunes does run slightly more smoothly than zune software, doesnt really matter, zune really is better.

im not interested in arguing with anybody, i just wanna let anybody know who might be looking into buying a zune or ipod my opinion.

Zune is less popular, but that doesnt mean its not as good. Zune may not have a phone but considering its made by microsoft windows mobile counts when compaired to iPhone, and there are hundreds of phones running windows mobile.. iPod also wasn't the first MP3 player.. so it wasn't really there own invention. iriver created a very similar model to iPod before iPod was ever released. Microsoft has there own computer too, WINDOWS. Which sells about 30 times more then Mac OS does..

I know of a few. Just because everyone owns the same item doesn't mean that you should to. Popularity has nothing in relation to quality. I have the classic and the sound quality of my songs aren't so great. Every time I listen to it through the same headphones off of my laptop. The sound if far more crisper and had far more depth.
