Isn't "rose hair" kind of a bad name for g.rosea? Chilean rose is their real common name isn't it? And the hair isn't even hair but bristles/setae (from what I've read anyway).. Bah... common names are just confusing xD Although for some species I'm glad there are common names, like for c.crawshayi! I've never been able to pronounce it. Good thing they changed it to p.muticus haha!
She's really pretty! I have one too and she just started to molt. But is it normal for them to not eat before moltin? My tarantula sometimes wont eat and I've tried to give her tebo worms that are the common food tarantulas over here eat but she refuses to eat them. By time to time the store runs out of tebo worms and I was forced to go to my back yard and give some beetles, and liked them alot.
@tarantulaguy1976 thanks for all your help! i just turned the light off lol. the idiot at the pet store said it would be fine and he also said their fangs are not sharp enough and theyre not strong enough to bite, is that true? also could the heat lamp be a reason that i havent seen my rosie eat and she doesnt go after the crickets instantly like she used to? thanks
@jdh3steelcity The funny thing about Rosies is that they will go on unexplained fasts for sometimes months at a time. I have a few that would just eat and eat, and then not touch anything I offered them for six months.
hey rob, i have a question.... i think i found a new species of spider... i live in tennessee and i was out looking for spiders in the woods and i fount this spider to my interest... its a really agressive eater. its brown with some diff darker colors and aint very big, it also has a poiny abdmen..... i'v looked on all kinds of sites and cant find it any wheres. i currently have it in a inclosure at my house. it seems to adapt to a new inclosure really quickly and webs up every thing. reply plz?
hey love your vids! it gets pretty cold in my house so i have a 50w infared heating lamp for my rose hair in a 10 gallon cage. she used to feast on crickets but i have not seen her eat in month and say i put 5 crickets in her cage ill find 4 dead or even 5. im getting worried cause she used to attack em right away now nothing. would the heat lamp have something to do with this and i have also changed the set up a few times. i am new to tarantuals so any info would help thanks!
Hey Rob, I love your videos. I have a G. Rosea as my first T. She's really easy to maintain(in Phoenix so the humidty/indoor temps are perfect) She costs about $0.50 a week to feed. Probably the easiest pet I have. I get her out when shes outside of her log and I'm in the mood to handle her. She's really docile when I handle her, all she ever does is poop on me.
I was thinking about getting a L. Parahybana. They kind of strike me as a very large version of what I already have. Whats your take?
Hey Rob, I bought a T that was supposed to be a P. Regalis but they owned got them mixed up with a P. Miranda or a P. Ornata, I don't remember which one he said, but is there any way to tell the difference between them as a sling? Thanks.

My RCF Rosie is one of the worst, if not the worse for defensive behaviour of my all my Ts... I have videos of her in a threat posture!!! But she is gravid.. But she has never been nice... lol
This is very interesting, my G rosea does the same thing with her food.. she puts her foot on it until it stops moving but then she doesn''t eat the prey item. She is more inquisitive than anything I guess.
really nice rosea! Av got 8 t's my rosea still my fav never been aggresive always happy to sit on my hand she's sweet! My obt thats a different story haha
thank you rob she is so beautiful :) i missed my baby girl i cant wait to hold her again :) when i get her ill take a pic with her on my face for ya lol
@lemonhead786 i wanna say that one person doesnt defend our country. i appreciate the gratitude though and for me specifically i havent earned it but this uniform i put on every day has many times over. and the men and women that continue to fight for us deserve recognition. thank you to those that support us. it means more to us than you would realize :)

TheRampage546 3 months ago
Hey!
Sorry but look´s more like Grammostola porteri...
G. porteri was often sold as "grey G. rosea" but today it´s an own Species.
Rosea has a red - brown groundcolor with brown - red haires.
Porteri has a black groundcolor with grey - brown haires and can be a little bit bigger than rosea. Both Species have a "metallic pink" Carapax.
I have a G. porteri at home. It´s the same Tarantula like this one in your Video.
And before i forget it: Great Video, very nice Tarantula! ;-)
