The young man's artistry and technical acumen is unquestioned. It is that strange touch of eccentricity that puts him just slightly out of the camp of normative Chopin performance. He will no doubt outgrow this excess of bravura (with the right coaching).
Incredibly similar to Pogorelich's version of this Scherzo. The tempo, touch and phrasing is the same and EQUALLY inspiring! A beautiful performance with great drama and charm.
Pwning Avdeeva.

Hey, I'm sorry for the Chopin Etudes in the background, but that was me practising ;-)
For some reasons the sounds/vibrations from the piano must have transferred over to my headphones to the audio signal.
I could just rerecord it 'clean', but then you'd have nothing to complain about :-)

@HotslutGG Please do! I'm grateful for the upload as it is, but clean would be better. Pretty good, isn't it?

@chopinrachliszt I think Pogorelich's arpeggios sweeps have more clarity. Probably from Trifonov half-pedaling?
ilikehaku1100 1 year ago
He was so unique in Chopin

Trifonov's performance of this scherzo is significantly better than Avdeeva's, in my humble opinion.
