  • Aw they look so fluffy :)

  • Great video. I've got two questions, please send me an answer.

Do you keep them in the same cage? Have you bought them together?

    Thank you

  • Those beaks are meant to splinter their wooden toys, yet he just sticks his hand right in them.

If that isn't bravery, then it sure is trust.

  • Hey everyone-

I have a request of you to check out my channel ? We're currently editing it, but once its finished they're will be bird videos on, Macaws, Parrots, Conures, Parakeets, love birds and more! They're will also be fun facts, Links & Pages to info on different species of bird, and helpful tips to choosing the right bird for you! Pass this on please!

  • I noticed that often macaws and parrots use to climb, even if they could fly. Anyone knows why?

  • @78kokka well, when macaws and parrots are in the wild, they have alot of use to need to fly, such as flying away from predators. But, in captivity, they dont have much reason to fly unless its training, or possibly they dont want to be held. Out in the wild opposes a bigger threat to them than in the wild. So climing is just fun and easy for them most of the time.

  • @78kokka It's a mixture of- they aren't pressured for survival like in the wild, so there's no need to hurry.. and.. Also, when climbing, they some times climb laterally along sides or up which would take much more energy to fly through than climb through.

  • Too cute for words!

  • i just love parrot tongues...its like a cute little alien

  • What a cute goofy pair they are :)

I'm always so weary of birds with such large powerful beaks tho - you have good trust in them as they do with you

  • Your actually being a little rough on them the noises indicate that as well, while they are friendly extra care does need to be shown even if they are 'used' to you. Birds DO NOT like being touched on their wings that is why they spend hours preening after.

You obviously take care of them but you dont have the gentle touch that should be given.

Picture yourself a defenseless bird. Exactly

  • I love birds very much , personally this is heaven for me.

  • Like a Boss

  • why are thay trying to eat you ? :D

  • Doesn't it scare you to put your hands in their beaks and get really playful with them?! In addition to having those big sharp beaks, they also have 30% of their muscles in their heads to crack Brazil and licuri palm nuts with ease. Imagine what even a little nip could do to your hands!

  • @kingjayapala From what I know, they are the most playful and peaceful type of macaw, of course, rough handling COULD also cause them to bite. They seem to tolerate the playing, and if they wanted to, they could break his hand

  • I absolutely LOVE these birds. I wish I had enough money go down to Brazil and buy a few million acres of the Pantanal and Cerrados ecosystems and hire natives to protect them instead of trap trapping them so that they could be around forever.

  • @kingjayapala Oh man, it's nice to see that there are like-minded people about conservation of the species. That's actually why I'm not so opposed to breeding - better to keep the species SOMEHOW than to have them die out forever in the wild. :c

  • @Sprinklesonmydonut

Actually I still oppose breeding because domestication ruins the species. It has been found that cockatoos who are hand fed as young chicks do not know how to mouth feed their babies when they have kids. In training them and breeding them to better be able to serve at the pleasure of their owners, they are quickly becoming as far apart from their bretheren as dogs from wolves. Also birds are smuggled in to breed. Only a very ethical breeder should ever be trusted.

  • Macaws look very healthy

  • 3:03 LOL at him dangling

  • I wish i had one of those!!!

  • Psittaciformes are my favorite order of birds!!!!

  • Am I the only one who think their growls are amusing?

  • ♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥~~♥

Ich Such noch einen Hand Samen Ara ;-) wer einen zu Verschenken hat bitte bei mir Melden. Unter der Ruf Nr. 0351-4841688 ♥ Mercy ♥ Danke

  • my fave Parrot

    How old are they?

  • my fave Parrot

  • -.- Are you fucking kidding me guys? Do some research on these birds. They shouldn't even be pets at all. And good luck actually owning one unless you're rich.... and have no conscience

    .

  • @Carmenellie so why are you looking up videos on pet macaws, when u disagree with owning them?

  • AWWWWWWW SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!

  • be careful one of them don't chew the other eyes out...

  • Are all Hyacinth's this Huge

  • @Cristiano120100 yes. they can get up to 4 1/2 feet long

  • Awww she's a jealous alice ain't she? She's all NO PET ME PET ME!

  • its blu

  • so fukin cute i cant wait to start earning money .this the first thing in mind A MACAW ! :) :) mans best friend :P hehe

  • I'm interested in a pair of hyacinth macaws for reasonable price in the U.S. Any body know where???

  • Where would you get a hyacinth macaw in the US?

  • @CrazyPuddingCup From a private bird breeder. Its not impossible to find them in the US...its just crazy expensive. Hyacinth Macaws are extremely endangered, and there's a lot of hoops you have to jump through when getting one. Keep in mind, also...Hyacinths cost around $10,000. And last I heard, you have to sign papers that state that you agree to breed your hyacinth to keep population up. These birds are native to Brazil, and because of illegal exporting, have wound up on the endangered list.

  • They've got intimidating beaks which are even more intimidating when you consider they crack open palm nuts all day like fortune cookies.

    Very cool birds.

  • I WANT THESE 2 PARROTS IN THE WORST WAY......OH MY GOODNESS....THEY ARE SO ADORABLE~~~ ARE THEY FOR ADOPTION?

  • beautiful birds. i make them of felt because they are so cute

  • hes SOOOO CUTE but arent they endangered?

  • good grief do hyacinth macaws have nasty looking beaks.

  • Those beaks are effin' huge!

  • Clearly they don't like the way this guy is doing it to them -,-

  • ITS BLU AND JEWEL

  • sweet...

  • 1:37 talk to the claws talk to the claws

  • @ShadowShadow1209 there called tallens

  • how much do they caust

  • the hyacinth macaw sounds like a dinosaur or a pirate

  • The largest parrot in the world that requires experience and effort, and NOT for a brand-new parrot owner. Start with a Budgie, end with a Hyacinth.

  • Totally agree...Scarey, how many people think they could just go run to the store and buy a couple-geeeze! Don't the nuts they need cost around 250.00 a month?

  • @CockatooMan actually end with a palm cockatoo if you can afford one.

  • @CockatooMan

It would also be good to volunteer at a parrot shelter to get to know how birds become once they're grown up. One should see how a cockatoo proof house looks and whether or not one is willing to tolerate the biting, screaming, and all the rest while empathizing with the bird about what its like to be behind bars without ever having committed a crime and to be a social creature frequently kept in solitary confinement.

  • @CockatooMan

    Hahaha, what's in the middle?

But in all seriousness, as a long-time budgie owner, it is absolutely crucial that people realize that a pet as intelligent as a parrot is truly a commitment. Most of these birds have lifespans longer than dogs or cats, and "experience" is difficult to measure on the scale of "start with" and "end with". It's really more important about the journey, and each bird brings its own remarkable ways.

  • they both tried to eat you lol

  • how much would an average one of these cost?

  • jeez the amount of times you poked them in the eye haha

  • God, their beautiful. My girls are beautiful too, but the Hyacinths are bigger, kindof magestic really ^^

  • Gees, their head is the size of a hand..

Love this, i could have stand there and watched them for hours.

  • aww the real rio

  • @thermiscira look up spix macaws! Those are the real Rio. But they are all amazing creatures of nature!

  • @zhenry2 oh thanks for the info

  • imagine the bite from that thing holy shit

  • @marciii411 off go the fingers. I was an owner of a Scarlet Macaw and it bit off my small index finger. The first thing I did was put the parrot away in the cage (they are worth more than my finger lol), and then I wrapped my finger in a tissue to be surgically reattached in hospital. You do have to be careful as they can really do some damage. Hyacinths are generally more docile however.

  • Comment removed

  • Such funny feathery friends :) iwould like these, you actually can let them into ur house?

  • lol they play just like my 2 hyacinths Sophie and Atlas

  • Macaws are massive!

  • They are so expensive. I have had several Macaws but never on of those.

  • Seus americanos fdp, como podem vender nossos bixos! Compram do mercado negro pra venderem ai! Vão pra puta que paril!

  • Who the f**** would dislike this????

  • I'm getting a macaw,

    I love those birds!!!

I want a rare blue one

    but there 10 grand

  • they are very jealous which means they should be good at learning. you should teach them stuff.

  • There beautiful

  • theyr so funny looking playin...a small boy and big girl. are they a couple?

  • are theytrying to bite you?? btw can they bite off your finger??

  • @sheyla2003 They were playing, not biting him. And yes, they could easily take off a finger.

  • the macaws were mean because they didnt want to be pet,

  • omg i could have watched them play for hours!!!

  • Its like "Help me you bitch!!!" and she is saying "nope.. gona make u fall."

  • it looks like a Lear's Macaw! are u sure it's a hyacinth?

  • @HopeDiamondSS16 The Lear's macaw is smaller and extremely rare, this is definetely a hyacinth

  • @Cristiano120100 i know, im just saying the markings around the beak look like a Lear's

  • @ThatDelhikid wicked i justed looked them up (id heard of them but never looked into them) its what blue is off rio! i thought it was a hyacinth with they yellow dropped for asthetic apeal. there were even fewer black footed ferrets and we brought them back ( they were harder to breed too) so th spix's have a shot

  • They are so big, yet so gentle.

Female hyacinth: "Ahh, now you are off your top most perch. Who's at the top now, eh? Who's the bird in charge here? Me!"

  • How much do those usually cost

  • @linky7980 from 8,000 to 10,000 dollars, but many websites ion the internet have Hyacinths for free adoption. I wouldn't recommend you to buy one from the internet because it may be fraud; but i have seen many for free adoption. However these animals require space and time devoted to them, so they are suitible for anyone

  • Wow, my hand would invert on itself when it got within a foot of that beak.

  • 2008 were only 6,500 of that kind lived in freedom. If I would have one I would travel with him where his kind lives and let him free.

  • @artfantasies Its very difficult for hand-reared parrots to survive back in the wild. That's why its so important to preserve the wild population.

  • Such beautiful animals. I'm glad you've found good homes for them. :)

  • thats trust

  • Do you need a licence to breed macaws in New Jersey???????????

  • aww .. It's so cute how they stick their tongue out to taste and touch...

  • At least $20 a pop in a pet store....beautiful birds! so playful, don't sell em... keep them forever!

  • @MsKellerd you mean $12-1500 right? you can only get a budgie for $20.. lol.

  • you mean $10,000 right, hy macaws are the most expensive species, u can only get a bg macaw for 1200

  • @MsKellerd

What are you talking about? These birds are 12-18 thousand dollars. And you can't get them at pet stores. Because of new bird trading laws, these birds are extremely hard to find in the market...

  • @MsKellerd If you're buying one of these guys for $20 it probably has the plague and you're saving the seller's life by taking it. They do cost tends of thousands of dollars. You should also never buy a parrot from a petstore unless they can provide documentation from a licensed breeder. Otherwise it's almost guaranteed to be wild-caught, and that's not only a wild animal but it was taken illegally. That's the sort of thing that almost drove these animals extinct.

  • the good thing is that this beautiful and magestic macaw is easy to find. AT LEAST MANKIND SAVED SOMETHING!

  • @MOSMIO There is a similar looking macaw that has white areas around its beak, blue feathers and a yellow belly. Those are often called "blue and gold macaws" and are a far, far more common species. These hyacinths are far more rare and precious.

  • @DonLangosta oh, well, at least ppl like u care for these birds!

  • Aww my Salmon Crested Cockatoo did the same thing. :) And for everyone saying he's bothering the bird, if the bird wanted to, it could rip his finger off no problem. Playtime!

  • awwws they are adorable.

    and so beautiful

i am doing a project on endangered species of amazon and picked them .

wish they were in their wild life but they sure got a new loving family

  • quick question, can i have them in minnesota like get them from some breader

  • @vicous656 i think you should check " so you want to own a parrot?" video

  • They act like dogs!!! hahaha that's awesome! I would love to have one, but I'm only 16 and I still have a long way to go before owning a parrot that huge,

  • i wish i could do a pull up with my jaws alone

  • I want a macaw!

  • are they good for familys

  • @reptilebreeder101 Yes, as long as you have enough time to learn about them and spend with them, space, and money

  • @goldencockatoo Thing looks pretty formidable, what would happen if it gets angry and bites at full strength? Probably take a finger of, I wouldn't want kids around it

  • @reptilebreeder101 please do a LOT of research on parrots. They aren't like dogs and cats at all. They need much much more attention and care, and these birds can live for longer than humans so remember it's a lifetime commitment !

  • @thecommercialedge of chorse i would like to keep a hy macaw but there very rare to find on pet stores and quite expensive online

  • @reptilebreeder101 No. Parrots usually bond to a single person, the one who handles them the most. They tend not to like anyone else and will bite. The ones in this video are very gentle but that beak CAN cause some real damage, especially if a young child is pestering the animal. You can break them of that habit and make them friendly to people in general but it takes a ton of work and expertise.

Birds just aren't like mammals, or reptiles for that matter.

  • @reptilebreeder101 dude u would only get it if ur a president in my local pet store they cost 30,000 to 50,000 dollars

  • It looks like their always smiling when their trying to bite you.

  • houwe bek jonge die zijn wel te koop

  • houwe bek jonge die zijn wel te koop

  • Hyacinths are really sweet and playful birds. They will never intentionally bite your finger off as many people fear, unless you really piss it off.

  • 1:57 rawr!

  • ooorh you cant say bye bye and let the poor bird hang there requesting help due to that bully girl :D

  • It's funny how easily he can take your finger off :)

  • Will the cost of Hyacinths bred in captivity in the U.S. ever fall down in price range to that of Greenwings, Blue and Golds or Scarlets? More places breed them than before but they still cost $12,000 plus. Some places still charge $20,000 for weaned babies.

  • @dcentral most likly not there are vary few unrealted birds to make the poupulation and people are VARY greedy and would never want to lower the price

  • So cute and beautiful!

just getting alittle sacred when i know what they can do to your fingers :)

  • i dont know why but those birds look like robots to me lol

  • hes all like get ut FOOT out of my FACE her ill bite it off! nom nom nom! lol

  • I work at a zoo..and we have a hy macaw named sercies...me and her play like this every morning. she is the sweetest bird in our collection..she looves to play peek a boo with me.

  • im absolutely terrified of these only cause of their beak it scares the hell outa me its like one bigass knife and its a ticking time bomb waiting to cut your fingers off

  • how much would it cost to take care of one of these a year, aside the cost of the bird and its cage

  • Parrot: TIME FOR TICKLES!!!!

  • Amazing Blues !!!

  • These birds are so beautiful, and BIG! They remind me of dinosaurs.

  • @LovePeachyLovebirds

Good observation as you are correct. One of the few living decendents of dinosaurs per the Discovery Channel.

  • What a nice piece of Animal....:O)

  • The Hy Macaws are my favorite parrot, they are just so beautiful, are they your birds in the video?

  • @CubbyPaw They were our birds, and have since been placed in two different loving homes.

  • Their beaks look a little long... is that okay for them? Most Macaws can't eat comfortably if their beaks are that long..

  • @Pop12646Okami Hyacinth macaws have longer than average beaks, so yes, it's normal.

  • i love this video! these birdies are soo funny

  • This is the best footage I've seen of macaws. I loooove the male! What a showoff! :)

  • they breed good?

  • that's a bigass bird...

  • @drago884

yes, the largest of all Macaws.

  • what store is this?

  • What beautiful, beautiful birds! I have a yellow Nape Parrot from the Congo. I really want a Hyacinth though.

  • hey i've pet one of theese cockatoos at a bird store in scarsdale NY its called bird jungle and she was really sweet towards me and i was the only one who could actually pet her, are they naturally nasty birds or are they very sweet?

  • @rick130 dude...wtf?!?...does it look like a cockatoo?...does it have a crest?...no!!! thats because its not a cockatoo!!!....do your research!!!

  • That's odd, I thought they were gently =(

  • these birds are so cute and they should be takin care of

  • Those are very beautiful birds! Is this breed of macaw noisy like the others?

  • They are beautiful! But their beaks are so huge!!! I bet they could take off a finger if they got irritated enough...the look really sweet though!!!

  • TO THOSE WHO WANT A MACAW or EXOTIC BIRD: Birds live to be +80 yrs old and need daily care & social interaction or they go crazy. They BOND with the owner like a mate & need smart owners to care for these amzing exotic creatures. They love to play. Always keep your hands clean. They also are messy, poo and molt, periodic replacement of feathers. Besides the flight color feathers there is the down feathers that gets all over. Wounderful to interact with for adults not kids.

  • @geeflyboy

yes, people often buy Parrots not thinking about the LONG term commitment. Daily cleaning of cages & perches, AM & PM of good nutrition/diet, love and attention most of the day, etc etc. I often think these birds should not even be captive for our enjoyment. Very difficult for them to get the attention they need under captivity as they do in the wild. However I am a Macaw owner and have had parrots for over 30 yrs. Just know they need near constant attention.

  • not mine im gettin 2 for free

  • Some very generous people are giving me 2 9 month male and female hyacinths Im exited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beauty color... Prettiest blue color in the world! - When I get enough money I want one.

  • I used to be afraid of hyacinth until I met one in person and realized that it was gentle giant.

  • Your finger tastes like chicken

  • so where is the GOlden COckatoo?

  • These birds are absolutely captivating. Beautiful.

  • you got guts im afraid to go near hyacinths

  • has she ever hurt you or have you been bit hard by a Hyacinth before? That was INDEED FUNNY with the bird hanging off the end of the table edge.

  • I really...REALLY love this video. I continually have to come back and watch it. They remind me of muppets....

  • Those beaks can almost bite a finger off, but they are gentle creatures. They tend to be one people birds and actually bond with people for life, and they live longer than most people.

  • @gmcjetpilot lol those beaks can bite a broomstick in half and open macadamia nuts let alone bite a finger off! hover, these birds are too gentle to even be tempted to do something like that! (like you said). :)

  • @bananatree94

It is amazing my chestnut fronted macaw can peal a grape so delicately and gently, but as you say can crack nuts. The beaks are so strong yet light, like a modern aerospace composite material. The white skin around the eyes is so soft.... very loving creatures.

  • im gonna gt a blue macow , theyre so cool

  • It looks like the one on the right is begging to be fed...or wants to feed?

  • so funny! :)

  • All of the bird in your videos are just beautiful!

  • Some of the things those birds are doing would have scared the hell out of me, you must really know what youre doing to be able to handle them without losing fingers! haha

  • i was looking at you site and the blue throated macaw i was wandering about about how big is it

  • beautiful birds, only the bad, the wings are clipped

  • hmm that's strange, here in Holland they are forbidden to sell because it's a specie where there aren't much left of.

  • @glennosh Are you certain? They are CITES 1 but breeding programs have been very successful.

  • @goldencockatoo Yes but it's very often that we (Holland) as a country are already further in the future with important things ;)

When a specie is in the position of dying out, the politics determine that there can't be haunted on species or they can't be selled.
