Ashken, The song is a plea to african to stop killing each other. People have no concious... It's been a long time we've been killing each other... One of very powerfull songs she ever produced. You somehow feel like singing along when you listen to her...
umoya ma africa means the children of africa.this woman was a key part of the struggle against apartheid. she was bhusisiwe, and the americans in oklahoma, where we were hiding, called me kinta kinte. she said , tell them your name is FELA
It's a pity that she passed before she could see or hear the ruthless way we (South Africans) are treating the foireigners after a wonderful World Cup. I hope we can uproot the evil manner we treat foreigners. To make it worst it's african we are treating this way. Unfortunately I stay in Khayelitsha one of the townships that started this mess. GOD Please help. Hear Our prayer! I even have tears in my eyes as I write this.

In this climate of xhenophobic violence in South Africa, this song is sq relevant. We can all Love one another as Africans. violence against another African is really showing hatred for oneself. I see myself first as an African and then a South African woman of Tsonga and Tswana heritage. We need to elevate ourselves above these petty divisions as Africans. more power to you sis' Busi.
well said sablackgirl. I'm a moSotho who's far from home but when I caught wind of the situation back home at the time of the attcks I couldn't get over how inhumane it was.
You are right I think we all need to "yehlisa umoya" and find a place within ourselves as Africans ACROSS the continent where we are all the same. a ma Afrika.
ahsante sana dada wetu. those attacks against other afrikans in sa came as a great ugly surprise to all afrikans. many of us did not want to believe it was actually true. we remembered how the whole continent surported the freedom struggle and were just shocked. The frontline states had camps for Umkhonto wesizwe. TZ hosted all pple. other countries hosted south afrikans with great compassion. the perpetrators will never kill pan - Afrikanism. Mungu ibariki Afrika!!!!
