  • i was just wonder if you can you use regular flour? this recipe looks delicious.

  • @loser2356 thanks :) you can use any type of flour, but to keep it healthy whole grain flours are best (whole wheat, spelt, oat, brown rice, etc)

  • This looks so delicious.. I wanna make it now. :)

  • What difference do you notice between using cooked (short grain) brown rice, and using the flour (even brown rice flour)?

  • @MyOttoLink well, flour is stickier and holds things together better. Personally, I prefer using a cooked whole grain when I can since it's less dense and it digests better for me

  • @healthyvegan Cool. I didn't want to be presumptuous about that I was hoping to use the rice, but think I'll try the (brown rice) flour, after hearing your advice. Thakns for writing back--and so quickly!! I'm enjoying your videos, and am learning from them.

  • @MyOttoLink if you search my channel or site, I have a few veggie burger recipes based on whole grains - try searching sweet potato patties or cajun veggie burger

  • I am the opposite end of Vegan. But this recipe looks great. Might make me reconsider. Great job..

  • @wideone418 awesome, I hope you try & have fun with it :)

  • I just finished eating this and I absolutely loved how they came out,

my kids devoured them I put some fresh basil and exchange one carrot for one parsnip,

totally delish :D thank you so much for this recipe, so easy and quick! I will share on fb!

  • @TheAlacransilla yum, nice idea to swap a carrot for a parsnip! those guys are tricky to get in sometimes :) I'm so glad you - and your kids - enjoyed them, and thanks for sharing your results!!

  • @healthyvegan yeah it is kind of hard to find anything to add parsnip to but I'm so happy this turn out delish :D thank you for all your recipes!

  • Making this today :D

  • I will def try these. Could you include heartier recipes on your newer videos?

  • @salliecinnamon It's getting to be a cold winter around here, so things will definitely be getting warmer & heartier :)

  • Very informative video.

  • i like to add home made sundried tomatos,

  • You are a very healthy looking young lady. I'm gonna make some lentil burgers for sure.

  • these burgers look great, and what a cutie she is!

  • must you pre-soak the lintels ?

  • @DoshUnScripted you don't need to, but it doesn't hurt :) makes them more digestible, and they cook a bit faster

  • @healthyvegan

    Thank You !

  • thank you

  • i wanna make this!! but ive made lentil or even eaten lentils before...im scared to cook them..

  • Julia Childs Reincarnate!

  • Thanks for the vids...will try this recipe later. Oh btw...you look very lovely in this vid

  • Looks yummy !

  • What the he'll is a lentil?

  • instead of corrandier what else can i use?

  • @Kyoko019 you can leave it out and use more cumin, or ginger, or turmeric - whatever you like really :)

  • Great recipe! Is it okay to make some patties and then freeze them for later use?

  • Making these for my animal eating partner today - am going to use ground flax as i don't have flour. Thanks again for the great recipe :)

  • Definately making this for my girl and me. :)

  • Made them today, total success! Made far too many but this makes me look forward to lunch a lot

  • can i use the orange/yellow lentils.. those are the only ones i have :( thanks

  • @2006kcl yup, but they get a lot mushier so don't cook them in too much water, or for too long, and you might have to add more flour or some ground flax to hold them together :)

  • awesome I need to go soy free now and veggie burgers are so expensive at the store! I will be making this!

  • These arE so frickin' good

  • you are gorgeousssssss

  • Hi.. What is the name of what you put at the end with lentil burgers and bread ?

  • @BukaTuGrupo sprouts??

  • @healthyvegan Yes, Thanks

  • YUMMY...i cant wait to try this!!! I already tried the black bean burger but ive been wanting to do something with lentils since they are my favorite!!! Thanks so much for posting!!! Peace.

  • I'm making this tonight! I love your blog BTW. Thanks for sharing all of those wonderful recipes!

  • @DeffffMetal thanks :) hope you have fun with it an enjoy!

  • can i leave out the onions?

  • @DreamsOfAtropos absolutely :) I'm always subbing/changing things in a recipe, so feel free to experiment!

  • Great! thanks a lot :)

I'm now thinking of making some vegan recipe vids myself..

It's such a great idea, thanks for inspiring me :P

    Good day!

  • @Danielleper1 nice, hope you have fun with it! :)

  • Thanks for the recipe...

I want to try it but, don't you need some sort of binder other than the flour?

say for example flax seeds? O:

and also.. you said to use oil but you didn't mention it in the recipe.

    how much?

    thanks!

  • @Danielleper1 you can throw some flax in there if you want, but I find they stick together just fine and prefer not to heat up flax seeds - psyllium is another one to try instead of flax. The oil is just enough for frying - I use about 1/2 a teaspoon per batch, and I usually fit 3 or 4 in a pan per batch. have fun with them! :)

  • Is it odd that I find her really sexy?

  • I love this recipe!!!!!!

  • I love this recipe!!!!!!

  • Can you freeze the burgers?

  • @triniface101 absolutely :) they freeze very well

  • Hey! Im trying this recipe today I'm really excited. Do you have any recipes on kelp? I bought some kelp the other day but I don't know what to do with it

  • @lizsy775 you know, I never really feature kelp in recipes, but use it while cooking. My favorite way is to put it in the water while cooking dried beans - makes them easier to digest, and the minerals from the kelp seep into the water and then on into the beans as they absorb. You can take the kelp out at the end, but I often blend it in when I make a bean dip. I also sometimes cut it into little bits with my kitchen scissors into a veggie soup, or a miso broth with tempeh & green onions.

  • Always great recipes!

    Thank you for the inspirations.

  • OMG, im gonna try this

  • i am sooooo glad that you do recipes for vegans. i've been contemplating going raw, but there are so many foods that I will miss out on. i am definitely going to try this tomorrow. thanks for sharing!

  • thank you for the recipe! I made them and they were soooo goood!! :)

  • @loove2shop glad you liked them :) thanks for watching!

  • I'll definitly try this next week :)

  • thanks for the recipe! but I could not help but notice you sounded very nervous throughout the video.

  • @amgben1 thanks, hope you have fun with the burgers! this was one of my first videos - still getting used to talking to myself on camera I think ;)

  • Hey, I made this burger last night and loved it!!!! It's so bomb I can stop eating the patties. I eating them alone, with anything else and they are delicious.

  • Going vegan has several health benefits, like lowering the chance of having certain heart diseases. Still, it is crucial to enjoy a vegan meal. I wish to share some vegan recipes but youtube wont let me post here, so I put it on my profile.

  • I think your voice is sexy... it's delicate and it breaks so elegantly.

  • hmm you'd think someone following a plant based diet would be more at peace and not nit picking, but you handled it well healthy vegan :). and i want to thank you for making these videos! i used to love watching food network, but after going vegan its not quite as fun and i had been hoping for some vegan cooking videos and yours are great!

  • @blahdashna You're very welcome, I'm so glad I can help you have fun in the kitchen post-food network :)

  • she sounds like shes crying

  • Can't wait to try this! What do you think about using sprouted...then cooked lentils?

  • @disan06 that would be wonderful :)

  • Yum! I love vegan burgers!!! :D Totally going to try your recipe!

  • thanks so much for this recipe! you are fantastic! i like all the extra tid-bits you give about the food.. well done :)

  • YOUR VOICE IS SO ANNOYING. THE BURGERS LOOK GOOD THOUGH.

  • @peppers2400 I hope you enjoy them :)

  • @peppers2400 I think she sounds nervous not annoying. youtube justin beiber for an annoying voice.

  • @peppers2400 What's more annoying is people who find it necessary to complain and nit pick at people. Oh wait, it's not annoying, just sad, because people who bully are only reflecting their own insecurities.

  • Awesome! This is a great recipe! :) I have pretty much all of the ingredents you used, so I'm thinking of trying to make these tonight. I had been trying to figure out how to make some sort of lentil burger for a while, so thanks so much for posting this recipe. :)

  • @veganheart1 perfect, glad you found it! I went through a ton of lentil burgers before coming up with this one... hope you enjoy! :)

  • @healthyvegan I ended up making it last night and it was delicious, such a great flavor! Thanks again for the recipe! :)

  • @veganheart1 excellent, so glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for posting the feedback!

  • @healthyvegan Your voice isn't annoying don't worry

  • This could very well be my new favourite food. I absolutely love(d) it! Thank you for the recipe!

  • @laushades Thanks so much for the note - I'm glad you enjoyed it! It does really well with different seasonings, too, but this is my favorite combo :)

  • you sound so much like pam from the office!

  • Hi! Sounds wonderful, I'm going try this for sure. Do you think that split pea lentils would make a good burger (I love the flavor) or a combination of? Thanks!

  • @Pippilly Yeah, the flavor would be great - the only difference is that split peas tend to be a bit drier than lentils when they cook so you may need to add a bit more water when mixing up the batter. Let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching!

  • subscribed subscribed subscribed. Well done!

  • uuuuuuuum bread ≠ vegan, right? I though break has eggs and stuffs

  • @iDiggMGL Actually most breads don't have eggs or milk in them. Check the ingredients to be sure before you buy, but usually only egg bread has eggs. Focaccia bread usually uses milk powder, but most of the breads you see don't have any dairy either. Muffins & cakes DEFINITELY have eggs and usually milk ingredients unless they say they're vegan.

  • @healthyvegan Cool, thanks. I literally started my vegan path yesterday and have been SOOOOOO overwhelmed. I mean, I live in LA, Ca, where there are plenty vegan markets......but there are no vegan markets in my school, so when I have a slight break in my 7:00pm class, I have to be careful what I get.....it's meat central!! It was hard enough to be a vegetarian there, but vegan??? I have to take my own food everyday lol

  • @iDiggMGL ooo, yeah, eating out can be pretty tricky, especially in caf-type places where things are already prepared. But you know what? taking your own food is a pain, but it will probably be a lot healthier than what you would wind up eating, even if it was vegan! Good luck, let me know if you have any other questions!

  • @healthyvegan Ok, thanks! ^-^

  • Optional: Add avocados. Adding this will make it taste so oh good!

  • burgers were great..just as great as with the brown lentils =) used some basil and chilliflakes aswell

  • loove these burgers...made them a couple of times...i'll write the recipe in my 'favourite recipes' book =)...just about to make them...only have 'yellow' lentils in the house right now..lets see if it works=)I'll let you know =) peace and a lovely day to anybody who reads this =)

  • @37mamak awesome, so glad you like them! Yellow lentils would be fun, and basil is a great addition. I actually made them the other day and added oregano! ;) great minds...

  • wow this looks great! thanks for this:) i am going to make this tonight

  • @simonealphonse awesome - hope you have fun with them!

  • Thank you. They look great.

  • @Chambers143 Lentils are small legumes, like beans

  • nice recipe.. your plants look not nice funny places to be

  • @88happyangi Thanks! Our kitchen is so black/white/silver that we wanted a bit of color in the videos, hence the plants.

  • Yum!

  • I know what to do with my bag of lentils now! ;D

  • @Fiara Excellent, hope you have fun with them!

  • @healthyvegan Okay, I made a batch and I can't get over how delicious they are! What a great way to sneak carrots into my diet, lol Thanks for sharing!

  • @Fiara Beautiful, I'm so happy I could help you eat more carrots! These are one of my faves...

  • You're a very good cooker. I am going to try all your recipes soon. ^^

I am almost a vegan. I am certainly going to subscribe.

  • @thugricanz Thanks, I hope you have fun with them! Check back and let me know how it goes.

  • @healthyvegan I was going to add this - I wished I had a girl like you.. ha ha

Because you're very healthful and you can cook! I am single, so I hope to find one like you who cook healthy stuff. ^_^

And sure, I will write back to tell you how it goes. I am learning how to cook, so I hope I don't mess up.

  • @healthyvegan

Sure, I will let you know how it goes. I really love the ingredients that you use.

That's why I am eager to do this. :) I am going one of your recipe tomorrow or the next day. I need to go food shopping.

  • Good job! I am going to subscribe because I think I am going to try all your recipes. I am partly a vegan. I wish a girl like you..... he he.. not easy to find^_^

  • I just made these and they were delicious!

I used green lentils instead of brown ones but the texture was nice anyway.

I'm slowly checking out all your recipes and they are all great :)

  • @Prieel Great, thanks for the feedback - I'm glad you enjoyed them!!

  • Very nice recipe, non-meat options are always nice.

    Thanks for posting. =D

  • thanks for your comments guys! hope you enjoy them!

  • looks delicious!!! thank you for sharing. 1LOVE

  • No problem! hope you enjoy them!

  • Cool. Nice to see a recipe that doesn't require £30's worth of ingredients that I'm only going to use a 10th of. I think I have all the things you mentioned already! *Goes downstairs to make veggie burgers*

  • Let us know how they went.

  • @HengistTheGreat

Not so well. There was too much moisture in the mix so I had to use loads of flour which made them taste a little funny. My fault entirely, not Heather's

  • Yeah, I'm all about not spending a ton on ingredients - you can get so much nutrition from some of the least expensive things!!

Too bad they needed so much flour... another thing you can do to dry out the mix if you run into that problem again is to use some cooked millet or rice or even dry rolled oats - I have a few other veggie burger videos posted if you check out my youtube listings - I don't think they let me post links! Ground nuts & seeds are amazing too, but a bit pricier...

  • Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely going to give them another shot. I have oats, seeds, rice, all those things really :-)

  • Yum!
