When I was touring Pennhurst for my third time (in 2004), someone else had re-connected the electricity somehow. When we flicked on the switches in the halls and rooms, those half-burned out fluorescent tubes flickered like it was their last gasp --Went back that night, and it was the best abandon building adventure ever! Amazing, we were not scared and totally at peace. Hopefully all the patients that suffered there are also at peace now. P.S. - ALCOHOL RUINS LIVES and R.I.P. BYBERRY

this was place was truly haunting when i went with my dad. we pulled up into a large opening, it seemed like an entrance where supplies would be dropped off, and right in the middle of the road was an old wheelchair. freaked us out like crazy. well worth a trip to see if you live near it.

thats right, i came from Colchester, England. Theres a massive complex in my town called 'Severalls' that ive been to a couple of times. but due to arson there alot of it gone or torn down...and security is getting real tight. The buildings in America have alot more to offer to be honest.
isnt there a lot of places in england? there is a website called opacity, where there are tons of photographs of abandoned buildings. some of the best ones i have seen have been in england, and i would love to go to them. have you ever been to byberry? its also in philadelphia, but unfortunately, non urban explorers a.k.a. vandalizers, have also put things in fire, and have generally destroyed it. because of this neighbors complained and it has been demolished.
