Humans have like 2,000,000 of genes, and we are 99% similar to chimps, so we are 1% diferent form chimps, at first sight dont look to much but when you do the math 2,000,000 x 0.01 = 20,000 genes that apes and humans dont shared, that is a lot, in comparation between humans the diference is like more or less, Iet say 20 genes (20/2,000,000) x 100 = 0.001 % is incredible how far we are from apes.

@ControltheDistance I remember in my classes I heard over and over again that agricultue led to warfare. I'm sure there was warfare before sedentism. However, population size would have been lower and that may be a reason why warfare would be less frequent in the past (more people = faster territory overlap maybe).

God cannot be scientifically proven but I do believe we were created by something whether it be science or supernatural. I DO believe that God exists but I also believe in science. Why? Because I have experienced them both and to me, they are both true. Not all scientists are atheists and not all atheists bear hatred towards religion which I truly believe is fair. I don't hate others for believing in something because a belief cannot be changed by anyone unless YOU allow it.

The numbers are real, but sharing 98% DNA doesn't mean species can mix. 2% that are of regularing genes and they are powerful and effect greatly to appearance. Because of a fusion, we have one less chromosome than the great apes, therefore we can't breed.

Humans have like 2,000,000 of genes, and we are 99% similar to chimps, so we are 1% diferent form chimps, at first sight dont look to much but when you do the math 2,000,000 x 0.01 = 20,000 genes that apes and humans dont shared, that is a lot, in comparation between humans the diference is like more or less, Iet say 20 genes (20/2,000,000) x 100 = 0.001 % is incredible how far we are from apes.

@elchippe We only have about 23,000 genes. Whilst we have a small % difference in our overall genome compared to Chimps, we have the same genes. These genes have however, diverged from each other due to small incremental changes. e.g. Whilst we both have the same PAX6 genes, they are not 100% identical due to variation and natural selection. i.e. Genes evolve. We haven't evolved "far" from apes. We are apes.

Evolution, on the other hand, doesn't fit into that so well. Evolution is the centerpiece of biology, without which all of modern biology (including medicine) is nonsensical and cannot be applied to anything in the real world. I grew up going to church and after watching numerous documentaries and taking a voluntary anthropology class in high school I just find the concept of evolution easier to grasp. Every human on this planet started off as an organism that changed multiple times over millions of years into what we finally are today? Okay, that makes sense. Our understanding of the things around us are usually influenced by what we have more exposure to, but some exposures make more sense than others. I carefully looked at Evolution and of course, thare are things that make senses. But that does not mean they are true. Theories are not true until they are proven to be. Spend sometime with nature.
