  • You're videos are amazing I'm so happy you've posted them I wish people who don't run could see this videos and appreciate them the way i do.

  • lol that lady was like take the damn flowers already but alan is in his own little world.

  • Regardless of how inconsistent Alan Webb is, this was truly an amazing performance.

  • Never realized how fat Webb is

  • so awesome how the music lifts as webb reacts to baala's kick

  • I love this video - I watch it all the time. Well done, perfect soundtrack!

  • Great video

  • what country was the guy from 3rd from????

  • Lagat can own Alan Webb, no offense

  • lagat owned your mom

  • actually he would have beaten my mom by about 4 minutes.

  • Lagat is the more accomplished athlete in championship meets, yes. However, Lagat was in this race and placed 7th with a 3:35 -- 5 seconds behind Webb! On this day, Alan dominated.

  • The Frenchman surrendered at the crucial moment, but the American had no exit strategy...great race though, they were both awesome the 1500m is character building

  • Alan Webb said that he wants to break Hicham El Guerrouj's WR in the mile and possibly the 1500m run. He said that shortly after he broke Steve Scott's American Record in the mile. I hope he does it, he just has to be consistant.

  • And you just mentioned the problem with Webb. He can come out and have a fantastic race and then flat-line and finish last in another (look at what he did in Randall's Island earlier this year). At this point, it's not a matter of when, but if. And in my honest opinion, Hicham record is a dream, not a reality. All the weight training he did, did more damage than good to him. I wish him the best of luck, but, again, I don't see it happening.

  • thankyou for the upload

  • 3:14-3:16 were some of the best shots I've ever seen in a running race, just amazing.

  • very well done video ... 5/5

  • WHAT SONG IS THIS?! Did you know Alan Webb used to frequent Oakton High school? His coach used to be Raczko, the cross country coach for South Lakes HS

  • the song is from the band INTERPOL

  • Pace is the Trick, by Interpol from the album Our Love to Admire

  • @MarinaUlliel alan webb went to south lakes high school buddy, and raczko is the xc, indoor track as well as outdoor track coach for south lakes. and alan webb recently spoke with raczko again about coming back to him.

  • I want Alan Webb back! Come on Webb!

  • what song is it?

  • beasted on! i love it!

  • That song is awesome.

  • Why didn't they run 3:30 at the Olympic trials?

Running over 3:40 brings everyone in the race.

  • They don't have pacemakers in the trials. It is called real tactical running which is something Alan will need to learn how to overcome to become a more well rounded complete runner. He has the tools, but wise tactical running allows a runner to get a psychological edge.

  • I was not just talking about Alan. To pick the best runners to represent America, they need to run, at least in the final, a lot closer to the projected winning time in Beijing. I realize the standard is 3:36, but if someone runs a pr at 3:35, then makes the team with a 3:40 I'm not convinced they are going to be able run close to 3:32 to win the gold.

  • You are right that they should have gone faster and tried to focus a little more on the time. Lets hope Lagat adds a gold to his silver from 2004 and bronze from 2000. He is the reigning 2007 champ at 3:34. His last lap is enough to strike fear in anyone.

  • I'm with you. I think Lagat is going to contend well.

  • Looks like you were right! The US should have prepared better. The numbers cost the whole US team. Cheers mate!

  • I'm shocked that Lagat didn't make the final. He

ran a 53 second last lap and still didn't make it.

  • Great job on this.

  • what is this song that they are playing here? I love it- it goes so well with the video- think if Alan Webb was just a little taller and had longer legs! He would demolish everybody

  • pace is the trick by interpol

  • Bernard Lagat is 5'5 and he is the best 1,500 metre runner out there. And most of the other succesful Kenyan and Ethiopian runners are under 5'10 . Height doesn't really help .

  • 5:55 freshman year?????HA! That is ok, but not that great. I ran a 4:45 as a freshman and my friend ran a 4:31..and again we were just slightly above average.

  • He ran 4:24 as a freshman, 4:06 as a sophomore, 4:03 as a junior, and 3:53 as a senior. He Ran a 5:45 in 6th grade.

  • LOL I can run a 5:55 mile and ima freshmen in highschool lol I wanna try and make to alans speed by maybe senior year or freshmen college year lol

  • He ran 4:24 as a freshman, 4:06 as a sophomore, 4:03 as a junior, and 3:53 as a senior. He Ran a 5:45 in 6th grade.

  • he is sick i can almost keep that pace for a half mile

  • He will have trouble in Beijing. The air is terrible!!!

  • He is going to have the same problems as the rest of the field. Everybody competing in the event will face and deal with the same conditions.

  • AWESOME>>>he's a freakin' Jet!

  • wow that french guy knew he got his ass kicked at the end...he nearly stopped before the line

  • Webb needs a medal in Bejing or else he may never clear that last hurdle.

  • Awesome!

  • The slow motion video of Webb walking down that guy on the home-stretch is absolutely sick!

  • Alan Webb is so good. Music fits race perfect. Good luck to Webb at the next Olympics.

  • never mind about the olympics!

  • i saw this video live

  • great video. music suits it perfectly

  • great editing.

  • This is some great footage. Thanks to the person that posted this race. Alan Webb looks great so far but has a lot more to prove that he can run with the international runners.

  • it is easier to run with rabit. after hicham el g I thing the new man is ramzi. ( he is morrocan born with morrocan coach), they seem to get the secret of winning middle distance. I think he will be given good challenge by Komen but I will not surprise if he wins again.

  • Take that Frenchy!

  • Nice vid CB

  • Hey man wats the name of the song? I think its Heinrich Menuever, but I'm not sure.

  • pace is the trick by interpol

  • o he will. I predict he goes on to win the olympics in 08'... any takers??? he looks invencible right now, and his words make him seem unbeatable in the mile/1500

  • *sigh* now let's just hope he's not peaking too early (like in '04), he's done some amazing work on his finish, can't wait to see him in Beijing...

  • Thanks for posting this! Finally Webb is having a great year.....

  • Alan Webb just broke the American record at the mile, with a time of 4.46.91. He is the best!

  • i saw that he is crazy i cant wait to see him in osakka

  • 4.46???

  • 3.46.91, a great time. Would be great to see Webb and Pre race against each other ....

  • If only there were another American who could push him, he might have a shot at El Gouraj (maybe)

  • lol you have no idea what you are talking about, this last lap was 55sec.67 , in athen at age 30 elguerrouj ran his last lap 51.89 in his prime elguerrouj he would have left alan webb 40 to 50 meters clear.

not to mention that alan is 4 secondes far from 3 43 .12 secs elguerrouj's mile record.

anyway we will have a very exiting 1500m in osaka Balaa, Alan webb, rachid ramzi, Daniel komen, bernard lagate, all the best runners in the world will be there!

  • you right but this is one of the first usa middle distance runners that can challenge the kenyans morrcans ect, i know there was others but never a american in the mile and 1500

  • 3:46.91, but I concur with the rest!
