It was not easy at first, but I screwed up the courage to play the other two versions. First I played the one by the Persuaders and then Bloodstone. The background for the Persuaders was tight. Bloodstone could have really given her a run for her money, but I guess this song intimidated the lead singer. It's unanimous, Linda's version is tops. Nobody can beat my girl, as far as vocal range, power, intensity and raw emotion. Linda you are No.! forever

The Sinceres/Bloodstone are still hitting after all these years. I ran into the Sinceres performing on stage 41 years ago in Inglewood calif at Darby Park, then later in the early 70s as Bloodstone @ The Total Experience in LA, Calif. Willis Draffen RIP- bad ass singer, composer and guitarist. If you want a battle on your hands put these guys on stage with all the right circumstances and watch the fireworks, They belong up there with the best of them in R&B Soul.
