@BQZip01 actually there was automatic ejection system on yak-38. When, in hover , engine parameters show that something is wrong pilot is ejected automatically.

if you look, he was taking up the previous aircrafts position....the aircraft starts to sink slightly....i wonder if he lost power because of ingestion of the other aircrafts exhaust ...the higher air temperature, meaning less power??

not really. jet cockpits are very very small so you are pretty much always in the same position.

Well I dont know but my guess is that the engine overheated and stalled. Because thats what usualy happens.

you are so very right.thats what happens when they run out of water.they usually only carry enough for 90 seconds of hover.and check out my clip if you like ejection seats

They used an automatizised K-36DM Zvesda ejection seat on both the Yak-38 and Yak-141 Ac´s. Great - any Harrier Pilot would be dead meat.

Not really. Harriers don't have the notorious thrust failure problems of the Yak-38 in the first place.
