Actually the name Nova Scotia (New Scotland) was named by Sir William Alexander, who received a grant to all the land between New England and Newfoundland from King James VI of Scotland (King James I of England) in 1621. Which means before the Treaty of Suza in 1631 Nova Scotia was officially part of mainland Scotland. So platinum is correct by calling it New Scotland as it is a proper translation of intended use. And its immigrants not emigrants...
