A selected few Tamils were used for the divide and rule and planted them the superiority complex by giving them the English education. They were challenged after 1956 and couldnt accept the majority Sinhalese having history of more than 2500 yrs. The root cause is that Tamils never wanted to accept the Sinhalese as the majority.
