  • This song sounds frightenly like 'Peggie Sue' by Buddy Holly.

Well, I like Peggy Sue so what the heck.

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard country chart for 1 week in Aug 1989

  • who is hot babe in pics?

  • I met a girl today, her name was Timber, and she told me she was named after this song:)

  • @HollyWatford Poor girl. CRUELEST. PARENTS. EVER.

  • i woke up with you in my heart..... so true : )

  • Love it!!!

  • great song!

  • One of my favorite old songs. And did Patty ever date Burt Reynolds? I noticed a lot of Smokey and the Bandit stuff in the clip.

  • Can't stop listening, it's so good.

  • after the 90's country fell off, cant touch patty

  • Todays country really sucks

  • @kitchenrobert55

90's Country Music was the BEST and 80's Rock was the BEST! I HATE today's Music. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and all they play is this Hip-Hop and Rap CRAP! Today's Country Music HARDLY sounds like Country Music at all. What a crying shame.

  • When country was still "Counrty"

  • Old whiney tears crap beats the stuff called country today. Cash,Jennings, Haggard, Porter, Charlie Pride, Ronnie Milsap, Johnny Rodriguez, Bobby Bare, Ferlin Husky, Faron Young, and manyothers are COUNTRY! Patty Lovelss could fart and it would have mor talent the these bozos that call themselves country today.

  • Most Contemporary Country sucks. The old country songs was much better.

  • @kitchenrobert55 The old whiny tears in my beer crap? Contemporary country beats the old crap by a longshot.

  • I loved this song when I was a kid. It just doesn't strike a chord in me anymore. I guess people just change over time...

  • @behindthewolfseyes I know exactly what you mean! This was my absolute favorite song EVER when I was like 4... I always screamed till my mom turned it up in the car... still a good song, but far from my favorite :P

  • @phuzzypharret you literally screamed! That is how much I loved this song!

  • My very favorite song of Patty. Saw her in person soon after this was a hit at courthouse Square in Dayton. She was and is awsome !!!

  • I can remember this song like yesterday! I was only a teeneager. It still brings back the same feeling that I experienced then! I love you Patty!

  • The Smoky tie in is interesting. Am I forgetting something? I used to play it for my daughter, too. She said 'Tim Bergen'.

  • i remember my da singing this to me when i was a little girl... now here i am singing it to mine... where has time gone

  • Wikipedia credits three guitarists on the album "Honky Tonk Angel": Paul Franklin, Albert Lee, Mac McAnally. Doesn't say which one played on "Timber", but whoever it was, that's some mighty fine pickin'!

  • @JoeRailfan It's Albert Lee.

  • Patty Loveless has it all--wonderful voice, good looks, a great song to sing and a great band to back her up (not to mention Vince Gill on harmony!). And who is that lead guitarist playing all those great Clarence White licks?

  • @JoeRailfan Maybe it's Vince Gill playing guitar :)

  • good job on that patty

  • very possibly the most all-around talented female country artist ever.

  • Cool song from back in the days when Vince Gill wasn't yet a star himself but was the most in-demand session vocalist in the business.

  • The way my dad sings this song is a better version then again he did write the song! His name is Kostas and he is my dad :) he also wrote Blame it on your heart!

  • Your dad is a friend of mine and one of my favorite songwriters - I've been listening to him for a long time! My favorite Kostas song is "If You Think", which Patty also recorded. But my all-time favorite version of "If You Think" was his performance of it in about 1992, when he opened for Taj Mahal in Bozeman. While introducing the song he talked about writing it during a snowstorm, and then sang it beautifully. It remains one of my favorite performances of any song! :) God bless you both!

  • Oh whats your name?!?!?! Do you live in Montana?

  • He wrote lots of great songs, including several that i really like on Patty's "On Down the Line" album.

  • i wish i could find a live version of this song! or a video of patty singing

  • I've always been in love with Patty!!

  • this song is freakin sweet!!!!

  • whos the young girl on the pictures that looks like Sophia Bush ? :P

  • I didn't find out until recently that it was Vince Gill who sang harmony with Patty on this song.

  • same

  • Definitely Patty Loveless. You may want to go into 'Edit' and re-label this.

  • No, it's about Patty singing about Lorrie, after wacthing Ax Men. Mon night at ten, bring your hard hat and flannel

  • It is Patty Loveless. Jayme is so right.

  • Ummm dude, that's Patty Loveless, not Lorrie Morgan.
