IMO This car looks average with the regular headlights... if you want to wow people you need the RS package with the LED lights... THEN it looks fierce!!! Great car in general, just tweak the interior please with better plastic quality, more design and a steering wheel easier to hold. Yeah the car has a hot exterior but for me thats not enough to justify spending over $35,000 on that poorly made interior. Chevy thinks retro= cheap and I guess in some way it does but not when the cars price tag is in the same ballpark of an infiniti g37 or do I dare say a 2010 mustang GT, which puts Camaro's interior to shame. Yeah the camaro might have the Mustang in the 0-60 by a tenth of second but is that really going to make you feel any better when that dash falls in your lap.
I prefer the 'stang only because it holds up so good. Don't get me wrong, I really love the looks of the Camaro, with it's retro interior, and amazing key, but Ford gave so much more with the 2011 'stang. The base 'stang has 305 HP, with six speed manual, and aluminum interior quality, with great visibility, and fabulous growls, which the Camaro driver does not get. In the end, the Camaro is the show, but the 'stang is practical. I just wish GM could use Ford's tactics, so I could consider it.
I don't know what he meant by confused interior, I thought it was a breeze learning everything. I test drove all Challengers and Camaro's and the Camaro kicks dodges ass. The biggest fail for the Challenger was the vision. I have no problem with the Camaro but when i was in the Challenger, I was afraid to park it because I couldn't see anything. With the SS it comes with reverse sensors as well but with those long side mirrors, who needs it? I am so happy with my baby, I don't wanna stay home.

Seemed to me the V6 Challenger had a slight lag when excellerating while just a tap on the V6 Camaro and your off. I commute in heavy traffic so I chose the 6 speed auto but if you don't, then get the manual! Everyones different and test drivings free so go do it!
I'm disappointed. I was really hoping the new decade would bring true quality and performance to US cars. Fake air intakes, boring interior, tons of cheap looking plastic. Another mediocre attempt from the good old boys at GM.
I have some questions if anyone can answer through first hand experience. How does this car fair in the snow (RS, Z28, SS)? I have a RWD with 190 HP with snow tires and its still hard to drive in the snow. Two, how much are parts and tires? 3, any glitches with this car yet since its the first of its kind?
I am not a mechanic but i know somethings. The RS is a rally sport package and is just a sporty body kit really. The 93-02 was the top of the line a V8 with better suspension, handling and a few extras. The Z28 is pretty much the samething as the SS. The new Z28 is the top of the line like it was in the late 60s. (idk why they switched them in the 90s). The parts are kinda expinsive but are pretty much the same as any other V8.
@bowlofarthritus The SS is most likely bad for snow although i drive my 91' V8 all season, but all in all you shouldnt buy a muscle car for generic functionality, they're specialized for performance and not every day utility. Parts and tires are more expensive than normal but still not bad at all, especially for performance standards, any European or Japanese car would quickly get more expensive to fix. And no glitches, just one extremely minor nit-picky recall for tape used on the wiring

@JoeBird76 im from europe and i know about 3 mustangs cruising our city. just 3 of them, maybe there is one or two i dont know about. renting this car costs like $1000 a day in our country (and in most of the europe), so when i visit uncle sam next year, im definitely going for 2011 5.0 Mustang GT with automatic transmission (sorry we have manuals in everything, i hate that transmission), but Camaro is right behind it as a backup if there will be no 5.0 GT available :)
I like the looks of the Camaro. Now that mustang has the Camaro concept to copy they have made a good looking car (just my opinion). I've read that Mustangs are comparable in terms of acceleration, and superior in the twisties, performance is NOT just about acceleration and torque, though I do think Camaro SS still trumps the Mustang GT in overall performance, but barely... its going to be a hard decision, throw in the 370z's performance and I'm really confused...
thats why i was looking at the comfortability. they are too close to compare performance wise. you got to drive em to see which one you like. for me i bought the mustang because it drove easily and was able to take long distances without me getting a cramp in my ass. But its in what you like, for me it was the stang.
the camaro ss demand is so fucking high that you will have to order one. and the wait will make you go crazy...lol. i am going crazy i should be getting it like next week. the wait is 2-3 months... it hits you hard.... i have been waiting for my camaro ss since late September.... now the 370z you could get in like 2 days, and its going to be the funniest ride in terms of handling. and its as fast as a porsche cayman s. dont get a mustang its to common of a car.
I agree about the Mustang. However, with demand being so high for the Camaro (because its such an awesome car), I fear it too will become as common as the Zs and Stangs. Also, most people won't be able to tell the difference between an SS and a regular one. So that girl your trying to impress with your cool SS won't think its any different than her boyfriends base model. Also not horrible, it means only people that really appreciate performance will cough up the dough for an SS.

thx. but i bought the stang. the maro was pretty kool with the style, and power;i did spin the tires a lil bit too on the test drive. but the seats kept me from buyin it and a few other interior features. i drive about 400 miles every weekend so comfort was the major concern so i bought the stang and i'm happy with it.

@chargerowner4 Ok, Ima be real with u. I am thinkin of getting the camaro but the only thing is stopp me is despite the fact every wants one and most of them have one.. Why? Cause of the fucking movie and u know what movie I'm talking about.. In looks I gotta go with the challenger but the downside about it is it's heavy and kinda slow. What do u think?

@D1am0nd77 well its a great car but im 6ft5 and im a little cramped it is kinda hard to see out of. The power is good and its got decent interior. But i test drive a challenger and found it more comfortable its really up to you if i were you i'd drive both of them and then decide

@D1am0nd77 i think you would fit fine> As far as regretting it, not really cause it has great performance for a reasonable price, um yeah my only regret is there are too many of them so go with what you want but like i said i'd drive both of them before i bought one.

@D1am0nd77 You gotta test drive them both in all models. I did and feel in love with the Camaro SS. Just check out field of vision in both cars. I found the V6 Camaro better then the Challenger. Seemed to me the V6 Challenger had a slight lag when excellerating while just a tap on the V6 Camaro and your off. I commute in heavy traffic so I chose the 6 speed auto but if you don't, then get the manual! Everyones different and test drivings free so go do it!

I'm disappointed. I was really hoping the new decade would bring true quality and performance to US cars. Fake air intakes, boring interior, tons of cheap looking plastic. Another mediocre attempt from the good old boys at GM.

I have some questions if anyone can answer through first hand experience. How does this car fair in the snow (RS, Z28, SS)? I have a RWD with 190 HP with snow tires and its still hard to drive in the snow. Two, how much are parts and tires? 3, any glitches with this car yet since its the first of its kind?

I am not a mechanic but i know somethings. The RS is a rally sport package and is just a sporty body kit really. The 93-02 was the top of the line a V8 with better suspension, handling and a few extras. The Z28 is pretty much the samething as the SS. The new Z28 is the top of the line like it was in the late 60s. (idk why they switched them in the 90s). The parts are kinda expinsive but are pretty much the same as any other V8.

No glitches really besides some had faulty battery cables. (I think that was only in the SS).

@bowlofarthritus The SS is most likely bad for snow although i drive my 91' V8 all season, but all in all you shouldnt buy a muscle car for generic functionality, they're specialized for performance and not every day utility. Parts and tires are more expensive than normal but still not bad at all, especially for performance standards, any European or Japanese car would quickly get more expensive to fix. And no glitches, just one extremely minor nit-picky recall for tape used on the wiring

im tring to decide if i want to get this or the 2010 stang. i like the performance but the interior for the camaro sucks. the stangs interior is way more user friendly but it doesnt have the power of the maro. its a tough decison.

techking231 it's the Camaro 2SS all the way! I was thinking the same before I bought my 2SS couple of weeks ago... and I am so glad I did. Not only does the 2SS outperform the Mustang but it out does any car in the attention it gets. I am serious I stopped in Starbucks this morning and had people around the car saying beautiful car man! Everywhere I go people are staring at the car smiling! You will not get that with the stang! Get the Camaro you will not be sorry! :)

@JoeBird76 im from europe and i know about 3 mustangs cruising our city. just 3 of them, maybe there is one or two i dont know about. renting this car costs like $1000 a day in our country (and in most of the europe), so when i visit uncle sam next year, im definitely going for 2011 5.0 Mustang GT with automatic transmission (sorry we have manuals in everything, i hate that transmission), but Camaro is right behind it as a backup if there will be no 5.0 GT available :)

I like the looks of the Camaro. Now that mustang has the Camaro concept to copy they have made a good looking car (just my opinion). I've read that Mustangs are comparable in terms of acceleration, and superior in the twisties, performance is NOT just about acceleration and torque, though I do think Camaro SS still trumps the Mustang GT in overall performance, but barely... its going to be a hard decision, throw in the 370z's performance and I'm really confused...

thats why i was looking at the comfortability. they are too close to compare performance wise. you got to drive em to see which one you like. for me i bought the mustang because it drove easily and was able to take long distances without me getting a cramp in my ass. But its in what you like, for me it was the stang.

the camaro ss demand is so fucking high that you will have to order one. and the wait will make you go crazy...lol. i am going crazy i should be getting it like next week. the wait is 2-3 months... it hits you hard.... i have been waiting for my camaro ss since late September.... now the 370z you could get in like 2 days, and its going to be the funniest ride in terms of handling. and its as fast as a porsche cayman s. dont get a mustang its to common of a car.

I agree about the Mustang. However, with demand being so high for the Camaro (because its such an awesome car), I fear it too will become as common as the Zs and Stangs. Also, most people won't be able to tell the difference between an SS and a regular one. So that girl your trying to impress with your cool SS won't think its any different than her boyfriends base model. Also not horrible, it means only people that really appreciate performance will cough up the dough for an SS.

ya i total see what your saying. but the mustang is the same way with the lower base model. the 370z does not make a slower option with is good. i test drove one, it was sick. i know for a fact that there are people out there that dont even know that there is a v6 and v8 model. all they know is that its called a "camaro" . i just realized like this pass month i have been noticing more camaros on the road . well i guess its you will just have to drive them all and pick, gook luck :)

Both are amazing machines! You'll probably have to drive them both a couple of times before you can make a choice. Nothing wrong with that :) Good luck with what ever you buy.

thx. but i bought the stang. the maro was pretty kool with the style, and power;i did spin the tires a lil bit too on the test drive. but the seats kept me from buyin it and a few other interior features. i drive about 400 miles every weekend so comfort was the major concern so i bought the stang and i'm happy with it.

nice vid. as far as the challenger goes. It weighs 300 pounds more, thats too much weight for having the same horse power for me. I bet its the retro styling of the challenger that you like eh?
