Is this Malcolm Young with the Rickenbacker at 0:38 in? Damn. .that's the highest I've ever seen a guitar raised. He could have picked it with his teeth.
The Easybeats were Australia's answer to the Beatles. They were a great band in their own right. I got to see them in Brisbane and they were a high energy band, fueled by the screams of their fans. Long time ago!
I first saw the Easybeats at the old 2UW Theatre in 1964 02 65' before they came out with their first record. It was called "For my Woman" and featured a lot of tremeloe. They followed that up with She's So Fine and all those other great songs. I saw them live quite a few times . Great Group.
A great band indeed to come out of OZ, out of its ashes would emerge another great Aussie band-AC/DC. (Angus Young is the younger brother of the guitarist in the Easybeats)
I totally agree Mal is my favorite member of AC/DC he's a much tighter guitarist. In fact I personally think that he's the best rhythm guitarist next to Ron Wood from the Stones.
Too bad it's lip synched - does anyone have a live version of this? The Easybeats were extremely talented, too bad drugs got hold of Stevie Wright, the lead singer. Too many of the '60's bands seem to have just self destructed as the decade ended. Nothing like it has been seen since.
Hey eddie, what show in Australia is this from? Of course here in America, most of us only know or heard of the Easybeats starting from 1967 with "Friday On My Mind" which is good, but not nearly as rocking as this "She's So Fine" appears to be. And vocalist, Steve Wright looks like he's having a lot of fun dancing with those girls up on stage and coming near to the audience. Obviously Wright was getting laid in his country. -:)
I'm pretty sure this is from an old show called Saturday Date which was hosted by Jimmy Hannan, it certainly looks like it to me. Does anyone else remember this show?
I saw an identical clip to this on the Billy Thorpe This is Your Life last night and it was introduced as being from Saturday Date.
No - it was from a show that used to be on Channel 7 called "It"s All Happening". I actually saw the Easybeats performing this song (and many others)live at the Sydney Town Hall in 1968. I'm 57 yeras old and played in a band myself back then.
Before "Friday On My Mind" they had these hits in Australia. 1965 "She's So Fine" No.1 1965 "For My Woman" No.5 1965 "Wedding Ring" No13. 1965 "Sad Lonely And Blue No.24 1966 "Women" No7. 1966 "Come and See Her" No.10 1966 "I'll make You Happy" No.7 1966 "Sorry" No.1 1966 EP "Easyfever" 1965 Album "Easy" 1966 'It's 2 Easy" All this before "Friday On My Mind" Get hold of their CD "Absolute Anthology"
Did you say in the mid 60's, or did you mean the MOD 60's?

There were so many great artists and songs that were heard only in Australia in the 1960's and 70's.
The Easybeats, The Loved Ones,Johnny O'Keefe, Daddy Cool,John Farnham etc. all world class acts.

I challenge any aerobics instructor today to keep up with those go-go dancers. The '60's teens were truly a generation "on the move"!!
