Pavlova is what the floor exercise is supposed to be. If she sticks round in 09, when the code plans to reward artistry and tumbling over constant tumbling, she will be world champion. This is the best floor routine Ive since since '96.
She might have had a low landing on her final pass, but she's been underscored throughout the whole competition! She definitely deserved a medal with that program!

True that, and I hope she sticks around because I felt bad for what happened to her in Beijing.

if you're willing to not bite my head off, I'll tell you how the judges could have come up with that score
Double layout (low landing -0.1)
3/1 (crossed legs -0.1; side step -0.1)
tour jete 1/2 (lack of extension -0.1; lack of amplitude -0.1)
turn (lack of control -0.1)
switch ring (lack of control -0.1)
double pike (VERY deep landing -0.3; step -0.1)
8.900
5.900+8.900 = 14.800

You're more than welcome! Although I hate judges, you're an excellent one!
I see your point but I have to disagree with:
- The lack of amplitude and extension on the leaps; we all know that Anna is a dancer's dream, jump wise.
- The low landing on the double straight. It was absolutely perfectly landed!
Darkangel127 3 years ago 2
I'm not deducting for all the leaps, just the tour jete 1/2, that thing is dreadful
I'm standing by my deduction for her double pike, she was bent over
NewNewNastiaFan101 3 years ago
sorry, I meant double layout
NewNewNastiaFan101 3 years ago
You were more generous than me NewNewNastiaFan... I gave her
Double layout (Hop <1m, -0.1; chest low on landing, -0.1)
Triple twist (Crossed legs in flight phase, -0.1; crossed feet on landing, -0.1; step <1m, -0.1)
Tour Jete 1/2 (Lack of amplitude, -0.1; leg seperation on landing, -0.1)
Front layout stepout (Step <1m, -0.1)
1/1 turn (Lack of control, -0.1)
Switch ring (Lack of control, -0.1)
Double pike (Low landing, could either be -0.1 OR -0.3; step <1m, -0.1)

Thx guys! I guess I'll always be biased towards Anna. I just love her floor work, so I tend to overlook some of her deductions! ;-)

poor pavlova, she had a few tiny problems that she didn't in the previous parts of competition
