Hey, I really love your videos.I just got new German shepherd and he is 5 months old. I am teaching to him from your videos. The thing is we might go to travel this summer. Is it fine for him? What should i prepare for him( ex. pass , pa[er stuff) and how do i train him to travel ? Could you make some videos for that?
You and your dogs are very welcome to Sweden! Tug and my dog Mimmi (Mimi) looks exactly the same, the only driffrence is that Mimmi (Mimi) is white with some brown on her head and bum =)
Emily, we in California are wishing you great happiness in Sweden, and are enjoying seeing your adventure through your videos so keep 'em coming. You continue to be a tremendous gift to the world of dog training and I often refer my students to your channel. Thank you for what you do and who you are, and keep it up! Happy 2012!
So it's an official move? Why did you move? I live in DK but am a US citizen as well. You will love it in Sweeden. I'm having trouble finding time to train the puppies I kept.
Must have been expensive to move three dogs and two humans! I just moved with my cattle dog from Australia to the US, and it was pricey. But so worth it! It's not like there's any other option ;)
hey i got the same carrot toy for my puppy! it is her favorite too! haha....thats so cool! congrats on ur new place! why did you move to Sweden? (just curious) how is kiko doing?
Emily, This is such a beautiful video of your journey. All the dogs so calm and mellow. I'd love to see a video on travelling with animals and keeping them calm. I really hope that all goes well for you in Sweden. New beginnings and new adventures. i hope to see you in Spain one day. All the very best to you, you are an INSPIRATION!!! to everyone. : )
Oh no! I just moved out of Sweden a few months ago (to Australia)! Why didn't you move sooner so I could have met and maybe learnt from you!? Sad now :( I never seem to find any trainers here in Oz that do complete positive clicker training, and I have to say I struggled to do it myself. I need someone to learn it from. For all the basics I mean, not tricks. I understand how tricks are done with clicker training, just not the every day rules.
I am so happy for you and the dogs whom I love and will miss a lot. I hope that you will do great and be very happy in your new home. I am sad to see you go but I hope and pray that you will continue to provide your wonderful educational videos for us to watch and learn by. Those videos and your work with those beautiful dogs of yours have given me so much to work with my ex puppy mill breeder dog Abbie who is a Jack Russell. I have loved all of your videos, and I thank you again for them.
You're gonna love Sweden, I'm sure. They treat immigrants very well and make it easy to learn Swedish if you want to (free courses, etc.). Lycka till! (Good luck)
I see lots of Q's here about flying with dogs..I have found United to be the best airline for taking a small dog as a carry-on for International travel. I also love the Sturdibag carriers (size L is probably the biggest you can safely use and still meet airline requirements). Animal import rules vary by country, so do your research!
I am glad all went well with your move. I recently bought both your DVD sets, so I have a lot of work for the holidays (and after). I wish you, your family and dogs a Merry Xmas and the best for the New Year. Keep up the good work. I love all your videos.
Congrats on the sucessful move, I hope you'l be very happy. I didn't know they would let dogs on planes under seat like that. What kind of dog is Splash's new friend? (at the window)
Thanks for posting this. I've been thinking about you and wondering how the travel went. So glad to see everyone managed the trip. Looking forward to seeing some of Sweden in the background in the next vids.
BOO HOO, I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! I am so happy that your trip went well and you all are safe, happy, and getting settled! It was great to see a video of everyone! :)) I STILL MISS YOU!! :))
welcome to Sweden! how come you decided to move here? Do you have relatives here? I can't put to words how happy I am that my idol in dogtraining is moving to my country! It's unbelievable! What a Christmas gift! I'm really hoping you will have some classes, maybe around Stockholm.
A warm welcome to Scandinavia!!! Hope that you will hold seminars in Denmark in the new year once you are settled in. Have a wonderful Christmas in your new home!
omg, welcome!! I would love to meet you guys one day and maybe learn from you more about dogs and clicker training. especially when I getting my first dog. but that'll be in a few years. (i live in Sweden) /Melissa
Välkommen hit and I hope you like it here in the kickass cold shoesoleshaped country :) Where in Sweden are you? You dont have to be precise if you dont want to, north/south/east/west is good enough for me :)
Welcome to Scandinavia! :) Hopefully you'll spread out progressive reinforcement here as well! It is needed, trust me!
It's amazing to see you bring all your dogs with you when you move far away. I might not be able to bring my dogs when I move - even if it's probably going to be just a few hundred miles away, in the same country!
I'm so happy you and the pups arrived to your new home safely. They behaved very well indeed. Are some of those other dogs I see Podengos, or are they just mutts?
I'm moving across the Atlantic in a few months and I have a Jack Russell girl. I cannot tell you how much I'd appreciate a video or a series on how to move with a dog and how to train her for a 'low stress' journey as you say, because I am really scared of having to rehome her and I would die if she couldnt come with me! xx
Congratulations on the move! Glad everything went so well! I'd love some tips on getting a small dog ready for traveling on a plane (getting used to the bag for extended periods etc.). What kind of bags did you use for Kiko and Tug?
Have you really moved to Sweden and for how long time? Very interesting :) Greetings behind the gulf, from Turku Finland where I live.
And wherever I go I take my dog with. Today I'll leave by train for my family for Christmas. Alva has travelled by train since she was 8 weeks old and she is quite used to it.
Hey Kikopup, don't your dogs have to be quarantined before entering another foreign country? I'm so surprised they can be in the same cabin as you. I think if I want to bring my dog over from NZ to Aussie, it takes 6 months for her to be in Aussie quarantine and she has to travel separately with me. the process is super complicated and takes a very long time. It looks very easy for you to bring them to Sweden.
@CrazyDragonCross I don't believe that, I flew two cats over from Norway to Australia, and they were only quarantined for one month and the process was easy, they only needed regular shots and worming, and some paperwork.
@CrazyDragonCross It is definitely not a 6 month Quarantine period for NZ to Australia, there is no quarantine period required because they are both Category 1 countries, so long as the animals are healthy.
@CrazyDragonCross The requirements for travelling animals vary depending on where they are travelling from and to. For example, if I wanted to take my dog to Sweden I should get a pet pass for her, she is rabies-vaccinated last January so the antibody testing can be made immediately (120 days between the test and vaccination) and when she has proof her shot is effective I could travel. Next year no testing is needed from here if I'm right. I live in Finland in EU so are these regulations for me.
Loved the updating video... Nice to see that everything went so well... Sad I was not able to see you while you were here. Maybe on your next trip to Cali.😊hopefully we will still get your amazing video updates. I love them!
I am so sorry to see you leaving, but what an EXICITNG adventure. It looks like the dogs did well on the trip. Hope everyone settles in quickly and you all are very happy!!! Kathy with Liz/Breeze/Cricket
