I love Bobby, and I thank UNSUNG who really does a Class A job of telling the stories of these great entertainers!!! Bobby is really UNSUNG and he deserves some props!!! how sad he was so tromented by drugs...it seem drugs and entertainment just go hand in hand!!! Bobby's songs are in the fabric our our history and culture!!! I pray his strength in the Lord!!! Love you Bobby!!! You made sooo many of us happy and were the soundtrack of some great SEX!!!!
Calvin Richardson did a re-make of all of Bobby Womack's songs and he did a damn good job. Even though Unsung "watered down" some of the scandals in his life, he is still talented, still has that soulful voice, and has a great sense of humor. This joint right here is one of my favorites!
If you are here because you watched Unsung click the like button! "Wait a minute Bobby man she ain't no bitch, that's my woman". LOL My parents use to play his songs out along with "If you think you're lonely now"....good music and the good memories!
I have watched bobby on unsung for about 6 times and I'm still waiting to see it again. I LOVE YOU BOBBY. Just can't get enough of the music and his style.
That's the way I feel about 'cha ;)- Love is when, I make our souls trade places and you don't understand the songs I make or what your eyes see but in your heart you know you satisfy me.
B. Womack is the business and he speaks truth. Who knows how his personal character is, but his music speaks volume. He was definitely unsung. And for the 25 and under, well our poor lil generation is somewhat corrupt lol. Have a blessed one
Has the world lost touch with this music ? We are people that still have these feelings and experiences with our lovers .We still need these types of songs. The song that speaks to the heart

..your pushing my love a lil bit too far, i dont think you know(2x) how blessed you are. and your friend annie may, tells you all she sees. have you ever thought the bitch was trying to get close to me, yeah. think it over, think it over girl. look! thats the way i feel about you...
i know you been hurt, and so has many others too. but thats the sacrifices that life puts you through. trust in me, dear, have no fear. you dont know but God mightve sent me here, sent me here. think it over, girl...

Thankfully I came from an enlightened family in Manchester, UK. I have an older sister who introduced me to Bobby Womack's music in the 70s and he has been a guide to my spirit as a growing young man. I despair for young people today who no longer get to hear such a voice as his and such a lyricist. At least young people can listen to his music and learn the righteous path. Peace and Love, Bobby.
@reddeviljp I despair for young people today who no longer get to hear such a voice as his and such a lyricist

Yet, we must hope for the best for the young as they are the future. Let expose as many of them to the same music that led you, myself and a host of others down the righteous path.
@str8outtatexas1 yes, there is a "conspiracy" in the music business. it's only for one thing, to make money. they found out that a cute belly button can sell a record faster than soul. and it'sd all downhill from there.

This part right here: Please, please Please answer love if it Ever comes knocking at your door 'Cause what's out there knocking, baby The world don't give enough of Don't give enough of I know you've been hurt And so has others too But all you got to do Is ask about the changes That life has put them through Damn - I love that part!
Absolutely str8outtatexas, when independent artists were taken or compromised for the sake of fame and a bit of cash, music became just another tool to keep us separated in terms of race, gender, and class. These young people singing about betrayal and how the nigga or bitch is so bad, are guilty of such negativity among young people today. The days of great songs are gone, perhaps never to return, if industry has anything to say about it.
The music industry is not the problem, it's us that allow this, why are'nt we still buying and supporting this if we love it. I don't go to concerts or buy music unless it has value.

i have read about the old people talking about the music now and the music then. honestly i don't care about it, because music is music and i listen to the good stuff. but im 12 so i dont alot about the old stuff from back then.
@str8outtatexas1 I'm from the same era as you and and I miss a good love song. A great song and great vocals. Contemporary R&B is more like rap music and it all sounds the same.
love bobby womack, soul philosopher and poet...no one can sing it like bobby and I have spent many hours listening to him tell it like it is ...favorite song-stop on by....
@str8outtatexas1 I doubt you have been listening to 100% of todays music... everyone knows mtv doesnt play music anymore. Youre not looking hard enough.
@str8outtatexas1 yep..nothing better than sittin and sippin on some cognac with my fam on a summer nite bumping this shit.........i'd take that over a club ANY DAY.....
this song took me back instantly to when my grandmother use to bootleg..she had so much company tht you could just barely get down the street. back then i didnt want to hear no bobby womack, and they'd be crank'n it...but it sounds good now.
Touches my SOUL. Love the days when this type of Music was being played. You understood the words, and more importantly FELT them.. If only to bring back this Music. Thanks so much for taking me back to the GOOD DAYS. 55 and Still Love My Music. It's true. GOOD MUSIC calms the Savage Beast. This includes me on one of my bad days :) JUST ME
The 70s was the last decade of great black music. why did we lose it? some say rap, others say we entered the computerize age where they didnt use real instraments i say music execs wanted to make easy quick commercial hits with people who cant really sing. so the real singers like bobby died out. what a shame. the younger generation dont nuthin about real music, real artist, and real singing.
My dad use to have this album. he use to play this song all the time in the early 70s when he was stationed at fort rucker, alabama. good memories of my child hood. I grew up on a lot of bobbys music. this man has pipes that will stir up emotions in you. One hell of a singer.
@str8outtatexas1 You have hit the nail on the head today's music is completely void of music of this calibur during the 90's there were only 2 self contained bands Mint COndition and Tony,Toni, Tone and the later no longer exists one of my metors in music is the Authour of the Chi-Lites Living in the footsteps of another man aka Tony Drake said the same thing you did most kids are taught that you don't need to know how to play anything pr have any knowledge of music the end result today's radio
@young21fame23 -kid stay off grown folks music please.I've heard of both of those guys and they should never be mentioned on a bobby womack site or in the same breath.please!
@str8outtatexas1 hahaha i got respect for this music thats why i listen to it and if you heard of them they are NOTHING like what you said they are these days and i feel what you said but thats because the artist killing the industry grew up while the worst came out ex. soulja boy, chamillionare , 50 cent ect. and artist like j. cole and kendrick lamar are saving the industry from people like ex. waka flocka , lil wayne , new boyz ,ect i could go on and on about this but i got GOOD MUSIC to make
The brotha' says, you're pushing my love just a little bit too far girlfriend. Oooh. What a sister woundn't give to have a brotha' be so real in such a strong, loving, caring way. That would make me straighten up right there on the spot!
@str8outtatexas1 I agree. The soul that this song and many others from that time period is missing completely in today's music. I'm only 34 but i love the meaning that these songs had. You felt like the artist knew what what you were feeling. Whether it was getting ready to have a good time or suffering from a heartbreak. The soul is gone. I wish I could have lived a day in the era just to feel what others felt to have that type being heard all the time.
@str8outtatexas1 you know as a consumer of music i agree. this cat calvin richardson did and excellent album tribute to bobby womack and it came out two years ago. never heard of the album and i never saw it promoted. i think it also comes with the cultural shift that has happened in the black community. i mean most of the soul singers grew up in church and naturally they sang soulfully. most singers these days didnt get their vocal training in the churches so it comes out in the music.
All love songs from the 70's and early 80's sound like the singer is preachin'. Those who came up in a Baptist Church in the South know what I'm talkin' bout.
You can feel the Blues, Soul, and Gospel influence in the music.......IT'S SO LOVELY.
@str8outtatexas1 I AGREE WIT U ONLY TO AN EXTENT 32 AN I DONT WATCH MANY VIDEOS MUCH BUT THERE IS STILL GOOD MUSIC LEFT TRY SOME KELLY PRICE JAHEIM OR SOME MUSIQ SOULCHILD FOR EXAMPLE IF U DONT LIKE THAT U JUST A HATTA!!!!!
@DemetriusM100 I said 90% of today's music is horrible. the other 10% includes jaheim, kelly price, raheem devaughn,tank,ne-yo, and others that i definitely listen to.all that shit about a hater does not exist with me so save that garbage.
Make me think of my drunk Uncle Ray-Bone, wit his jheri-curl and dingy white Kangol hat, Stacey Adams shoes wit thin church socks dranking Colt 45...........

@str8outtatexas1 I'm from the same era as you and and I miss a good love song. A great song and great vocals. Contemporary R&B is more like rap music and it all sounds the same.

@str8outtatexas1 you know as a consumer of music i agree. this cat calvin richardson did and excellent album tribute to bobby womack and it came out two years ago. never heard of the album and i never saw it promoted. i think it also comes with the cultural shift that has happened in the black community. i mean most of the soul singers grew up in church and naturally they sang soulfully. most singers these days didnt get their vocal training in the churches so it comes out in the music.
mjjcng8958 6 months ago
All love songs from the 70's and early 80's sound like the singer is preachin'. Those who came up in a Baptist Church in the South know what I'm talkin' bout.
You can feel the Blues, Soul, and Gospel influence in the music.......IT'S SO LOVELY.
A Quite Storm Classic.
