  • THATS THE JAM GONE BOBBY!!!!! HAPPY TGFI TEXAS

  • sing it bobby

  • I love Bobby, and I thank UNSUNG who really does a Class A job of telling the stories of these great entertainers!!! Bobby is really UNSUNG and he deserves some props!!! how sad he was so tromented by drugs...it seem drugs and entertainment just go hand in hand!!! Bobby's songs are in the fabric our our history and culture!!! I pray his strength in the Lord!!! Love you Bobby!!! You made sooo many of us happy and were the soundtrack of some great SEX!!!!

  • I feel you.

  • Calvin Richardson did a re-make of all of Bobby Womack's songs and he did a damn good job. Even though Unsung "watered down" some of the scandals in his life, he is still talented, still has that soulful voice, and has a great sense of humor. This joint right here is one of my favorites!

  • my shidd

  • grew up on this type of music...great!!

  • If you are here because you watched Unsung click the like button! "Wait a minute Bobby man she ain't no bitch, that's my woman". LOL My parents use to play his songs out along with "If you think you're lonely now"....good music and the good memories!

  • @isittootight lol i jus finished watching it haha

    B. Womack is the business and he speaks truth. Who knows how his personal character is, but his music speaks volume. He was definitely unsung. And for the 25 and under, well our poor lil generation is somewhat corrupt lol. Have a blessed one

  • like this song real talk.

  • "YOU DON'T KNOW, GOD MIGHT HAVE SENT ME HERE"....That's what'sssUP!

That's grip, this is what that is. The song sounds good, cool but where its at is the pounds of honourable understanding such a case senerio would and has placed on a woman's mind, WITHOUT misplacing her dignity. That's grip, and thats a very sweet night! UmmHmmm.

  • Uncle Ron sent me. shout-out to @recordsandradio

  • GROWN FOLKS MUSIC PERIOD! WHAT!!

  • @str8outtatexas1 you got that right my brother

  • Think it over, think it over girl, you'd better think it over.

  • Thankfully I came from an enlightened family in Manchester, UK. I have an older sister who introduced me to Bobby Womack's music in the 70s and he has been a guide to my spirit as a growing young man. I despair for young people today who no longer get to hear such a voice as his and such a lyricist. At least young people can listen to his music and learn the righteous path. Peace and Love, Bobby.

  • @reddeviljp I despair for young people today who no longer get to hear such a voice as his and such a lyricist

. I thank you for giving voice so something I have been feeling for some time. I too despair for young people today for the same reason and some.

Yet, we must hope for the best for the young as they are the future. Let expose as many of them to the same music that led you, myself and a host of others down the righteous path.

The Spirit of the music lives on.

    Sprit lives i

  • @str8outtatexas1 yes, there is a "conspiracy" in the music business. it's only for one thing, to make money. they found out that a cute belly button can sell a record faster than soul. and it'sd all downhill from there.

  • @str8outtatexas1 i'm 28 and feel the same way

  • That's the way i feel!

  • THERE SHOULD BE A LOVE BUTTON

  • @str8outtatexas1 the dumbing down of America & humanity at large is what i call it. u got grown men & women acting like their kids, tryin to be their kids friends. music used to make u think as well as make you dance but now its pure idiocy.

  • @ANewDay2007 -so true my friend.

  • hello

  • @ all the old school ppl on ere....big up ...nuff respect 4 golden days.....not these crap thats saying ......ama hold u like a conversation...i mean whats that supposed to mean...madness i tell u

  • Womack always took a man to school with his lyrics. This the kind of talk that a guy would totally relate to. A grown man that really song with pure raw emotion.

  • good memories from my childhood days sa my parents mellowed out

  • LOVE IT!!!!!

  • I love this song...

  • THE STUFF..!!

  • @str8outtatexas1 You are so right. Music today you can "relate to', but cant "feel" the music. There's a differnece. when you can relate and feel the music.

  • I'M A 24 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO ABSOLUTELY LOVES BOBBY WOMACK. I GOT OLDER PARENTS AND I HEARD THIS GROWING UP. THIS IS REALLL MUSIC!!! + A WOMANS GOTTA HAVE IT!!!

  • @ccspooner This is how we "Ol' Heads" told our ladies how we felt! We brought it from the heart! Much love!

  • @ccspooner a womans gotta have it is my fav song by him

  • Don't worry cc. Im now 49, french native, and i love these songs. but my old parents were never on the way to teach me this kind of music. I did it for my sons. And we like it

  • @ccspooner i'm 17 and I love bobby womack, THERE IS HOPE FOR MY GENERATION. (lol jk not really).

  • @ccspooner now this is real talk, Everybody wants Love, but everybodys afraid of Love

  • Absolutely love this! I grew up listening to music like this...brings back so many memories!

  • PLZ PLZ PLZ MY LOVE IF IT EVER COME (KNOCKS) KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR! BEEN JAMMING THIS SINCE I WAS A LIL KID IM 21 NOW AND IT STILL TAKES ME TO ANOTHER LEVEL!

  • Back when geniuses made songs that spoke directly to your heart- put in song what you wish you could say to that woman- them songs that made you throw your arms to the sky cause the brotha on the record knew just how you felt.

  • And your friend Annie Mae tell you all she see have you eeeeeeeever thought she tryin to get close to me! I love that line!!!

  • I'M 26 AND IN MY EYES THIS IS SOME STRAIGHT UP REAL ASS MUSIC RIGHT HERE!!!!!

  • loveit

  • This part right here: Please, please Please answer love if it Ever comes knocking at your door 'Cause what's out there knocking, baby The world don't give enough of Don't give enough of I know you've been hurt And so has others too But all you got to do Is ask about the changes That life has put them through Damn - I love that part!
  • Name 1 musician 2day dat express himself like Bobby Womack???

  • Yes!! I so agree with you! 100 percent.

  • Absolutely str8outtatexas, when independent artists were taken or compromised for the sake of fame and a bit of cash, music became just another tool to keep us separated in terms of race, gender, and class. These young people singing about betrayal and how the nigga or bitch is so bad, are guilty of such negativity among young people today. The days of great songs are gone, perhaps never to return, if industry has anything to say about it.

  • The music industry is not the problem, it's us that allow this, why are'nt we still buying and supporting this if we love it. I don't go to concerts or buy music unless it has value.

  • Pac said we went from "Brotha's and Sista's" To "Nigga's and Bitches" and at about the same time we went from "Welfare living to World Wide Riches" The music reflects this strange turn of events as well.

Sad is how it makes me feel!!

  • Please answer love, if it ever comes knockin at your door...cause what's out there knockin baby, the WORLD don't give enough of" great lines....if only his book coulda have been as cohesive as his song lyrics!! LOL

  • Unfortunately Bobby Womack may very well be the last of the great singers...

  • 'Ole School ROCKS!' WOW! Go Bobby Womack! (Cleveland Homie!)

  • Real music .

  • LOVE HIS MUSIC ALWAYS!!

  • I hate the grammys award ass hole he the best. he is the poet

  • i have read about the old people talking about the music now and the music then. honestly i don't care about it, because music is music and i listen to the good stuff. but im 12 so i dont alot about the old stuff from back then.

  • He makes you FEEL what he's singing about. His emotions are so real.

  • this is what music is about

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG AND THE WORDS ARE SO DEEP.....THAT'S WHAT LOVE IS ALL ABOUT......

  • @str8outtatexas1 I'm from the same era as you and and I miss a good love song. A great song and great vocals. Contemporary R&B is more like rap music and it all sounds the same.

  • this takes back to my high school days - the 70's was the best era for music and black movies

  • ...support neo-soul stations!

  • Great track but too many upfront ads for my liking. Thanks for posting.

  • this was the song back in the day....I love Bobby Womack, he sings with so much feeling in his songs....sing baby!

  • @str8outtatexas1 - youre right - unfortunately music is crap nowadays - we only have the oldies to listen to for examples of great music

  • love bobby womack, soul philosopher and poet...no one can sing it like bobby and I have spent many hours listening to him tell it like it is ...favorite song-stop on by....

  • I remember '71. I'm 57 now, but then I was in love.

  • @str8outtatexas1 I doubt you have been listening to 100% of todays music... everyone knows mtv doesnt play music anymore. Youre not looking hard enough.

  • @str8outtatexas1 yep..nothing better than sittin and sippin on some cognac with my fam on a summer nite bumping this shit.........i'd take that over a club ANY DAY.....

  • this song took me back instantly to when my grandmother use to bootleg..she had so much company tht you could just barely get down the street. back then i didnt want to hear no bobby womack, and they'd be crank'n it...but it sounds good now.

  • @1msone - Brings back all those good family memories, don't it?

  • so aretha franklin song it first... then bobby womack... then calvin richardson =)

  • @juicyberry901 no this song is written by bobby womack, he sung it first

  • that's the sacrafice that life putsu through

  • :-)*~~~~Think it over !

  • Touches my SOUL. Love the days when this type of Music was being played. You understood the words, and more importantly FELT them.. If only to bring back this Music. Thanks so much for taking me back to the GOOD DAYS. 55 and Still Love My Music. It's true. GOOD MUSIC calms the Savage Beast. This includes me on one of my bad days :) JUST ME

  • i rememeber this song hang out on my mpmma back porch eating crab with ms betty reed in my hometown of daytona beach

  • @MsTwa1 my summer hang out in pine haven back in the mid 70s early 80s

  • ill never forget when he knocked on the door on here i looked up at my door lol

  • Comment removed

  • Don't take my love as a sign of a weakness. Check into the situation boy and dig a lil deeper! Hmmm, NUFF SAID!

  • i love this song

  • The 70s was the last decade of great black music. why did we lose it? some say rap, others say we entered the computerize age where they didnt use real instraments i say music execs wanted to make easy quick commercial hits with people who cant really sing. so the real singers like bobby died out. what a shame. the younger generation dont nuthin about real music, real artist, and real singing.

  • My dad use to have this album. he use to play this song all the time in the early 70s when he was stationed at fort rucker, alabama. good memories of my child hood. I grew up on a lot of bobbys music. this man has pipes that will stir up emotions in you. One hell of a singer.

  • @str8outtatexas1

    PREEEEEEEEAAAAAACH...YOU SPOKE ON THAT...HEAD NOD@CHU...PEACE.

  • @str8outtatexas1 You have hit the nail on the head today's music is completely void of music of this calibur during the 90's there were only 2 self contained bands Mint COndition and Tony,Toni, Tone and the later no longer exists one of my metors in music is the Authour of the Chi-Lites Living in the footsteps of another man aka Tony Drake said the same thing you did most kids are taught that you don't need to know how to play anything pr have any knowledge of music the end result today's radio

  • @str8outtatexas1 umm have you heard of j. cole and kendrick lamar

  • @young21fame23 -kid stay off grown folks music please.I've heard of both of those guys and they should never be mentioned on a bobby womack site or in the same breath.please!

  • @str8outtatexas1 hahaha i got respect for this music thats why i listen to it and if you heard of them they are NOTHING like what you said they are these days and i feel what you said but thats because the artist killing the industry grew up while the worst came out ex. soulja boy, chamillionare , 50 cent ect. and artist like j. cole and kendrick lamar are saving the industry from people like ex. waka flocka , lil wayne , new boyz ,ect i could go on and on about this but i got GOOD MUSIC to make

  • @str8outtatexas1 ... so well said! And I AGREE !!!

  • close your eyes when you listen to this song. WOW!

  • @dbraceyable I know that's right!! This song is real music!

  • The brotha' says, you're pushing my love just a little bit too far girlfriend. Oooh. What a sister woundn't give to have a brotha' be so real in such a strong, loving, caring way. That would make me straighten up right there on the spot!

  • @str8outtatexas1 I agree. The soul that this song and many others from that time period is missing completely in today's music. I'm only 34 but i love the meaning that these songs had. You felt like the artist knew what what you were feeling. Whether it was getting ready to have a good time or suffering from a heartbreak. The soul is gone. I wish I could have lived a day in the era just to feel what others felt to have that type being heard all the time.

  • this is how we did it back in the day

  • thanks for the memories

  • @palmBeach1028 thank u for uploading this.:)

  • @str8outtatexas1 True.

Talent and exceptional songwriting are treated like an after thought.

  • @str8outtatexas1 you know as a consumer of music i agree. this cat calvin richardson did and excellent album tribute to bobby womack and it came out two years ago. never heard of the album and i never saw it promoted. i think it also comes with the cultural shift that has happened in the black community. i mean most of the soul singers grew up in church and naturally they sang soulfully. most singers these days didnt get their vocal training in the churches so it comes out in the music.

  • All love songs from the 70's and early 80's sound like the singer is preachin'. Those who came up in a Baptist Church in the South know what I'm talkin' bout.

You can feel the Blues, Soul, and Gospel influence in the music.......IT'S SO LOVELY.

    A Quite Storm Classic.

  • Love this song ,,, grew up with it and it brings back memories so sweet if often bitter.

  • @str8outtatexas1 there's a conspiracy in the music industry, you're right so if you ar in the bizz sell your songs on the net! i'm in the bizz!!!

  • this brother has the natural taste for soul searching,

    think it over...

  • My daddy wore this song out

  • @str8outtatexas1 I AGREE WIT U ONLY TO AN EXTENT 32 AN I DONT WATCH MANY VIDEOS MUCH BUT THERE IS STILL GOOD MUSIC LEFT TRY SOME KELLY PRICE JAHEIM OR SOME MUSIQ SOULCHILD FOR EXAMPLE IF U DONT LIKE THAT U JUST A HATTA!!!!!

  • @DemetriusM100 I said 90% of today's music is horrible. the other 10% includes jaheim, kelly price, raheem devaughn,tank,ne-yo, and others that i definitely listen to.all that shit about a hater does not exist with me so save that garbage.

  • Make me think of my drunk Uncle Ray-Bone, wit his jheri-curl and dingy white Kangol hat, Stacey Adams shoes wit thin church socks dranking Colt 45...........

  • the greatest ever to me

  • bobby the poet one of the greatest singer songwriters my fav!!!!!!!

  • I love this song because it kept me going a many a day. Bobby Womack is a true legend.

    Mellyjean57

  • love ya guy. you can sing to me all night long. I am blkst's mother.

  • 3's a CHARM,TERRI LYNNE!!! i GOT YOU. WALK WITH ME.

  • way back in the day!!!!!! so love this song groove on Bobby!!!!!!!!!

  • I just love this song!!! it reminds me so much of those basement blacklight,

bump and grind parties. bobby womack and lenny williams had everyone

    feeling good.

  • This is a bad joint right here I'm tellin you...

  • I'm going through this song in my life right now!!! shzz!!!
