Thanks very much! Yes i used a bit of both those programs, although, when i make this one again it will be straight cuts so just premiere pro.

the funniest part in this movie that ive seen twice is when the guy gets hit with that laser in the face and the hand and it does not even hurt him. classic movie moment. funny as hell.

yeah man, i am totally with you, i was so annoyed, as it did look much better with straight cuts, but my limited skills in after effects just butchered it.
I am working on two videos that are both technology inspired. On is a biped robot video, but i can't decided on the audio track, and the other is a NASA footage compilation. Again all in sync to the audio.

But I really think you should take out all those ugly effects. Showing the old look of the film alone would be perfect. Especially when you show the longer shots of electronics and tvs and such.
I am going to use this song or some "I care because you do" songs to some interesting old movies I like. Maybe more animation oldies though.
