@BabaSaSaksijom everyone is different.....as proof certain legit medical drugs will work on some people and not on others. You may react fine to a certain batch of weed but someone else might not. Just like some people can drop dead from eating peanut butter (allergic reaction) and others will not

I can really sympathize. The repeating sounds and movements, choppy vision, racing heart, feeling like nothing is real (as if life was a joke), feeling like you're in a videogame, everyone is judging you, and you can think of nothing but the bad times you've had in life. When the attack subsides, you hide in your tiny, lonely bubble until it hits again.
Who has had long-term problems from one night at the bar? I have used a lot of both and weed is much more disturbing to me.
weed is a MAJOR cause of anxiety attack. its the first time it happens to people that they know what it is. stay away from the weed if you have alot of anxiety while smoking. its just not worth it.
You can't faint when you have an anxiety attack! It just feels like you're going to, but it's physically impossible! If you pass out, then it's something else that's bothering you...

I remember last night I was playing JSRF (best game ever lol) and then I got a bad headache and then I tried to fall asleep but my vision started going and I got sooo scared.. @killer657647 well let me tell you there is no such thing as permanent anxiety from marijuana. For me about 90% of the anxiety is affected by the way you take it for instance if you start to get an anxiety attack dont freak out just act normal and go on with what your doing. Second you need to take time calming down your subconsious because thats going to be your secret wepon when dealing with anxiety attacks. Remember to tell your subconsiouc you cannot get anxiety attacks.

@plutosarrow for those who dont agree, it is true, i gave up pot cold turkey on jan 14 2006, i took me 6 to 8 months to recover, now i scarcely get attacks, about once every 8 or 9 months, maybe even a year, but they are very mild, right after you quit you feel like your mind is imprisoned, i couldnt eat for 2 wks right after a gave up pot, a force fed myself, lost my sense of humor, i couldnt translate depth or distance (nothing looked or felt real), and i was unusually depressed.

I know some people can faint from an anxiety attack, but mine feel a bit different. I get dizzy and paranoid, but instead of fainting I tend to start thinking that everyone is attacking me and start crying uncontrolably and shaking. My wife told me to add "Screaming at the top of my lungs like a little girl and thinking that I'm dying."
I'd never have the guts to try something like that, honestly. I've had a teacher suggest it back in highschool, saying it might "Mellow me out", but I'd be afraid of having a really bad reaction.
@liloisdro Actually, Klonopin (Forgive my spelling) works really well. For people with anxiety, medications are only a way to treat a small part of the problem. They can help a great deal, but sadly they aren't a magic bullet.
also you kno your having a very very minor anxiety attack when you mouth gets dry.. anxiety attacks usually last an hour and a half but the best way i have found is to play a video game and just relax and soon you will forget about it. i also have anxiety pills put they give me a hangover lol
fainting while having an anxiety attack may sound scary but in actuality its probably the best thing that can happen becuz your hot going to feel or have to expirence the anxiety all your really going to have to do is faint and basicly sleep..

man weed and anxiety dont mix. i love weed but only when im stoned have i ever had an actual anxiety attack. ive had mild anxiety for years but it was subconscious and it stemmed from a fear of my health. now when i get too high i have horrible attacks that leave me drained afterwords.im learning alot tho and am able to control them better. 1 thing is for certain weed can cause anxiety and once a weed induced attack occurs its hard to go back to normal highs...hard but not impossible..

watch out, if you get a lot of anxiety when you smoke weed, it'll eventually stay even when you're sober. But it gets better over weeks, months, years, or life depending on how badly you were damaged.
so this summer I was smoking weed like 5+ times a day.... So when school came around i had to give a spanish presentation.... I just about fainted, I've never been so embarased in my life 20 seconds in i started to feel dizzy and time just slowed down i felt like everyone knew I was freaking out and it made it worse, my voice got all choked up and i just gave up the presentation right there....

@Cubicle0 you are absolutely correct.....weed can most definately cause panic attacks in "some people". Weed generally increases "self awareness" and if you have a tendency to be nervous it can cause you to be hyper aware of your nervousness kicking off panic. last night i was really high, and i smoke way too much, my mum text me to come home and i knew she would know, then the left side of my neck felt like it had been shocked. and my neck felt tight, thoughts were constantly running through my head and i felt very dizzy i began to have a pain running up and down my throat, it went down when i inhaled, and up when i exhaled. i think its either anxiety attack or heartburn, however i am unsure as i never had either in the past. anybody have any ideas?
Temporary dizziness leads people with panic to feel that they may pass out. This is not possible because, during panic, your heart beats faster, and your blood pressure rises. As the blood pressure rises, it becomes impossible for you to "pass out". When people faint or "pass out", it's because of a sudden DROP or lowering in blood pressure.
Same with me... I had my first the first time I smoked weed... I was terrified.. heart was racing and just couldn't relax.. had another one a different day when I was sober.. forgot about it.. moved on with my life.. now I had a huge one almost a year ago.. scared me so bad that all I do now is focus on my heart rate.. I cause my own panic attacks and stuff from focusing on my heart rate which I was never able to feel before I smoked weed...
If you exercise your heart, eat healthy and stay hydrated you'll love the feel of your own heart beat. I definitely do now. Remember it's nothng to do with weed, it's just you panicking about how unhealthy you are, the weed just makes you notice it.
Similar story. If you eat organic food, drink lots of distilled water, exercise your heart intensely and seriously cut out the "normal" food of society then I doubt you will still have panic attacks. I think it's just becoming extremely aware of how unhealthy your body is when your high that makes you panic and think you're going to die. My long story short is, I had panic attacks often, now I don't.

Wow,,i felt that same way as you recently..stressing so smoke pot and i began freaking out and thought i couldnt breathe and i didnt know whether its the weed or anxiety attack either..i was on the ground crying holding my chest because I thought I couldn't breathe..lost control of myself..start shaking and became very dizzy as if I were going to blackout or die..it was a scary experience and after that and even without the bud, i felt the same feeling..

@liloisdro Actually, Klonopin (Forgive my spelling) works really well. For people with anxiety, medications are only a way to treat a small part of the problem. They can help a great deal, but sadly they aren't a magic bullet.

also you kno your having a very very minor anxiety attack when you mouth gets dry.. anxiety attacks usually last an hour and a half but the best way i have found is to play a video game and just relax and soon you will forget about it. i also have anxiety pills put they give me a hangover lol

fainting while having an anxiety attack may sound scary but in actuality its probably the best thing that can happen becuz your hot going to feel or have to expirence the anxiety all your really going to have to do is faint and basicly sleep..

@mranxiety101 depends on how strong your body is i dont faint but sometimes i wish i would 2 escape the agony all i do now is sit at home and play video games because i cant stomach going outside constant fear man and i use 2 be so outgoing the only thing keeping me from committing suicide is my belief in god and i know i'll go to hell 4 it god bless you all

@mranxiety101 yeah exactly. I have anxiety attacks and I have never fainted, and my dr said its EXTREMELY rare that you faint from them, and thats if you are hyperventalating, in that case you MIGHT pass out.

im 12 i smoked 2 dimon bags of weed then had the worst anziety attack off my life every thing i did wold repeat in my head and noise did the same its fucking horrible the only way to stop it is to fall asleep AS HARD AS IT MAY BE

Weed does'nt have that effect on everybody. Some peoples can handle smoking weed...And if u can't handle it STOP NOW!!! Or if you have a friend that seems to have problems with smoking weed tell them to STOP before its to late.

@Mattorzo If he does'nt go out in public acting paranoid fearful an nervous around peoples while he's high then i guess don't worry about it. My reason for addressing the comment was because my own experience with weed an it had a negative effect on me i start suffering from anxiety disorders an panic attacks ever since I tried it. If your friend start having problems with the drug mentally or finacially then yeah its time for him to stop.

man weed and anxiety dont mix. i love weed but only when im stoned have i ever had an actual anxiety attack. ive had mild anxiety for years but it was subconscious and it stemmed from a fear of my health. now when i get too high i have horrible attacks that leave me drained afterwords.im learning alot tho and am able to control them better. 1 thing is for certain weed can cause anxiety and once a weed induced attack occurs its hard to go back to normal highs...hard but not impossible..

ive been doing weed for a while now. and i barley had my first anxiety attack while i was doing it. IT WAS SCARY! i thought i was having a heart attack. it didnt wear off until like 2 days. i thought my shit was laced lol

watch out, if you get a lot of anxiety when you smoke weed, it'll eventually stay even when you're sober. But it gets better over weeks, months, years, or life depending on how badly you were damaged.

so this summer I was smoking weed like 5+ times a day.... So when school came around i had to give a spanish presentation.... I just about fainted, I've never been so embarased in my life 20 seconds in i started to feel dizzy and time just slowed down i felt like everyone knew I was freaking out and it made it worse, my voice got all choked up and i just gave up the presentation right there....

@Cubicle0 yup. this is something I learned the hard way sadly...But I learned my lesson...It's been 7 months and I feel back to normal almost after seeing doctors and getting medicine for my anxiety.

@Cubicle0 you are absolutely correct.....weed can most definately cause panic attacks in "some people". Weed generally increases "self awareness" and if you have a tendency to be nervous it can cause you to be hyper aware of your nervousness kicking off panic. Unlike a can of Budweiser where you know exactly how it will affect you (because of quality control and a consistant product) each time you get weed it is a roll of the dice how it will affect you

last night i was really high, and i smoke way too much, my mum text me to come home and i knew she would know, then the left side of my neck felt like it had been shocked. and my neck felt tight, thoughts were constantly running through my head and i felt very dizzy i began to have a pain running up and down my throat, it went down when i inhaled, and up when i exhaled. i think its either anxiety attack or heartburn, however i am unsure as i never had either in the past. anybody have any ideas?

Temporary dizziness leads people with panic to feel that they may pass out. This is not possible because, during panic, your heart beats faster, and your blood pressure rises. As the blood pressure rises, it becomes impossible for you to "pass out". When people faint or "pass out", it's because of a sudden DROP or lowering in blood pressure.

Same with me... I had my first the first time I smoked weed... I was terrified.. heart was racing and just couldn't relax.. had another one a different day when I was sober.. forgot about it.. moved on with my life.. now I had a huge one almost a year ago.. scared me so bad that all I do now is focus on my heart rate.. I cause my own panic attacks and stuff from focusing on my heart rate which I was never able to feel before I smoked weed...

If you exercise your heart, eat healthy and stay hydrated you'll love the feel of your own heart beat. I definitely do now. Remember it's nothng to do with weed, it's just you panicking about how unhealthy you are, the weed just makes you notice it.

Similar story. If you eat organic food, drink lots of distilled water, exercise your heart intensely and seriously cut out the "normal" food of society then I doubt you will still have panic attacks. I think it's just becoming extremely aware of how unhealthy your body is when your high that makes you panic and think you're going to die. My long story short is, I had panic attacks often, now I don't.

That is exactly right! the first time i smoked pot it felt like an anxiety attack and i was freaking out because i didnt think i had control over my body. i couldnt tell if it was the weed or an anxiety attack. so i havent smoked since then but today i ended up having an anxiety attack. i was so freaked out. it felt like i had no control over myself and what i was saying and it felt as if i was doing everything in slow motion. panic/anxiety attacks are the worst! they can be very scary too!

Wow,,i felt that same way as you recently..stressing so smoke pot and i began freaking out and thought i couldnt breathe and i didnt know whether its the weed or anxiety attack either..i was on the ground crying holding my chest because I thought I couldn't breathe..lost control of myself..start shaking and became very dizzy as if I were going to blackout or die..it was a scary experience and after that and even without the bud, i felt the same feeling..
