  • I'm playing this in my band class :) so much fun!

  • I'm playing this song in band right now, I'm in 8th grade, And in advanced band :D

  • @MiAm1bAbY did the same when i was in 8TH, im in 9th now

  • GO HORNS!!! :D

  • Before you go bashing the conductor... Maybe the audio and video aren't synchronized?

  • @Mazoodle Also, consider the time signature that the band is playign at the moment.

  • i'm surprised at how in tune you guys were, especially the clarinets. if you go look at the other videos, it's pretty bad. i played this back in 8th grade and was trying to look for a band that could play this piece well so that i could listen to it. i think i found a good band to listen to.

  • where could i get a copy of this piece cause my band instuctor makes us play alot of cheery stuff and its so annoying some times and i would like to play this it sounds cool and just wondering are any parts for french horn in this piece?

  • 2 people are Danny Elfman haters! DX

  • I played this piece in eighth grade and were so much better... Also I liked measure 92

  • I remember playing this last year...and the year before that....this is kind of a perennial piece for my old school band. I have to say you guys played better than we did. How many people are in that band?

  • my class is playing this in advanced band for 7th and 8th graders were playing it in october for our concert

  • we are playing this at skl band one of hampshires best

  • go mallets thats balls deep

  • omg nightmare before christmas lol

  • we are playing this at are next concert

  • were playin this at our next concert :)

  • this song was soooo hard at our spring concert cuz were only 7th graders and this is like high school music

  • they'd be good without that weird incapable conductor...

  • our band is playing this (8th grade student)

  • @chicopapass you can't be playing it well... don't be cocky

  • @Timotehrey i was just sayin'. jeese our band is a group of 13 year olds pretty sure we arent cocky. and now im in 10th grade.... kinda late

  • Why the fuck do people talk while the musicians play!

  • we are gonna play this soon but we are adding the willy wonka song. this is so awesome

  • @Nardo091 8th grade also!

  • We've just played it in hs band, I like very much!

  • <3 3:04 onwards, always made me bounce in my seat when our school band played that part

  • We had to play this piece in my school band also! :D

  • my middle school played this, nowhere near that good of course, but the 1st clarinet part is so much fun to play

  • where did this conductor go to school?! he is so off!

my hs played this last march in disneyland!

  • the conductor is not a "he" but a "she"...

  • @neintju Awkward...

  • @wsfreak hahaha it does look like a dude! And "She" is wayyy off

  • dude, it could be the youtube video, you know. It looks like to me that it's dragging, and that's common for youtube videos.

  • i can promise you its not lag, she is sooo off

  • the sync is probably just off...

  • @wsfreak There might be a delay between the video and the audio.

  • my middle skool band played this too!! but not as good hahaha

  • @sk8tergurl246 Yea same here!

  • My middle school band played this, we played it pretty good, but definatley not as good as this

  • when my band played it we had a massive bass (brass) section so spider man sounded AWWESOOOMMEEE

  • @CyricMccallen When my band played it, we had a great trombone section (for which I'm a part of, lol) and we killed the piece, specifically Beetlejuice.

  • @arrista300 I love the trombone section in beetle juice!

  • very nice vibratos

  • Go French Horn! <3

  • OMG! yes!

    ITS THE BESSSTTTTT

  • GO TENOR SAXS

  • my high school band played this and we rocked it out this had to be one of my fav concert band pieces we played GO TENOR SAXOPHONES!!!!!!

  • go bassoon. =) though you can't hear it

  • when our 8th grade band played this, the beginning of beetle juice was played by our bass clarinets (sounds like base).

  • Wonderful piece of music! We played this with our band last week. Unluckily the french horns parts were missed. :-( If anybody can help us (sending a copy of those 2) please contact me. Thanks!

  • i played this song !

  • im playing this at school and it is tales from the crypt, this is halloween, edward scissorhands, beetle juice, and spider-man

  • The earlier part was "Tales from the Crpyt" followed by "This is Halloween" and the rest I am not sure as I still got a lot to catch up on.

  • Oh wait. I also heard the ones from Spider-Man.

  • i am a trumpet player and they are the best

  • very fun song

  • we played this in eighth grade, ohhhh i forgot my eternal love for this piece! :D :D :D

  • we played this at my school two years ago.. we didnt use it to compete though, which sucks because i LOVED it... this year we're playing Nightmare Befoe Christmas, so hopefully we'll actually use it

  • Does anyone know if this arrangment is a grade 3?

  • yes, its a grade 3

  • Excellent, then this is the one we're playing this year. Thanks!

  • Probably not.

  • Yep, I'm the only tuba player. We're not very diverse. We have One Bassoon, who's my best friend, but you can't hear her. NO Bass Clarinet. A shit ton of Trumpets, who play obnoxiously loud.

  • Me too, I know how it feels.

  • Playing this, this year. A band with almost 100 people, oh god. It's going to be fun though, at least I hope. I'm the only Tuba player, woo.

  • You have 100 people in your band and you're the ONLY tuba player? My band has like 50 people and we have me and two other tuba players, I also play lead trumpet in jazz band. I freakn' love this piece! Danny Elfman is my hero! Go Oingo Boingo!

  • I played the Eflat Alto clarinet, clarinet, bass clarinet and contra bass...My school plkayed this but this one sounds a whole lot better!!! Hahah!

    Was while it lasted though.

  • Is that Christa Boerman?

  • Yes, the conductor (conductress???) is Christa Boerman.

  • we play this song

the edward scissorhands part of the song is so pretty

  • at the end of nightmare before Christmas we just did a grand pause and went straight to Edward Scissorhand

  • im playing this same exact son in my band its an awesome peaice i play bass clarinet

  • at 3:01 the tuba needs to get alot louder our tuba palyer , zach, can play that 50x louder

  • dude....the music is marked for mp....even if your tuba player can play louder, it's supposed to be quiet in the music XD

  • Really cool. And great job. I'm in band, and I would love to play this sometime. But I've only been playing for three years.

  • my school's band is gonna play that song too, but i dont no if it will be that good

  • Are class is going to FAIL! But we may make it out ;) I'm ok at it though ( GO FLUTES) :P

  • W00t for the flutes! XD lol.

  • hellz ya!!

  • i c u guys have a slideshow in the background...did u guys make that up yourself? because we are doing this song and we had the same idea that u guys had

  • As did my school. lol

  • Comment removed

  • u guys did great!

  • We're playing this in my eighth grade band.

    I play tenor saxophone.

  • r u a kahler person?

  • my school band is playing this for a concert and were in the 7th and 8th grade. were pretty good at it!

  • Good band, although your conductor sucks. I'm surprised that doesn't throw the band members off.

  • Good point but mine is better... the video is not synchronized with the music. I think if the conductor was that stupid they would have been "thrown off"

  • As Fishmon13 said, Youtube doesn't synchronize the video and the audio well. Also, my band teacher has told me that the more behind the band is, the more skilled and experienced the band is.

  • You forget that YouTube does not synchronize video and audio well.

  • just a question for the sax part at 85 do the saxes play that whole thing or is it split up between two parts cause if it is like mine, then it sounds amazing

  • i play alto sax for my eight grade band this is such a great song though the saxes have a boring part o well

  • What are you talking about? The saxes have a soli at the beginning to Tales from the Crypt, they get a solo in The Nightmare Before Christmas, they get some of the main part in Edward Scissorhands, the main melody later on in Beetlejuice, an epic part in Spiderman and Tales from the Crypt again at the end.

  • u would think its boring if u have a no it all first chair and ur fifth but ya i forgot about the beetle juice part i like that one

  • lol im in TWMS too awkward moment???? i don't think so. hey sam hows it going?

  • Dude, i'm playing this in my symphonic band (i'm sam and i play the tuba) and this is by far the hardest music i've ever played, even all-county is easier than this

TWMS SYMPHONIC BAND CONCERT FESTIVAL RESULTS: CONCERT: SUPERIOR, SUPERIOR, SUPERIOR; SIGHT READING: SUPERIOR

  • I play the percussion at Williams Middle School in Tracy CA. We're doing this song for Music in The Parks on 5-9-09. I play the Timpani part on this song, and this will be the only song I play the Timpani on. All other songs I play are on the Snare Drum.

  • I play bass clarinet and it's probaly the most exciting piece I've played. Because the only parts I get a 2 notes lol God I love this song.

  • Hey I play bass clarinet too. This song is awesome! It's a little tricky, but pretty fun.

  • Yeah, go bass clarinets! It's such a fun song to play. I'm playing this for a concert tomorrow. It isn't that tricky for me, probably because I thrive off of Danny Elfman music and I know it so well. :D

  • I play bass clarinet too, and this is what we're playing for our spring concert!!

  • oh my god, our band does not have a french horn section. it really makes a difference

  • u just rewined it 4 me :( i never noticed that now i hear it eveytime

  • aw sorry. that's why i don't read comments before watching a video ^^;

  • GASP...that...was...AMAZING! my band is only playing bar 24 to 49 (nightmare before chrismas)

  • My band is only 7-8 grade, and we're playing the whole song.

  • im playing it in

    our ms band

    i play trombone

    Bettle juice Roxkz

    the best part hahahahahha

  • totally agree

only i play the tuba, they have the best parts in this song

  • why is it when i hear it everyone says middle school band i think this is more high school oriented piece . . . my 8th grade was friggin half notes and quarter notes this was the first time i acually had a melody (tuba u know impoosible to get melody) i think it went a tad slow but u guys were amazin (at least for me)

  • i played this today in band

    our flexitone sounds better

    but otherwise good

  • amazing tempo changes

were playing this now for our middle school band and we sound prettttttyyy good

    i love playing it

i play tenor sax so i have some ok parts

but ive looked at the other parts, theyre pretty fuckin hardddd

  • ur lucky i play tuba its annoying (almost broke my back on a couple occasions) wish i played a light instroment like you (tear)

  • this music was so easy :)

but it was fun when i did it with my highschool last year. :D

    awesome job.

  • ima learn this in a couple of months for a concert

were like way better than the other schools

  • really nice! my sofmore and juniors co friends are going to do that we will beat that lol! well really nice!

  • OMG dude diz is my fav an ima learn how to play it awesome :D

  • This was really good. Sounded exactly like the recording. Great tempo changes

  • for my band concert we were going to play this but everyone sucked at it so our teacher got angry, so we never played it.

  • cool were playing this for one of our marching shows for the little junior high kids =D i play tenor for this music

  • OMG WE PLAYED FOR OUR LAST CONCERT!!!! THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS UP! btw i play oboe

  • i played this when i was in the 7th grade it was so fun and i play bass clarinet my part usually sucks

  • finally! a decent recording of the music for a darkened theatre. all the other ones are complete trash (no offense) compared to what im used to hearing. this one actually makes me want to keep watching instead of change it to something else. with the other videos the main titles from edward scissorhands don't give me chills like it's supposed to, but instead pains in my ears. good job

  • Was it like halloween when you where playing it or what

  • yes, we had a theme-concert at halloween last year

  • this is probably the best version of this piece that i have seen on youtube so far

    everything else sucked

  • Why is this called a orchestra and not a symphonic band? I see no string instruments

  • We are from Holland. We call this type of instrumentation a "harmonie orkest". I just translated "orkest" to "orchestra" but I think the correct translation should be "concert band" although "wind orchestra" is also common used.

  • Played this in band, very fun song!

  • so did i!

  • so did we!

  • i play trumpet, we played this, and it was pretty easy for us.

  • i play trombone 2 but its good for u progress in me ^^

  • my band played this and it kicked totall ass

  • yeahh! us too. tpms rules!

  • I Play percussion for this =)

  • our high school concert band played this and it was seriously my favorite piece of music ever.

  • this song is really made for college and high school bands. a grade school or intermediate school can try but it might be really hard for them.

  • my middle school Frankenmuth middle school is playing it for spring concert

  • thats cool, cause mine is too, but we're not the best at it. i go to Citrus Hills

  • Is citrus hills in michigan?

  • no its in corona, california.

  • yeah, we played it too, i posted it on my account. although its okay, we are performing it again, and ill post that one

  • oh i'm playing that this year ^^ finally my music teacher picks something good.

    we've only practiced it 3 times so far ^^;

beetle juice is over kill XD *is clarinet 1* but everything else is more or less easy ^^

  • do you play clarinet 1? O.o

cause i do, i can barely play it!!!

  • indeed i do, the only part that bugs me is beetlejuice xD i get it but then the teacher speeds it up, cause we're still playing to slow

  • I got clarinet one too and I'm like. T__T Waah. Hahaha. It's a fun song ta play though. :D Go clarinet people~ :DD

  • yeah, were playing this in band

  • our 8th grade band played this but we had to play with the seventh graders so they butchered it and it sounds horrible.

  • hey! im in 7th and we are prettay good :]

  • Our seventh grade band is terrible, I mean we were loads better than them in seventh grade so i got nothing against you.

  • this is excellent!! you guys play very well the best that ive seen so far. good job!

  • i like how your bell set sounds.

we played this in 8th grade, and it wasn't this good, but we have too many woodwinds, and not enough brass.

    :D

  • lol yeah mine a woodwind !! he he i love it !!!!!

  • My 8th grade band played this tonight, it sounded SO cool. Awesome job though!

  • O:

    I feel so inferior.

    xD

I can't play the Beetle Juice part to save my life.

  • hahah me neither
