I personally love the way you can hear a tad of Beatles influence, but it's not overwhelming to the point well you're like "oh they're just another bunch of wannabe musicians." No, these guys have a distinct style and sound that only they can really have, but they are influenced by so much older (60's) sounds that really in my opinion are just better than music made today. That combination makes them definitely one of the most pleasurable bands to listen to in my mind, and ears.
I think Easy Beat will always be my favorite Dr. Dog album, followed closely by toothbrush. Excited to hear their new album, but scared at the same time.
Now you can take a feather and pull it from your hat. You murder all the liars who say they're about to die. Oh die, die, die, die. You know that you'll die, die, die, die I won't let you die, die, die
a friend recommended this for me to listen.... i'm digging this!
JUSTIN: you do realise how dumb you sound, right? by the way i'm no hipster.. i dont shop at Urban Outfitters drink coffe all the time and wear my sister's jeans! the music one listens to does not determine wether or not they're a hipster! LEARN THEN SPEAK!
JUsTiN: Your comments sound more like a description of your juvenile pathetic life. You prob don't even know what I'm saying. Get some anger management therapy or get back on yr meds
@SlearnStudios he definitely has a lennon-esque, nasal quality to his voice, but i find he's the mccartney of the mcmicken/leaman collaboration. scott tends to write the diddies while toby tends to get dark and serious. it's a pretty neat parallel they've got, and even though it's running alongside the beatles, it maintains uniqueness. note: DD are also one of the best live acts around.
@SlearnStudios Ehh his voice does not to me really, but Dr. dog has similar musical arrangement techniques or whatever that make them remind a lot of people of the Beatles. I personally dont think they sound a whole lot a like other than the arrangements of their songs though.
love this track seen them play in cardiff uni south wales uk backing the magic numbers they were awesome bought this cd off them after the gig great stuff
