What struck me as funny as how many normal people stood in the heat getting drunk an watching things get pushed off a ramp into gross water? The NERDS were very organized and civil, while many of the "normal" people were drunk and rude..hmm.. if thats the way normal people are supposed to act, then I'm glad I'm not "normal"
We're not really nerds; more like "fans or enthusiasts". I'm guessing you stumbled in from the Red Bull event? Not accusing you of this, but a lot of the people comming in were calling the Metrocon patrons "freaks" or "weirdo's". One guy actually took a ninja headband off a little kid and ran off.
hey i can c my afro n the back stupid red bull ppl i almost kick 1 guys ass n his friends but every body loved my cosplay i mean who dont like afro samurai
Not only was the event turned into something "judgemental", but it was downright scary. I know you weren't any part of this, but the Red Bill people ruined this convention. I personally had a group of about 10 drunk guys following my friend and I for five minutes screaming sexual obscenities. I also had some friends get their skirts lifted up (all under the age of 13!). Cosplayers deserve some fucking respect as human beings whether you people understand them or not.
I know what you mean Kamuro! I was a Sexy no Jutsu Kisame, and was wearing a tank top and mini skirt. The leers I got made me thankful that I was hanging out with my guy friends.
The flugtag goers caused our convention a world of problems. I was working security this year, and there was not a time that all of our man power was being exausted due to idiot fag douche redbull drunks.
Thanks for the respect Jackcdemp. For some it was hurtful that the environment was supposed to be friendly and relaxed and it turned into something judgemental.
Scary, apparentlyxabby? No, the scary part was all the drunks coming into MetroCon and giving the cosplayers, who were supposed to be there, wierd looks.
I prefer the term geek myself. I know to an outsider it might seem down right bizzare to see people dress up and act like this but honestly going to anime cons like this is almost a lifestyle for some people. I may not go that far but I am not ashamed to go walking down the street from my hotel in full costume, regardless of how many stares I get. My view is if you don't criticize how I choose to spend my free time then I won't criticize you.
ya, the ppl 4 the red bull thing? my friend and i had a free hug sign and they 'would hug those weirdos/freaks" what was up with that?! and the parents who told their kids to look away i was like wtf??
Nerds? Where? I only see high drunk guys slapping each other.

I am pretty sure red bull doesn't care what is going on around their events unless its a national kkk rally. ;)

Yeah, sounds like an unfortunate oversight by one or both of the planning committees.

Lol, I was there for Red Bull Flugtag. It's really scary to see hundreds on nerds in one place at one time.
