Could have went from alot higher!, this lake/pond is over 2500 feet deep, there has been a few species of fish found here and only here!, evolving in to remarkable creatures. some experts believe that the tunnels in twin lakes lead all the way to the ocean over 1000 kms away, ice cold subterainium rivers feed this place. It really is alot more then a cliff jumping spot
its actually unknown how deep it is but its estimated thats its about 450 - 650 feet deep. The lake goes down and into an hourglass shape and yes is filled with many caves and is thought to lead to the ocean actually near mexico somewhere.
Another interesting but scary fact about this place... About 20 years ago a man dove down to try to find the bottom and went through the hole of the hourglass shape but could not find his way back up through and eventually ran out of air supply.
Well, when your heading south from invermere on the Highway 93/95 you take a left towards the Windermere Golf course. Go past the golf course and follow the raod all the way around. There will be a turn off to the right that goes to a mining road with a compound. Go past this compound up the winding hill and just keep driving and stay right. There will be a parking lot with a little trailhead on the left. Down the path, across the little mini bridge and follow the path. And there you are!
I really miss this spot(and bc),I remember my first jump their ,fuck is that water cold !lol
