I've also tried to stop a car from hitting a fence... but it was a double cab Toyota truck... i wasn't coming that fast... it was just the momentum from a little slope. I told my dad to hit the breaks but he didn't listen so i tried to stop it. I was able to slow it down a bit, but when my elbow touched the iron fence i thought "screw this" so i pulled my arm away. It would've crushed my arm if I didn't :). Cheers for trying to stop a car crash! Keep up the good work
I've only just noticed this vid, and now I fell ill, The thought of bones cracking between two cars, I can hear the sound, oh god I'm gona be ill again.
i am sorry about your wrist, you make the most brilliant use of your hands out of many people. really fancy this grater insert you made, it looks so much fun! do you sell them? Danke
Evidently, you are an extremely intelligent man! Congrats on being so innovative throughout your situation. The grinder attachment was especially humorous.
Your car models in this vid look pretty specific. The aerial view looks like one of 2 cars I know very well. Either a Honda Civic Hatch ('92-'95) or more than likely a BMW E36/8 M Coupe ('98-'02) Although they are VERY different cars, from the top they are quite similar. Your car, in the video, with the flared fenders and "kidney" grill looks more like the M Coupe. I enjoy watching your ingenuity! Keep posting these great vids! BTW, Glad you're doing better now!
Does your experience in gears allow you to make gears that work better together in certain situations? Or did you have to experiment and/or learn about them too?
Aint that the way it always goes. All this time watching out for table saws and router bits, and it's some reasonably cold water that finally sneaks up and gets ya.
Only on this channel can we witness a bit of bad luck end-up as a hydroelectric powered nut-grinder. Take care and all the best.
Having had a broken wrist, I know what you're going through. Definitely keep working the resistance ball, or whatever therapy your doctor gives you. The range of motion and strength comes back in stages.
You know Matthias, you think in a whole different way then most people. I seriously think you have a touch of Leonardo da Vinci's thought process. You can break difficult problems down to very easy to understand solutions. You really are a genius! Thanks for sharing.
in the moment it is easy to forget just how HEAVY a car is taking into consideration "inertia". Ah well...things happen. Hope the pain subsides soon bud.
Sorry to hear about your accident, Matthias. Glad to see you're on the mend. Road ice isn't fun to deal with. We get it here in the south, too, though not nearly to the extent you do.
Take care and I'm looking forward to that next video.

What do you think of having the mouse on the left?
I like how that puts the alphabet area of the keyboard in center with the monitor.
I'm right handed, but since I discovered this layout, I have never gone back.
Saves my desk space & I'm lined up with the monitor instead of typing off to the side. Plus my left hand is now twice as close to the mouse than my right hand was.
The finishing touch was to change the cursor to a straight up & down arrow.
Dang, I never noticed that "natural keyboard" observation. That's very cool. I have always hated those things, they never felt 'natural' to me. Thanks for the video, hope you get well soon!
God Bless you, Matthias. You can continue to be creative with only one hand working. I'd like more detail on adapting the nut grinder. I got one of those things; I use it to grate fresh Parmesan on pasta. With your idea, I might get enough cheese before the spaghetti cools!
Sorry that happened. As an aside; you should see my one-armed buddy tear a keyboard up. He lost his arm as a young man, in an accident. He's an IT guy now and to see him typing on his special keyboard is astounding. He may have only one arm, trust me, you wouldn't want to get into a brawl with him. He'd tie you up in knots and then beat the snot out of you with his below shoulder nub! Seen it happen!
I wish you a speedy and full recovery. I really enjoy your vids. BTW, you probably won't have full range of motion for atleast a yr. Sometimes, it takes longer than what one thinks it does. Again, speedy recovery.
This is a really down to earth guy who I respect. He tried to do a good deed of protecting the other car at his own risk. He's a great carpenter. He's just a good guy that I respect. Anybody Agree?
Ouch! I sprained my left ankle during a walk in the woods with my aunt last summer, was advised not to walk around and pretty much couldent for around a week, nothing broken though. Stepped into a rabbit hole or whatever their called.
@Carrierski: I know that he lives in Canada, but he is born in Germany. If he reads my comment, he will understand it. But for everybody else: i was just curious, what the guys at the hospital were saying, when he had to get the cast taken off.
@x86cowboy - A little pricey for me but that is a great idea. Adjustable for almost anyone. - - Imagine if someone had one arm 6 inches shorter than the other how valuable this would be to them. Thanks for mentioning this great looking product. I bet it will really help some people here.
Cool story, bro.
