  • Wow, so Speaker Haffley did end up becoming President, who knew?

    (Like if you get it)

  • dobar film u pičku materinu

  • Where is the rest of this series??? Please upload it ALL on YouTube in full screen and on English!!!!

  • @Hermione1983 this is trailer you dumbshit... hermione..

  • @Yuurekk THAT'S WHY SHE WAS ASKING FOR THE SERIES,,,,

    fucking moron.

  • EPIC Level CHEESE,

    uhhh Houston,

    we have Cheese

  • who cares about the science as long as it touches you emotionally.

  • this is stupid, first If the moon was twice the wieght of earth the earth would begin to orbit around the moon, secound is stupid the fact of tryng to distroy the moon with that rockets , the planet life will extinguish in the same way without moon!! And Antony ppl now care about if is possible or not!! this kind of siries have to get some intelligent and plausible storyline!!!

  • Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask the movie. Coming march 2009.

  • I've had better physics in my dreams, where I'm flying, and I've done some amazing things in my subconscious, like getting blowjobs on the sun while doing a line off apollos ass. This movie displays worse physics than any of that.

  • If the moon was twice the wieght of earth the earth would begin to orbit around the moon which would orbit around the sun. People are stupid. Starwidget it was a german show and abc adopted it. Also if a piece of brown dwarf was dislodged it would evaporate because it is gas, and we wouldnt miss it due to the fact that the piece that hit the moon would have everything orbiting it as it heads to earth. Where do they get their info anyway.

  • is boaring now MR president ....wahahha

  • I cried when Roland died and I think this mini series is brilliant :)

  • i really liked this!

  • Science so soft, it flies apart due to the lack of molecular cohesion.

  • science fail ...

  • @Anthonyk312 oh so your a scientist are you??

  • @AllyandAnt A first grader could see the stupidity of this show.

  • @Anthonyk312 not really. i liked it and im yr 11 so it doesnt matter if the 'science is a fail' the story of the film is brilliant and who watches a film just for the science anyway?

  • i cried when i watched that it was so good!!

  • @haytay140 i cried when Roland died :'(

  • the moon stopping an object traveling at 1/3 the speed of light and twice the mass of the earth? realistic right? man this film must be such a shit

  • you faggot you didn't understand a thing

  • @0marius0 its actually 1/3000 the speed of light. they said 6000 km/min, which is 100 km/sec. the speed of light is 300,000 km/sec.

  • @Anthonyk312 hahaha true

  • how can the whole world be watching a meteor shower if one side is always daytime?

    electromagnetism can't affect gravity.

if the moon is now twice the mass of earth, shouldn't the earth be faliing towards the moon instead of the other way around?

    best science satire ever

  • @Anthonyk312 thats what i thought, wouldn't it be forcing the earth at least to orbit it?

  • I actually feel myself getting dumber as I watch this!!

  • wanna wanna wanna watchit. . .

  • Because good science fiction involves events and technologies that will, at some point in the future, be real because they don't break the laws of physics. If you want to watch drivel that insults your very sentience with its ludicrousness, watch professional wrestling.

  • David James Elliot...YUM!

  • flying ships and trains? Awesome, I have to buty this one SOON!

  • I rented this movie at blockbuster, its 3 hours 10 minutes long, I didn't even know this was a mini series until now.

  • 2:05 LOL XD

  • They explode the moon to free the black (!) dwarf! how stupoid can you get. the americans solve every problem with an explosion. too bad they can't do it in real life.

  • Its a brown dwarf you douche

  • Same old plot. Earth is in danger, american president is consulted, american heroes go into space, the detonate nuclear bombs(what else?) they save the world.

  • except thats not the solution they use jackass...but thanks for playing the game. better luck next time

  • best space movie!!!

  • iv only seen 2 episodes of this im wondering if they made any new ones or if the ending happend

  • :-DDD

  • Science Fail.

  • i never got to watch the 2nd part of this and now i can't find it on the website. can i get it somewhere else??

  • Its obvious they confused a Brown Dwarf which is a failed star that never developed into an actual star and a Black Dwarf which is when a white dwarf cools enough to no longer emit radiation. actually no Black Dwarfs exist yet since the time it takes for a white dwarf to cool enough is longer than the predicted age of the Universe. Lost almost made as much sense as this movie and thats just sad

  • DORK!!

  • how does the moon affect the gravity on earth.......the more the unstable the moon the more anti-gravity we will feel on earth? thats bull!

  • The latest Skeptics Guide to the Universe podcast has a interview with Phil Plait where, at the end of the interview, they rip this to shreds.

  • Let me get this straight. Some object crashes into the moon (of course there's a big explosion) multiplying it's mass to one twice as much as the earth.

Then em-energy override's local gravity + not the earth circles the moon, but the moon circles the earth.

No wonder it's a mini-series ! That's a load of horseshit ! But go ahead and cancel shows like Eli stone -_-

  • "I love you both, very much"

    saaaarcasm XP

  • this is terrible. seriously, did they bring in a science illiterate to advise this mini-series? and james cromwell's career is really going downhill...

  • Is it totally science bullocks?!

    Isn't it even remotely theoretical!?

  • 100% of your recommended daily allowance of fiction. With 0% Science. But, packed full of that major network cheesiness you've come to expect!

  • Failure. I hate that.

  • If the electromagnetic energy is powerful enough, it will override local gravity.

  • Electromagnetic energy = light. Light does not override gravity. Matter doesn't just consist of huge magnets that suck up trains.

  • I'm well aware. :) I was just quoting the horribly inaccurate line from the movie because it's so terrible. :P

  • i liked it

  • u guys r weirdos

  • Comment removed

  • wow epic fail. either they did not get scientific advisers or are they just grossly underestimating peoples level of intelligence.

  • me and my g/f the whole time are wondering how the people at abc could put this steamy pile on the air?!?!? dumbest thing ive EVER seen, and ive seen a lot of dumb.

did you notice when the giant ship is coming out of the water that all the water stays in the ocean? what is holding the water down? the moon splits in half from one measly mega-rocket when 1300 nukes barely scratch the surface? STEAMY PILE OF BAD PROPAGANDA

  • An instant Rifftrax.

  • this actually HURT my brain. I don't mean it gave me a headache, I mean the sheer stupidity caused my brain to curl up in a fetal position inside my head whilst whimpering at me not to watch it again.

  • And I wouldn't call what looks like 2 missiles our "Best Weapon".

1,300 Nukes... Maybe. But 2? Oh no no no.

And what was up with the atmospheric explosion when it hit the moon? What atmosphere does the moon have to ignite such a explosion?

  • . . . Honestly? The Moon's wieght becomes double that of Earth's? Gravity gets fucked? By something that is actually a mini-star in the real universe? Wow. How... Dumb.

  • That is...very bad science.

    Very, very bad.

    Go pukey now.

  • That's very bad. Please leave the word "science" out of the sentence :)

That's gonna be the best "scientific" satire ever shown ;)

  • I knew more about astrophysics than the people who made this show when I was about six years old. This must be a joke. I refuse to believe someone is actually putting this on TV.

  • this was actually good o-o

  • hahahahhha, wath a joke, hahahhahah

  • abc needs a new series that is a Science Fiction, Situation Comedy called "Brown Dwarf".

  • What rubbish. This sort of tripe is little more than a ludicrous, fear-mongering, propaganda vehicle for the ailing, mainstream, gravity-centric model of the universe.

And, even though it may look REAL exciting to the uninformed mind, I'm sorry to say, boys & girls, that it just doesn't work that way.

Nature cares nothing for man's bad science, nor the "laws," nor the melodrama he contrives bassed on his consensus ignorance (bad science).

  • apophis 2036,,,,,no matter what,,,it will be a hell of a light show, maybe with a grand finale, hahahahahaha

  • I saw the first 1/2 last night and despite the ad reviews on here...I thought that it was really good.

  • Holy s**t. ABC just f**ked Issac Newton in the ass with a lead pipe and made us watch the rape tape.

  • That's gold!! :)

  • LOL they're going to blow up the moon..

  • the concept is OK but it would have been much better if it was a regular asteroid that hit the moon and threw it off. besides there obviously retarded considering the fact that a brown dwarf is a depleted star not a chunk of magic rock.

  • It's not even a star. Its a gas giant not quite big enough to be a star. Apparently the writers have never heard of Wikipedia.

  • I'm at a loss for words to express how incredibly stupid this show was. I think there is now a "10dB aperture" in my head where my brain used to be.

  • Aaaaaaaagh! The stupid, it burns! The only reason to watch this piece of shit is to MST3K it.

  • If Mike & Co. Rifftrax this I'm buying it 1000 times.

  • impact-themed disaster movies? please, that is SO 1998

  • this will be awsome who cares if its fake epocolips movies pwn all movies

  • What the hell is James Cromwell doing in this turd.

  • lol

  • why is this video 2 stars outta 5? i thought this mini series would be pretty interesting... i guess it's just an epic fail.

  • Seems this was actually based on the book Life As We Knew It, from the 80s. It's a good read, but the series looks like a corrupt versionThe book focused more on the "impact" it had on a family, and never had anything to do with the moon hitting the Earth. It had much more realistic concepts. Too bad. When I heard about the meteor shower on the moon, I really got my hopes up for seeing a cinematic adaptation of the book. Oh well. I'll probably watch it anyway, or at least the first few minutes.

  • Ye gods. I just *know* I'm gonna watch this despite the horrible science. I'm such a sucker for disaster porn... :P

  • 0:58 - 100Db aperture???????? i can sort of get on board with ignoring physics laws for the purposes of sci fi... but how can you measure aperture size in decibels?? stupid writers. also the english accents are horrifically bad. now if you'll excuse me im gonna ignore this crap and turn my stereo up to 47cm!

  • Pff... It's an ultrasound camera! Duhhhhh...

  • don't 'duhhhhh' me when you clearly haven't got a clue what you're going on about! that is not an ultrasound camera she's using, its a telescope - amazingly enough ultrasound doesn't work in space. Db in ultrasound is used to measure wave intensity anyway, not aperture. Db is a dimensionless unit, apertures are basically holes, which have dimensions and so cannot be measured with a dimensionless unit like Db.

  • Ah the internet--where people don't understand satire.

  • lol my bad :P

  • People outside the US saw this movie last year and then came the torrents which took care of the rest. To the 1 of you who has not seen it yet, being water boarded would be more humane then sitting thru the 4 longest hours of this epic of boring proportions.

  • Jebus H. Dumbfuck people, IT"S SCIENCE FUCKING FICTION. Just like Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth, or 20,000 Leagues, or even Star Treks warp fucking 9. NOT REALITY. Unbelievable you people don't understand the concept of fiction.

  • They could at least use right terminology and right effects. Electromagnetic fields do not affect "local gravity." "Brown Dwarf" is a huge planet. Something that massive to move the moon will destroy it. If the moon had twice its mass, the earth would begin to orbit in a binary system.

  • Why bother? It's basically mindless fluff with so little basis in reality, that interspersing real science into it, would just be confusing. It's called "poetic license", and has been around since the beginning of written fiction. If people do not understand that, well then...they're basically too stupid to breathe. I haven't seen it, but I'm going to watch it, because goofy shit is fun to watch, even if the premise for it isn't.

  • I'm not sure if this is proof that Americans are ignorant when it comes to science, or part of the reason why Americans are ignorant when it comes to science. Regardless, it's not helping the cause, here...

  • Atrocious premise, lousy narration. TV crap at it's finest... ;-)

  • I would like to invoke the notion of "fractal-wrongness". It's not only wrong. It's wrong on every conceivable scale of resolution.

That being said, if it weren't a serious matter of misinforming the public (even if it is just for the sake of an "interesting" story), I'd heartily enjoy this hilarious series.

  • THE MOON IS NOT CAPABLE OF MANIPULATING GRAVITY AT THIS LEVEL

    bahahahahahahaha

  • They couldn't even consult a BS in physics/astronomy? I mean, I know it's science FICTION, but there's a limit to which you can break the laws of physics.

  • idiots are born every second. this crappe smells like chicken-manure! What a waste of money and airtime!

  • HAHAHAHAHA wtf..."there's a piece of a brown dwarf stuck in the moon"

    ....

    no words describe this..

  • Find the creators of this shit and lynch them. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE/SERIES! You will lose a good twenty IQ points. Brown Drawfs are the size of Jupiter and YOU'RE TELLING ME NO ONE FUCKING SAW IT COMING?

My eyes and ears are bleeding.

  • This is one of the stupidest trailers I have seen in a while.

  • Ye gods, this movie is drowning in cliches...

  • ALGORE predicted this would happen because of fossil fuel and carbon foot prints of amercans destroying the universe.MAYBE ONE OF THOSE ASTEROIDS CAN FIND ITS WAY TO WASHINGTON DC. AND ALGORE'S HEAD.

  • The horrible thing is, enough idiots will watch this that the ratings will fool those responsible their effort was worthwhile.

Luckily, the internet is not so easily fooled. Spread the word, fan the flames, show people how much this sucks if they don't come to that conclusion on their own.

  • I just lost about a billion brain cells by watching that...

  • The science looks wrong, wrong, wrong. On the other hand, maybe it will be fun.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA Oh god I wish I could show this to my former teacher in physics

I swear by the moon that he'd smash the Tv.

  • This is dumb. I mean really dumb. This reaches such a low of stupidity that I can't think of any words for it. It's like Hyper stupidity.

  • Get ready... for the dark side of the stupid.

  • Hang on! This is gonna be bad!

  • interesting.this begins the same day "operation blackjack" is supposed to go down (nuke attack).

  • Ariel! Ookla! Ride!

  • Oh ffs...

"The moon will impact earth in 39 days." President: what happens to earth?

    :|

  • I don't know much about science, but this is so obviously stupid it beggars belief. Is writing realistic screenplays really so hard?

  • Aaaaaargh! The STUPID...it BURNS!

  • Comment removed

  • My thoughts exactly. You don't even have to be a science wizard to notice a few glaring stupidities.

If there's so much electromagnetic wonkiness going on, why do the TVs work?

A lack of gravity doesn't make you go up; it just stops you from coming down. Maybe the moon's gravity is supposed to be *pulling* the people; even so, they would be falling *with* the train and shouldn't be pulled from their seats.

Kids get lifted, but other stuff like the atmosphere doesn't even budge?

  • Actually the gravity is the gap between the centrifugal effect of earth and the magnetic force within the earth...

  • Man did they not hire any science advisers at all for this thing. Or at least some one with more then two brains cells to rub together.

  • A chunk of brown dwarf? Since when can you get a chuck of GAS? I feel dumber after watching this trailer.

Why must all B-grade American natural disaster films be solved by nuclear weapons?

Cant Americans have a natural disaster film that is well.....just that, no silver lining?

  • A whole mini-series of this crap!? You cancel "Pushing Daisies", and then give us this sh*t?

  • This almost makes The Core look like a realistic documentary.

  • Im studying geology, Dont even get me started on that film lol.

  • Lol, a WHITE President? What kind of craziness is that?

  • I see what you did there :)

  • This is worse than something scifi (excuse me SyFy) would put out.

  • Hilarious but pathetic.

  • That insulted my brain. Who greenlit this junk?

  • "If the electromagnetic energy is powerful enough, it will override local gravity."

    That's hilarious.

  • This is the most retarded thing I've ever seen.

  • This shit is comedy gold!

    AMIRITE GOONS?!?? AMIRITE?!?!? :SMUG:

  • Armageddon II: The Suckening

  • golden

  • AHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAAHHAHA this is SOOOO funny. What the fuck, ABC?

  • This is (no probably) the worst crap I've ever allowed my brain to be exposed to...who wrote this junk (and that's putting it nicely!)

  • wow ... BOOOOO!

  • I'm sorry, The Core, for all those bad things I said about you. I realize now that you didn't have electromagnetic radiation "override" gravity, or "pieces of brown dwarf" collide with the moon.

  • Yes but you do have Quartz Geodes half way down in the "liquid" mantel.

Take Bowens reaction series and bin it Holywood.

  • u dont undferstand this is scinetific breakthru u mornos!!!!!!!!!! the fucking moon

  • Actually, Earth would survive. Within a billion years or so it would be habitable once again. People only worry about their own existance, not the planet.

  • Yay we might get some of our crust back :)

  • ???? WTF is this shit? I sincerely hope this is as much of this tosh I ever have to endure.

  • This is the most retarded thing I have ever seen I have ever seen on the internet.

  • "The moon's coming to get us! Let's nuke the hell out of it!"

  • *Groan* Don't watch this. Read the book (an actual book!) "Moonfall" by Jack McDevitt, which has a much better take on something hitting the Moon/ threatening Earth.

  • Part of me hopes those events really happen, so I won't inadvertently watch this piece of garbage.

  • They had a science adviser on the set. He was bound and gagged, forced to watch helplessly as they filmed this tripe.

  • This is probably the worst thing i have ever seen. And i haven't even seen it yet.

  • Did they forget to add the laugh track?

  • How does something this stupid get past the network exec...oh...right...nevermind.

  • Even if our nuclear weapons are to stop the moon (which is impossible btw), the resulting meteors are enough to wipe most life.

  • this is retarded. My brain hurts.

  • I could understand having a few scientific inaccuracies in the plot, but to base the entire plot on something that is 110% scientifically impossible and to present it as plausible is scientifically irresponsible. It's crap like this that keeps America scared and dumb.

  • the world of science is crying. i feel dumber now.

  • I watched this just now, only the frst part does any one know where can I get the second part?
