  • Sorry..excuse me as I wax a chauvanistic brand of poetic....do you ladies have any concept of how incredibly sexy, incredibly feminine it is to see a woman wrapped in an activity that nourishes and nurtures her husband and family.......the runways of Paris, home to the vain and empty, they offer nothing, are completely devoid of character and soul in comparison to these women...truly and in every sense "women"....well done ladies !!!!!

  • i love these vids they are amazing

  • I want to learn how to preserve ... :(

  • that lady talking is sooo trippy.

  • I love the informational aspect of this video. I love it that we don't have to have Campbell's soup, Delmonte, etc.

  • The enlightened mind is open to profound ideas and I respect you for your discovery be pure

  • yes! cook it up! till there is no goodness left. vit C is destroyed by heating. what the? if u have a fruit tree in your garden, eat the fruit.

  • Sweet and gentle. Thank you for a subject that brings us back to center.

  • hvad er det

  • 100% shit

  • what a fuckin libtard

  • accually......

  • Excellent video! Thanks for posting you folks ROCK!

  • Thanks!

  • Please forgive the idiots, for they don't know how empty and worthless their remarks are. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I love to cook for my friends and family and welcome ideas for preserving food. Again, thanks.

  • Yeap. This is pretty much the distilled essence of what it means to give any boring assclown (or clique of assclowns) a camera and a potential audience.

  • sorry... I take that back.

  • We have all become so disconected with our food. Who grows it? Handles it? I dont think any craftmanship or pride,is added in factory processed food. Great idea ladies.

  • Interesant

  • You have a great idea!

I appreciate it since I am a future educator major in Home Economics.

    Perfect!

  • I really liked this ~ the friendship part, especially. I have none. I am totally alone lately and with all the people in this world, I have nobody. I have actually thought a lot today about just ending it all...

  • Well DON'T. Everyone feels like that sometimes... enjoy life focus on the little things. Join a club! Smile

  • Intellegent women....

I love the effort & initiative you have put forth to share with everyone~Thank you

  • This is wonderful. Thanks. Very well done and funny and sweet!!! A+

  • Oh come off of it! The traditional preservatives are sugar, salt and vinegar, none of which will give you cancer. Jellies will have pectin, which is a natural substance produced commercially from apples (mainly) and citrus fruit.

  • you COULD argue that potassium sorbate, which is found in berries, is in large quantities (VERY VERY large quantities) carcenogenic, but that is more aimed at products that have it as an additive <soda's, otter pops, the like> it is a natural preservative.

  • the botulism they will most likely get from their haphazard, hobby-esque canning procedures will at least serve to do away with their wrinkles. LoLz @ never done some homemaking in her life until its too late!

  • Take a HACCP course, you know nothing about food chemistry, or food safety.

  • actually I do. however you know nothing about me... dont assume and make a fool of yourself

  • I think you are the one who made a fool of themself

you might also go and find out how botox works, as clearly, you don't.

  • That you said *botox* (the mass marketed term of choice for prunes "in the know") rather than describe the relevant poison of choice shows your level of knowledge. Besides, if your criticism stems from my referral to removing their wrinkles with inadvertent *oral* botulinum toxin, it was a JOKE! Biting sarcasm. Heard of it?

  • botox is the opiate of the plastic masses, totallyutubular

  • Go to the library and get some books on canning. Your comment was misinformed and rude.

  • I have done it since I was a kid with my mother and now hold an advanced degree in a chemical field related to food. My comment was certainly rude, but not misinformed. Since when can we not call a spade a shovel?!

  • Junkmouth1, it would help the curse if you spelt diarrhea and period correctly..... :o)

  • Canning is nothing special. My mom and I can all the time. We know plenty of people that do this. Why all the fuss?

  • Cause our society is such a mess that we think it's something special when we just do normal stuff.

  • Well aren't you special. Most people don't can anymore. Most don't even cook.

  • its a sad sad world we live in

  • Thank you very much for this insightful video. Being 13, I still like to help my grandfather pick berries from the garden and make preserves out of them, and this video has showed me how important it is that continue making preserves with my grandfather and that I do this on my own more often.

  • wonderful

  • I eat Skippy peanut butter and it preserves itself.

  • Bravo again, Rebecca! You are setting a standard. Thank you for the depth and the beauty of your pieces.

  • I love this video! SUBSCRIBED!

  • Harriet and Marge make a great team!

    And thanks for subscribing :)

  • Thanks for watching, casla55!

  • Good food + good friends = good life

  • Good formula! How come I didn't learn this one in math class!?!

  • Make your tummy cast iron and don't preserve. I eat anything, smoke my ass off, drink and enjoy life.

I'm older than her and look twenty years younger.

It;s all in sunshine and laughter, nothing else.

  • I'm glad you addressed the fear factor. It is usually left unspoken, but the truth is I have been reluctant to preserve foods due to fear of doing something wrong in the process which would result in poisoning myself and my friends. Now that it's been talked about openly, I feel more inclined to actually do this. Thank you.

  • I understand that totally. I think if you follow the steps and gain the confidence, as she says, the skies the limit! Happy canning!

  • I have always been afraid of the pressure cooker. I was always warned as a kid to stay out of the kitchen when the grownups were putting up.

  • I understand! I didn't get involved in the kitchen until I was on my own, and didn't start canning w/o some trepidation. I read up on it, got together w/a buddy, and we canned some fresh peaches. They were great!! It tasted so good to have them in the winter months :)

  • I love using my Lagostina pressure cooker..they have a great design that makes them soooo easy to use! I would never use anything else now..

  • Huh? I thought preserving food was simple now I need an advanced degree in philosophy and physics just to understand why I am preserving food in the first place. I think I will just go and eat a hamburger.

  • In the old days..that chain was not broken it was just done by our mothers and grandmothers..my mother never taught me, but her mother did can, and when I turned 21 and moved out on my own, for some reason I started preserving..maybe from seeing all my great-grandmother's jars lined up in her basement..but she or that grandmother never taught me either..but then at 21 I just started..and my mother just kept the cherries as they connected her to her mother..

  • at first i was confused: how do you preserve the food, and the friendship both at once, but then i realized that my friends ARE food. i've built them entirely out of various sized shaped and coloured sausages and kalamata olives. they are life-sized, and startlingly realistic

  • Wow. That I'd like to see!!

  • now I want to go preserve something!! lol

  • I highly recommend a small batch jam of any of the berries that are currently in season. It is SO yummy! Great on toast, or just straight out of the jar :)

  • on ice cream or french toast, waffles, muffins.....mmmm....

  • Great story as usual.

  • Thanks, mystichairdresser :)

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks for watching!!

  • Very neat, and its all true
