Thanks for the help guys. Do you have a donation link or anything, where I could send you the money I just got paid for this simple repair as a thank you?
Wow this video was GREAT! I am the least handiest person ever so I watched this video at least 4 times, got the hardware parts & tools from Home Depot and just replaced the fill valve in my toilet tank in about 25 minutes! Super psyched I did not have to spend $120+ for a damn plumber! Who hoo!!
great video ty very much. got a refill valve at home depot for $8.17 with tax. went to the mom and pop plumbing store near my house but they were out so had to go there.took me less than 5 min to fix the problem
Nice tip!! I just replaced the top part of the valve it was simple. The part cost $8 and I was done in 10 minutes. I wonder what a plummer would have charged. Thanks you da man, man
One crucial point to make after watching this video is that no one ever talks about the CL (Critical Level) mark on the valve or properly adjusts the valves height. The CL mark must be 1" higher than the overflow pipe. That is plumbing code and it will prevent any back flow from your tank into your water supply if you loose water pressure. The statement about the fill vlave being place 1" lower than the tank lip is incorrect. Please read the instructions. Your friendly FLUIDMASTER TECH.
Thank you so very much. Just moved into a new apartment and the toilet water level was nearly at the bottom of the tank so..... your video helped me fix it by learning how to adjust the valve-cup-thingy. It's so wonderful to be able to go to you - and to you-tube for help. Very good useful information. Thank you.
yes!!!!!!!!! no one but you bothered to show that you move up the ring finally i was able to adjust the hight that you homeownerseries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Made a potentially frustrating and confusing job 100x easier!
THANK YOU!
(Unfortunately, it couldn't quite help aleviate the weird angles and small working space I had to work with, lol)
*oh, one note: In my case, the hose that attached the water line into the bottom of the toilet already had a plasticy/rubberry stopper permanently attached to it at the tip. So even though my kit came with it's own rubber stopper thing, I wasn't able to use it. Just an FYI for other non-expert DIYers.
wish I had watched this first. I replaced the entire assembly (Kohler-just like one shown) and I could have simply pulled the top part off and slid the new one on. This was in an extremely tight spot and took a lot of special words to get it done (if you know what I mean). The second toilet I have to do also and it will go much easier.
i broke the lock nut :(
