I've been playing viola for a while and i go to an arts high school now, for viola, so OF COURSE i support you as a violist ;p we must stick together. But this is relly good! I like it alot. my only comment is that when you play, you often stick out your left wrist, and it should be straight, but other wise your technique is really really good and I like it alot!

What some of you critcs don't realize is that she has something you probably will never have.. instinct and inner dynamics that cannot be learned from a sheet of music or a classical teacher because it comes from inside you... she has something I can't define it but it is to do with the heart and strength and pushing the emotional envelope to the outer limits and beyond. She is a star in the making and already puts many so called famous artists to shame in my opinion.

@Prettyflyboyanims no...25 people realize that her technique needs improvement and she's rather a stiff player. she's a good violist with a pretty tone but there are more polished recordings of this piece; it's childish to generalize people for disliking one recording.

not to discourage, violamad. i'm young too and my teacher changes something about my technique every time i see her. comments like this just UGHHHH.

my advice to you is to avoid such hyperextension of the left wrist..(:

It's quite a good performance. I enjoyed watching it. Just be careful to not be too rigid with your bow arm. Once the notes are under your fingers as they are now, you need to start to letting yourself go. Free up your elbow and bow arm and don't be afraid to put more feeling into it. Also watch out when you play at the tip, your bow is crooked.

This is absolutely wonderful playing. I've come to love the Hoffmeister. It's rumored that Mozart assisted him in writing this piece, and it certainly would make sense. They were friends and worked together quite a bit.
