Well, Alvestam has good death metal vocals, but not as good as Akerfeldt's. However, Alvestam's clean vocals are pure amazing, and definitely better than Akerfeldt's.

That's not to say that they are both amazing vocalists, and are definitely better at both growls and clean vocals than many vocalists in the genre.

I see what ya mean, but both have very similar growls. So similar infact, that on the Bloodbath track Iesous, Christian and Mikaels vocals are indistinguishable. However I feel mikael has a much better singing voice that fits the music, Christians is perhaps a tad too 'pop-ish', not that its a bad thing, cuz he has perfect pitch and makes decent melodies. But its true, there rarely any Singer/growlers who do both well, I can think of perhaps one other and thats it: Dez Fafara

Yeah, you're right, Akerfeldt's cleans definitely match Opeth's melancholic sound. Alvestam's cleans are kind of poppy, but they also match Scar Symmetry's style of playing as well.

Hmmmm, Tommy Rogers can also do both well, as well as Anders Friden. Those are the only two I can think of.

I love Metal and hate Slipknot and don't like the vocalist at all, but I disagree with how you're getting your point across. He was simply stating an opinion, which isn't wrong.  Disagreeing with it is one thing, but saying your opinion is fact is another, and I'll have to say that opinions are opinions. Everyone has a different opinion from one another on some things, so when somebody states their opinion, it's best to either state why you disagree in a *polite* manner or don't comment.
